The Southern California Logistics Airport is based on the former George Air Force Base which was active from 1941 to 1992. The airport has no commercial passenger service and is designed for business, military, and freight use. International cargo flights can land here as well due to its "foreign trade zone status". It is also home to several aerial firefighting units etc. and runway 17/35 at 15000 feet is the second largest public runway in the US. Following the grounding of 737 MAX's, Southwest elected to park their entire fleet here pending resolution of the software and flight safety issues that resulted in two crashes. What draws plane nuts to Victorville is the boneyard by and large. There is a large variety of mostly large aircraft that are either being stored (the hot dry climate is ideal) or being dismantled. Row after row of once proud airlines are lined up awaiting their fate's. Depending on how hard core you are you can make out the livery of current and often defunct airlines that have moved on. There are a few mysteries like the near new 787 parked and stored for more than a year. I could not get the tail numbers, but it may be an early production model that is too heavy for commercial use. Beyond the allure of seeing the planes there is not much else to do here. That being said, the city of Victorville has plenty of options for gas and eating, but unless there is a specific aviation event or your waiting for a particular plane to arrive, there is not much else going on at SCLA.

Overall, would have gladly paid fees considering the priority of making it home for Thanksgiving but very grateful for the sense priority the personnel placed in simply ensuring they could all help get my father and I home. Upon my return on Friday, the next crew was just as incredibly helpful. Kudos to management for setting up the right culture as the crew certainly emphasized the trickled down mindset of providing the best customer service. Without a doubt will recommend Million Air to friends and colleagues. Lastly, tower was extremely helpful while in the soup in moderate/severe turbulence. From parking just steps from the terminal to cruising through TSA, everything was fast and stress free. I went from putting my car in park to sitting at the gate in under five minutes, which felt almost suspiciously efficient. The waiting area is spacious with plenty of seating, so even hanging out before boarding was comfortable. Right now the limited flight options are the only downside, but if more routes are added someday, this airport would be hard to beat for convenience.

Every time I use this airport I'm reminded of San Jose airport but much more modern. Clean and efficient just as I imagine the home office likes it. Drop-off and parking is quick, I didn't have to deal with traffic or crazy crowds. TSA services were fairly amiable and the process to enter the terminals was seamless. I didn't have to wait long! Additionally, there's plenty of amenities for people young and old. I saw vending machines with Pokemon TCG items and other entertainment. There's two sizable gift shops with plenty of books, T-shirts, and Californian memorabilia for out-of-state guests. All stores were well-stocked and clean, I had fun browsing the shelves. One thing I enjoyed was the selection of restaurants and eateries inside. I saw a full-size Mexican restaurant and bar, brunch eatery, a Dunkin' and many name brand fast food chains. There's something for everyone here, I was never bored! If you're into airport lounges there's a place called Aspire that has a relaxing space for you to enjoy. Seats were comfortable and most boarding spots were easy to locate! Waiting areas had decent seats with great leg room. Restrooms were a bit far from waiting areas, but well-maintained. My most memorable experience at ONT airport was when a baggage claim lady helped me place a missing bag report as Houston's Frontier Airlines forgot to load my checked bag and sent over an other person's bag! The lady immediately asked for my information and my bag was quickly located. I received my bag a few days later (it was shipped to my house).

Only two terminal and 14 gates, so very easy to walk around and find where need to go. Location is also very good. If going Hollywood, Valley, Glendale or Pasadena, this airport is very convenient. They also have Amtrak, Metrolink, bus and rental car connection, so many choice for transportation. Parking is convenient also, even now some change because construction of new terminal. I am excited to see replacement terminal when open in October 2026. BUR have very nice old-style airport feeling. Flying here still feel simple and not too much trouble. If ticket price and flight route is good, I always choose Burbank before LAX. Very good airport for Los Angeles.

It is a tiny airport, not what you expect when you think of a place that is only about 20 minutes from all of the major movie studios. Pros - Because it is so tiny, it is very fast to get around. Once you get through security, the gates are a stone's throw away...any gate. It also didn't seem very busy on a Thursday afternoon. When you land, you can either exit the plane through the front or back of the plane, so deplaning is a bit faster. Very easy to catch an Uber/Lyft ride, barely any foot traffic. Easy in and easy out. Cons - If you have a lot of time to spare, there is NOTHING to do inside the airport. Barely any seating and very little to any electrical outlets to charge your devices. It's like going back in time. Very few shops and nothing interesting. The food choices there are worse than what you would find a standard mall. My advice would be to eat before you get there or bring your own food. Charge up your devices in advance. It's like going into a rural town or something.
