It's a hundred degrees outside, but the planes are still flying high.

Okay, everyone has to have some hobbies. Obviously, I'm have a few hobbies, and one of them is watching airplanes taking off and landing. Yeah, okay, I will admit that it doesn't sound like the most exciting hobby, but I enjoy it. The weird thing is I don't like going to air shows. I don't like the crowds and the rest of the hoopla. I just like watching the airplanes. That's why Brackett Field Airport is perfect. I go to Brackett Field Airport about once a month, and always find the experience calming and enjoyable. It has a small, park-like area for visitors to relax while watching planes taking off and landing on the runway. Additionally, if you have a fancy to do so, you could even make a picnic lunch and lounge around for a couple of hours. And if you don't want to make a picnic lunch, but you get a pang in your belly and want something to eat, you can chow down at the restaurant inside the airport terminal (yes, you can still watch the planes coming and going). I have always wanted to learn to fly, but have yet to do so. Nevertheless, each time I go to Brackett Field Airport and spend some time there, I start wishing I would have learned to fly a Cessna. It honestly looks like a rewarding and thrilling experience to do. If you are the kind of person that likes taking the family to the park to have a picnic, then do something a little different and bring the family over to Brackett Field Airport. The kids will enjoy seeing the planes taking off and landing, and most likely, you will too. Lastly, the airport is also near Puddingstone Lake / Bonelli Park, so you could also head on over there for a good nature walk as well after the picnic and plane watching. It is just a nice time overall, and heck, you might end up learning to fly!

Great Tower Controllers and the third Sunday of the Month Antique Aircraft Display / Car Show and Hot Dog BBQ hosted by the Brackett Airport Association is the best event going. Its a GREAT place to take your kids for a Sunday of aviation fun.

Literally go up the escalator/stairs, through TSA, and then turn right and the terminal is literally right there. There are times where there's only 1-5 people ahead of me in line at TSA and you don't have to take your shoes off anymore, making the process so much faster and smoother. Food and shopping options are a bit limited, but it's a smaller airport so no big deal for me. Seating is usually plentiful but the tables with the power outlets go by pretty quickly. Sometimes the flight attendants have a mic so you can hear updates, but obviously sit closer to the gate out if you really want updates or to correctly know when to line up.

Almost immediately, a male employee approached my wife and told her to move the car because the vehicle in front supposedly needed room to leave. However, there was clearly plenty of space for that car to exit, and there was no turn signal or indication that it was trying to pull out. The interaction felt unnecessary and abrupt, especially given how quickly we were unloading and the light traffic at the time. Afterward, the employee stood in the roadway to block cars so I could pull out, which felt excessive and awkward. This isn't an elementary school drop‑off where traffic needs to be manually stopped, and anyone familiar with airport drop‑offs knows they can be tight and fluid. I have never experienced this kind of situation at any other airport, and certainly not under similar circumstances. The handling of this felt unreasonable and made an otherwise simple drop‑off frustrating for no clear reason.

It's unconventional I know and I'm writing it using the Ontario airport site (my favorite airport), just because I don't know how else to thank them. Long story short, I booked a return flight from Cincinnati to Ontario in June for my husband who is visiting a friend that month. 1. Thanks to Michael who helped us get assigned seating for both legs of his return flight (for a fee). My husband then needed the app on his phone to keep track of any flight or gate changes on that future date. The app and Southwest website kept stating that he already had a rewards account and could not create a new one. The problem was that he couldn't remember the username or password from over 10 years ago when he last flew Southwest. (Rapid Rewards also changed account numbers since then because I knew my account name and password but they don't work either). 2. Thank you to Roxanne who answered the second time we called the 1-800 number and not only gave us the account number but also a link to reset the password. She then linked the future trip to his account so it would appear on the app when he logged in!!! Once again, humans triumph over the frustrations of technology. Thank you, Michael and Roxanne. You represent Southwest well!
