The tamales are excellent and I would highly recommend. I find other tamales to be a little bit too rubbery or dry, and these were just really great with a generous proportion of meat. The salsa bar it's fun! But sometimes some of the salsa seem a little bit old. May depend on what time you arrive? The molcajete is definitely the star of the show and I would highly recommend. The portions are very generous and it's a super fun dish. At other times we've ordered from the menu some more simpler options. The nice thing is it's super affordable, but I was less impressed by the quality of the food. So adjust your expectations a little bit depending on how much money you're investing into your meal. read more

Came for lunch by myself and got the Chori Pollo and really liked it! I was seated right away and service was good and attentive. It was obviously a slow time to be there, but the interior was spacious and seemed thought-out to accommodate the busier times. read more

Great location. It's in the strip shopping area of Plover / Stevens Point. It's easy to find and the parking is plenty. We stopped here after Christmas shopping. Inside, everything is new. They have plenty of seating so you get a choice of booth or table. We were seated and then our drink order was taken promptly. Inside had good lighting. The waitresses and waiters had the same uniform on: all in black. I thought that was nice and they were easy to spot. It was such a comfortable and laid back atmosphere. I reviewed their menu and I don't believe I saw anything over $15. They have a decent sized menu. Their lunch special ends at 2:30pm Monday through Saturday which was $5.50 a plate. Sunday's are $6.50. We didn't try any desserts. I ordered a combo plate #8, enchilada with a tamale, rice and beans. But they gave me #6, enchilada with a hard shell taco, rice and beans. Yeah, I just wanted a tamale so bad. I was so disappointed when they didn't give me the right order. I didn't realize until half way through, I was like "Where's the tamale?" It's ok, same price. Our waitress was sweet. She came to check up on us a few times but never came to refill our water. My husband says that the plates were not as big as other places we've been to in town. The flavoring of the food were ok; not great, not bad, just ok. We like that they had a sauce bar so you can choose the salsas you'd like to try. read more

I have been wanting to try this place since I first saw it. Finally got my chance for lunch. Phenomenal! The salsa bar was awesome. Everything was fresh and authentic! You get a lot of food. It looked like we each ordered 2 lunches each. Service was excellent except they forgot to ask if we wanted a refill on our drinks. As good as our favorite restaurant in Chicago but better with the salsa bar! read more

Ever since they have opened, early February 2020?, we have frequented the place. Never in all the meals I've eaten there have had a bad one. The table salsa is prefect. My only complaint if you call it that, more of a pet peeve, the chips can be hit or miss. I take in everything going on around me. I have never seen staff just standing around doing nothing. They are very attentive to their customers. Every encounter with staff has been super friendly. The owner who often waits tables is a blast to talk with when he's got a couple free in minutes. read more

Been there a few time and was very impressed. Food was so good. Decided to go there for my birthday and was very disappointed on August 14; 2020. My Texas steak fajita was very dry.. overcooked or rewarmed..it was also slightly burned Patron margarita was okay.. my daughter-in-law wasn't to happy with her tacos Again dry. My son bacon cheese burger was overcooked and dry. French fries tasted like overused grease. He was very unhappy. They both had been there two weeks before and the food was not very good.. loved the decor, but it will be a longtime before I go back. read more

First time dining here, inside dining, servers wearing masks-which was appreciated. Menu was expansive, including their lunch options. Noted that they had a hamburger and steaks with various sauces to give them a Mexican flare, but presume for the non Mexican food eater in a group gathering, the sauces could be omitted. There were several menu selections that I've not seen at other restaurants and would like to try there. If one of your dishes comes with a delicious looking roasted jalapeño, be cautious, very spicy but tasty. The salsa with chips was excellent, chips a tich greasy. Wait staff was attentive until you needed to find them for more water. My lunch companion and I both commented on the decor as being more of an upscale look, more of what you would expect a steakhouse having, attractive. The restaurant is in a strip mall, but it shouldn't be overlooked. Fairly priced, I'll be back and I'll recommend it to locals. read more
