    Cheese enchiladas

Things have changed completely and NOT what I expected. I was expecting authentic and true Mexican food. They have came from California (where we have moved from as well) where the Mexican food was real and authentic. We swore of this place! So why not order from them again. We ordered the birria wet burrito and cheese enchiladas. However, the birria burrito was burnt and had no birria sauce. The cheese enchiladas were NOT was I was expecting, nor what I ordered. We wanted traditional birria burritos and enchiladas. The enchiladas were covered in cheese sauce and tortillas were raw. I don't know what has changed, but it isn't the same. It did not taste the same, nor did it have that feeling of love for the food as it did a year ago when we had eaten there plenty of times. Where is the authentic spices, cheeses and sauces? Where is the love and authenticity from traditional California that you have brought over here for others to enjoy? It is no longer there. This was a little piece of California that we missed and loved and it is sad to say that we will not be back. You were our little piece of home and now that has changed. When staying true to our roots and delivering exceptional taste and authenticity, will bring costumers back and keep them happy. Changing cheeses to mozzarella, and salsa into bland tomato paste is not what I expected and beginning to look and taste like all the mexican restaurants out here. This is not what I want from a Mexican restaurant. We are no longer in Cali anymore Casa Sanchez, El Pescador and Don Jose's, we need you out here.

This location is in a shared plaza with plenty of parking. The decor inside has some lovely murals. It has a bright feel. I went at an odd time so was able to get a table quickly. The service was decent. The food was also decent. I got the chicken tacos and the chicken was a little dry. I liked the jaimica. The salsa for the chips and salsa was good. The portion size was good for the price. There is a service charge for using your credit card.

Street Tacos - Carne Asada, Chorizo, Carnitas, and two Al Pastor

I stopped in to El Monarca in Nixa, MO for lunch today, I got their Street Tacos . I ordered them À la carte to try a variety. I got a Carne Asada, Chorizo, Carnitas, and two Al Pastor tacos because that's usually my favorite. All of them were excellent and they have a red sauce and two green sauces, all full of flavor and packing an added kick the perfect complement for the tacos. I've ate here one time before and I will eat here again next time I'm in town. The service is great, the food was amazing and it's a nice atmosphere. Stop by and check out El Monarca.

El Monarca was a comfortable and delicious place to have lunch with my brother. Staff were polite and professional, tacos were absolutely delicious, chips and salsa was fresh.

Best local place to get authentic Mexican food. I always order a la carte here. Love their sopes with carne asada and their street tacos. I usually lean towards Al pastor or carne asada for the tacos. Both are awesome! Tip: ask for the verde salsa. It has great heat!

Street tacos were good. Asada was the best one! Selection of hot sauces was yummy. Service was great-super friendly and attentive! Clean and bright atmosphere.

Tried this place for the first time, and it was pretty good overall. Service was good and food came out fairly fast. Rice and beans were what (you) would expect/want.

MONARCO is Monarch in Spanish. Think of the butterflies who migrate from the US to Mexico every winter. This place to be behind Rocco's in Nixa. Now in strip mall next to Price Cutter & going great guns. A 417 Mag review named it one of 5 restaurants to try in Nixa 2023. What sets them apart is they focus on Calico cuisine. That's CALIfornia-mexiCO styled food. Like TexMex but from the left coast. Clean & friendly. A brightly painted dive but fresh food at reasonable prices. Family and local owned so I feel better not supporting a national franchise. Wish them ¡FELICIDADES!

This is a bar that happens to sell beer made by someone like a home brewer. And not good beer at that. They have 4 options to pick from. We tried the fancy water and the Irish red. Both were extremely flat. I haven't had a flat beer in a while but that certainly affects the taste of the beer that should have a bit of foam on the top and these didn't have any. Second both beers were absolutely disgusting. If we didn't order food, this would be a 1 star review based on the horrible beer and Coyote Ugly type decor that doesn't match what an actual brewery should look like. It was smelly (like cigarettes) and weirdly uncomfortable. I go to bars often but this one caught me off guard since I was expecting a brewery type experience. The second star is from the food. They have some typical bar food and we got a variety of dishes. We got chili cheese fries that were amazing, fried green beans that were yummy served with a thick ranch dressing, the hot dog wrapped in cream cheese and a tortilla and fried and the chili dog. The food was all really good, however it didn't outweigh the horrible beers. I visit the Springfield area often but I doubt I will ever be back to this place.
