Good vibes, great service, awesome food! Stopped here on a road trip, was right off the highway and very convenient.

Last night I ordered a HUGE ($100) order for takeout for dinner for my family. When my fiancé picked it up I saw I didn't even receive my Plabonos (Chile peppers stuffed with Monterey Jack cheese) instead just a plate of rice, lettuce, cut up bell pepper and shredded cheese? But whatever I just chose to eat something else. So we have dinner and I ate my food and then we all went to bed. Around 7 am, I was in the bathroom sick as a dog. And STILL feel sick as ever! Just horrible. Don't go here. Not worth the price!!!

We stopped here off the highway on the way to Mammoth Cave. This is the best Mexican food I've ever had. We got five things and all were amazing: El Nopal Especial, margarita, chips and salsa, tilapia with herbs, and papas nachos with chicken. Even the black beans side was excellent.

OUTSTANDING: $2.25 Ice Tea--good flavor, tall glass. Altho in plastic glass with too short straws. Lightning speed in being given menus and serving the food. EXCELLENT: Friendliness. GOOD: Cleanliness. Quesadilla Tortilla--recommend it and bring your own contents! TOLERABLE: Chips, Salsa (ditto, no flavor, no cilantro), Boring flavorless Beef and Chicken in the Quesadillas. Both TV's in our sight were on Spanish channels--apropos for a Mexican venue, but we didn't notice any diners who appeared to be Mexican or were speaking Spanish, so the TVs were either for the employees who did appear to be Mexican, or mgt was hoping non-Mexican diners would speed-learn the Spanish language. As a non-Mexican, I prefer American English-speaking channels with good Mexican food and Mexican music over the intercom. REASON WON'T GO BACK: Food price vs value.

Fast service, large portions, and good food. Worth a visit if you are passing through the area.

The worst. They should not be making Mexican food, or learn how. They got the order wrong twice. Don't go.

Great Food and Service but Payment and Billing System Needs an Update…read more (3.5 Stars ) Mi Viejo is one of the only good restaurants in the Carrollton area aside from the fast food restaurants in the area, Whenever I'm in the Carrollton area I eat here at least once. So far on my visits, the food has been great and the service has been pretty good too. The only issue I face is when I have to get an itemized receipt for business expenses. On my last visit, I asked for an itemized receipt right when I sat down and the server came over. The server assured me that he could do it as I have had this issue on all of my previous visits. Once I ate my delicious perfectly made meal, I again asked for an itemized receipt. The server disappeared for over ten minutes and I had to go to the counter. At the counter they gave me a tiny receipt to show I paid and tipped but no itemized receipt. Again the person at the counter disappeared for another ten minutes as I guess they thought I would just go away. Finally, a manager came out and redid my whole bill and gave me a printed receipt with separate charges for what I ordered but no item description. I guess this is the best that they can do. I do recommend they modernize their POS as since there are several industries in the area, I can't be the only person who has to submit receipts for business expenses. Aside from these ongoing issues, the food is always on point and servers do the best they can.

The owner of the establishment works in the kitchen along with help and makes the best quesadillas I have eaten. When I stop in I like to eat the picnic tables because it's way too much to eat going down the road and it's too far from my house to wait until I get home. The atmosphere is laid back and just other hungry people getting good food at an economical price. If you haven't tried it, stop by today.

I travel all over the state and I've been to 20+ taquerias in the last year, and I can confidently say that these are far and away the best tacos in Kentucky and even beating any and all spots in the Cincinnati metro area. The meats, the salsa, the tortillas, everything is better. On my deathbed, I want nothing more than a plate of these tacos. I can't think of a single thing that would make them better. They have such a large menu, but I may never know what all of that tastes like because I will get tacos every single time. They have a brick and mortar restaurant in Ghent worth checking out too. It's 99% as good, but the tacos here just taste slightly better. I'll probably transition to the one in Ghent for the winter. Here it's always nice to sit on the picnic tables and enjoy the fresh air. In summary, try these and you won't want any other tacos in your life.
