I was nervous choosing a new clinic after leaving my parents insurance but I am happy with my care at El Norte medical group. Dr. Hubbard has been an amazing PCP. He is extremely knowledgeable and ensures that I understand the plan of care. My husband is also his patient and enjoys his care with Dr. Hubbard. Carlos is fantastic as well and sends replies in a timely manner to messages I send via the portal. The scheduling works out well on my end since I don't come in very often. read more

The care providers are stellar. Dr. Hubbard, John Scarvino, Shay (Sharon) Robinson, and Dr. Lee have all been part of my health care journey over the last 10 years and I love them. I trust each of them to take time to listen, share their thoughts, and they always help with compassion. The building is old, crusty, and needs updating but don't let that stop you from seeking care here. It isn't perfect. Most of the time incompetent. Just try to get an appointment after a emergency visit. It's like pulling a 3500 loaded up hill by a5year old.

I had an appointment with Dr. Hubbard, who is a fine doctor and I like, at 2:00 PM today. I arrived at the front desk at 2:07 PM. The recipient sent a message to the nurse at 2:07 PM. The nurse sent a message at 2:15 PM that I was late and that a 15-minute appointment with the doctor was no longer available. I asked if they have any rules saying that 7 minutes is too late; they do not. The office did not send me a reminder about my appointment because, as they say, "they have a new company." They also could not communicate with each other because "they have a new system." I left a message for the quality manager, but I have not received a response. This is my last visit to a chaotic and unprofessional office. read more

I have always seen Dr shay and loved her. Until today My pain doctor is going out of business and we were told we could get meds from our family Doctor until we got a new pain doctor. After spending many hours on the phone trying to get a date she refuses to prescribe them because I can't give her a appointment date of a new doctor. Money-grubbing office!! Used to go to Shea Robinson for probably 20 years until our insurance changed to Kaiser and had to choose a new PCP. Now we're back with Aetna and natually I wanted to go back to someone who knew me and whom I knew. That is, until I tried to make an appointment and was told that since I wasn't feeling well, I needed to do a telehealth appointment (not even with Shea)... not sure how that was going to diagnose what I had since they can't listen to my heart/chest/ etc but okay. But first they tell me I need to fill out their 15-page health questionnaire online! (which I did). The time comes for my appointment and they now tell me it's going to cost $100 for my tele-appointment co-payment! WHAT?!?! No thanks... I'll sweat this one out, thank you!! Made a call to our insurance company to inquire about this $100 co-payment and he tells me that all office visits are zero charge, just like it states on my ID card! Fast forward to today, (two months later) where I have an actual office appointment. Nasty receptionist (wish I caught her name), tells me that I have a deductible and they need to collect $100 co-payment. Here we go again.... I tell her that this is just an office visit and PER MY CARD, there's NO CHARGE. She insists there is and I politely tell her that I will be looking for a new doctor... her response... okay!! I called my insurance company again just to be 100% sure that I shouldn't have been charged and he confirmed it again. Such a waste of time!!! Clearly this office doesn't need or want new (or previous) patients so I would highly recommend looking elsewhere! read more

The quality of care has diminished here. Communication with this office is terrible. If you call, or return a call, you have to wait days for a response. They have a patient portal but they do not respond to messages there either. If they do get back to you it is usually a confused assistant trying to explain things to you. It is unfortunate, because there have been some good doctors there that watched out for you. read more

Worst front desk and service around. They fail to schedule appointments properly. You'll schedule an appointment, get a confirmation, and then it's mysteriously not on their books when you arrive the day of. The medical assistants they have call you with the doctor's orders/results never know what they're talking about. If you have a question, they just re-read the script they were giving from the doctor and don't try to answer your question or follow up at all. Truly abysmal service. read more

Answering service doesn't pick up after calling for hours & put on hold for at least 30 min. Each time. Unacceptable! What's the point of having them for primary care? It's like not having a primary care doctor at all! Unacceptable! Horrible service! Been a patient there for years. Merging w/ Graybill had to be the worst decision ever! Doctor Tarzy & his nurse Heather should know how awful the answering service is! I expect an apology! I tested positive & am quite sick w/ Covid even though I'm vaxxed & boosted. I've been to this office for over 10'years and over time the phone wait time to speak with an appointment scheduler has gotten ridiculous. I called their office the other day and was put on hold for over twenty minutes; finally took the option of having the office call me back but never received a callback the next day. I am proud to say, I have been a patient of El Norte medical group for over 20 years. I have always been treated with kindness by all the staff. I started with Dr. O'Dwyer , Dr. Foraci, and seen others a couple of times. All have treated me with the care and listened. Most of my care has been under Sharon Robinson PA-C. She has been wonderful and I cannot express enough how great she has been. She listens and genuinely cares for her patients. Since I have Lyme and other underlining issues, she runs labs every 90 days and is on-top of my health. She now sees my daughter who is a RT specialist and my 17 yr. old son. I don't understand the point of this medical group. They never have doctors appointments available and always are sending my daughter elsewhere, like urgent care where we can get even sicker or making appointments months out for thing she needs sooner. I am trying desperately to make her change because I don't think they show ANY concern at all. It's so ridiculous! Today she's loosing feeing in her hand with what looks to be an spider bite reaction and they don't have one doctor available on staff to take ten minutes to see her and advise her of WHAT IT MAY BE?! So absurd. Tired of this constant lack in care. Do yourself a huge favor and go elsewhere! If you read any other bad reviews it seems to be an issue all the time with the front desk! I have always gone to Shay Robinson and I have always found her to be incredibly kind to me. But however, she has turned for the worse. I've had a weight problem my entire life and I've now lost 40 pounds in the last year, but upon coming in today for different reasons, Shay went on a ten minute rant about Ozempic and how I should be put on it. I tried to explain, no I don't want it because I can obviously lose weight on my own, she kept bragging about being skinny. Like, obviously I know what was wrong with my weight before and I'm still working, you shouldn't be forcing drugs onto people who have no problem losing weight on their own. Personally it feels wrong to use new medicine on someone without anyone knowing the lifelong consequences of it, and especially when I very much do not have diabetes, it's wrong and I absolutely hate how she ranted about it, pretending to be a weight loss doctor. Losing 40 pounds has been an immense accomplishment for me, as it would be for anyone, and it's not like I'm stopping now. I'm very obviously continuing this journey, and I thought if anything, a doctor whom I trust would understand that. I'm truly disappointed in her and her seemingly superiority complex. It is not okay to recommend these actions to someone who is adamant on losing weight on their own time. It is a form a bullying, trying to tear someone's own accomplishments down just for the sake of being skinny. I have been working incredibly hard for over a year now, and I just find it screwed to recommend a lifelong altering substance to take to someone who isn't even qualified to take it. HORRIBLE service today by someone on the phone. I had lab work done and my physician told me the results should be in within 24 hrs. Since I will be leaving for college in NC soon, I called after a few days and there were no results - I was told a note would be left for the MA to call the lab. After a few more days I called again, and the representative was SO RUDE, saying there's nothing she could do, had no idea why the doctor said 24 hrs, and the most she could do was leave a note and "HOPE" the MA contacted the lab. She did not care that I will be leaving the state TOMORROW and brushed me off like nothing, even though there was complete lack of follow through by their office. Lack of empathy and care for patients. Plus this office is very out of date and lacks any modern innovation. I was even told I couldn't get a physical because I was only 20 when I first called. I have had Dr. tarzy as my primary care doctor since I was a child, and I am so unbelievably disappointed in his and his staff's rudeness, unprofessionalism, and lack of care for their patients. Countless times I have been treated with disgusting rude attitude from the nurses and secretary's on staff when I have called simply for small appointments like blood tests, which are very easy to fit into a schedule and take a short amount of time. The least they could do is refer me to another doctor to help, but the staff is simply too lazy to do so. SHAME ON YOU DR. TARZY!!!!! Luckily I have found an amazing new primary doctor so I don't need to deal with this office that represents everything wrong with the American healthcare system right now. My biggest complaint is the service over the phone. In the last year they have made it nearly impossible to reach the office. I have to wait on hold for at least 30 minutes any time I try to reach the office. My pharmacy is never able to get a hold of the office to refill my prescriptions. The receptionists are really helpful, and when I call with 100 questions, Anne is really patient with me. I see PA Shea. She is the PA everyone should want... kind, smart, listens and what I really appreciate about her is, what you see is what you get! I don't need sugar coating, I want answers. She is always amazing with me. I really would recommend her to anyone, as she was recommended to me. Never got to meet the doctors because you can't get past the rude receptionist!! If you visit the north county, San Diego area yearly and have extended stays here and are looking for a local medical group ....DO NOT GO HERE!!! Very rude office staff. They will not take you. The lady that answered the phone wouldn't even let me explain myself and my needs. I'm staying in the area for four months and visit the area frequently throughout the year. I have autoimmune issues. My insurance is good all over the United States and their doctors are in my network. They would not take me because I live out of state. They said go to an urgent care, even though I have no urgent needs, I just want to establish care here just in case I need blood work or have a minor issue that isn't urgent care worthy. read more

We have been going to this medical group for over a decade and appreciate the staff and Doctors who we have visited. There are no parking garages and long walks to checkin. It is not fancy but more personal than most centers. The doctors spend time with you and they have a lab for quick test results for simple diagnostic needs. read more

This was my daughter's first dr. visit as an adult (switching from pediatrics). We initially had some issues with scheduling because she is leaving for college in a few weeks and we were trying to see the actual assigned dr but their first available was after she left (about a month away). She needed a vaccine for college, so they scheduled us with the PA Shea Robinson. We got there early as requested for paperwork, then had to wait 30-40 min. after our scheduled time before we got a room. The nurse did the initial stuff. Then we waited another 20 min. or so before the dr. came in. But we absolutely loved Shea. She spend a long time with us, asking detailed questions and truly understanding and listening to my daughter's unique medical diagnoses. She did a fully first patient workup on my daughter, and is working on referrals for us we need for my daughter's unique situation (she's seen specialists since she was 2 yrs old), and didn't bat an eye when we requested a particular referral. Very knowledgeable, very receptive and compassionate. We did have an oops on a vaccine, but I can understand the confusion with our circumstances, and they were so apologetic. The exit admin lady then spent several minutes answering our questions and was very helpful and nice. We look forward to coming back. read more
