When my dish arrived all I got was fajitas no sour cream no guacamole no salad no refried beans. I asked for a tea refill and got water instead. Apparently there was a language barrier. Two words - canned chicken Quesadilla on lunch special is canned chicken (yuck!!), service was too flirty, when I asked to have my quesadilla changed to grilled chicken it was 'a small up-charge' of the cost of a whole additional order! not sure how this place got people's choice. Revisited a few times now. The place was clean. The staff is very charming and attentive. The shrimp fajitas were great. The shrimp was cooked perfect and sautéed vegetables were great. The chicken tacos were well made and made with fresh ingredients. The cheese dip was hot. Overall the food was good. The flavor was decent and a touch on the blander side. Food was ok however the server couldn't seem to get our orders right and when it came time to pay there was so much confusion we just paid so we could get out if there. I know we paid more than we should have been charged, we just took it as a lesson learned to not be repeat customers. read more

The quacamole is the best I've eaten . Chunky avocado, sweet onion and a few tomatoes . The margaritas are good. I love the Dulce de Leche Cheesecake . Omg!! I definetly recommend eating here. read more

We have eaten here many times. The food is very good and the service is great. If you will eat the less "usual" dishes, you will be surprised by taste, quality, and authenticity. Try the Chili Poblano with chicken or shrimp. Try the tacos al pastor. Try the beef dishes on the bottom of the menu. There's no pork (I wish there were pork dishes), but the food is very, very good. I speak Spanish well and have eaten at Latino restaurantes all over the country. You will be amazed. Great place, great people. Don't be afraid to ask the staff about special options. They were out of any steak dishes. Didn't offer any pork dishes. The staff was more interested in the TV. Than the customers. One guy got up from his seat asked two different people for drink tree efills. He wound up doing it himself. After not being served the whole time I got up and walked out. read more

This is my family's favorite place to go and eat. We have never had a problem with this restraint. I would say we go at least twice a week. They seat you right away and bring you out a basket of nice warm chips and the best salsa in town! The waiters are always very friendly. I would definitely recommend going and eating here. read more

I can't speak for the other El Norte locations in Meridian, but this one was terrible. We dined in and had one take out order. The take out order was completely wrong so I went back to get it corrected. After they brought it out, I asked the manager for some extra salsa, which I thought was a completely reasonable request considering I had to drive all the way back to get my order corrected. He bluntly said he would have to charge me, which I agreed to thinking it would be some reasonable price like a dollar or two. He wrote a ticket for $4.17 for some watered down salsa. I was completely shocked with his arrogant demeanor and complete disregard for customer satisfaction. There's several better Mexican places in Meridian, like La Piñata, go to one of them instead. Avoid this place and its subpar food and unfriendly staff. read more

Very judgmental service. Never use to be. Came here many times and always greeted. Now...if we come in laughing or in a good mood they immediately think they can no longer serve. Thought it was a fluke a week ago so came back and came back stone sober and not one wait person offered a drink. I'm sure it's thanks to the bartender. It's a shame.
