I hail from a border town with Mexico and after spending sometime in Meridian I'm pressed to say that Las Fuentes is one of the few restaurants that comes close to an authentic Mexican meal in Meridian. Surprisingly so because its a mall restaurant, which adds to its splendor. They have done a wonderful job in creating such a festive ambiance. Guests get a lot of energy from the environment and from the staff. Good food, ice-cold quality drinks, all at affordable prices! My expectations weren't high as Meridian doesn't seem like somewhere you'd get great Mexican, but I still had some hope! Our waitress wasn't all that attentive, kept disappearing on us whenever we really needed her. The hot sauce was a generic off brand hot sauce that wasn't great by any means. I ordered the steak hard tacos and was brought out steak tacos on soft tortillas. The lady who delivered had no idea whether they were flour or corn (gluten allergy so I can't have flour. .) so I just sat there until our waitress appeared, confirmed they were flour and took them back to get new ones. 99% sure they just moved the steak into crunchy taco shells that tasted stale and my lettuce was starting to turn and look bad. Chips and salsa were decent though. Needless to say we won't be back again. read more

I was very disappointed in my last order. Very little taste. Worst Mexican food I have had in a long time. Took a long time to get my order.

I was visiting my boyfriend who was located here for his military training. The restaurant seemed fairly promising upon walking in the door. The service ended up being terribly slow, and the server said that the other server didn't show up to work. Understandable, I've worked in the restaurant industry for 10 years. It happens. A friend's margarita had to be sent back twice. Once because it was wrong and the second time because the drink was syrupy and thick. I looked up noticed two cockroaches on the wall. The best part is our table was located right by the kitchen. Imagine what it looks like in there. I really wasn't in the mood to eat after that. We debated on telling them but assumed they probably knew but didn't want to say anything to us. Overall, I have no interest in eating there again. Don't want a side of cockroaches with my burrito. read more

The food was great! I suggest the number 21 ask for some lime to squeeze on top of your chicken delicious! Our waiter was very friendly and quick to bring out our food. He was quick but never rushed us to leave. We come here often before movies and are never disappointed! They do karaoke again too! Great place for authentic Mexican food located in Meridian. We typically go to lunch prior to taking in a movie right next door. My favorite dish is the Liberty Special which is not so heavy as some other dishes. Would recommend. read more

I had a top-"shell" margarita (they have "shell" instead of "shelf" on their menu, it made me laugh). It was delicious and only $6 and strong. We loved the chips and salsa too. I'm picky about restaurant salsa, but this tasted fresh. DO NOT GET THE GUACAMOLE. I should have known when the menu said, "Guacamole Dip" that it wouldn't be fresh, but it definitely tasted pre manufactured, we couldn't eat it at all without gagging.
