We have been coming here for years, and it's a great experience every time. The manager that works here is really friendly and always greets us at the table. We were going to order the parillada for two, but we're talked into upgrading to the molcajete and are so glad we did! It comes with two plates of rice, beans, and salad as well as two sets of tortillas. Lots of different sizzling proteins and fajita style veggies as well as pieces of queso and grilled jalepeños. Highly recommend! One of my favorite spots to sit on the patio with a margarita in the area. I'm obsessed with the white sauce they serve with the chips, and their salsa is so fresh and just the right amount of spicy. El Parian is a great option for consistently great Mexican food and margaritas in the south metro!

El Parian has the best food I've had in a very long time. Perfect- but that's oversimplified ... Went there one day when they reopened after covid (AC) and had really good street tacos. Had chimichangas this time. One shredded beef, one shredded chicken. Whatever they marinated them in was scrumptious. It wasn't super spicy - which I wouldn't have minded. It didn't need any additional seasoning. Also - pretty good margaritas And - Great staff. They have a really good team.

Gotten take out once and thought the food was alright, but decided to dine in for my 2nd try and the food was delicious! The only thing is customer service was not as good once I got my food, my water never got refilled.

The service wasn't good here at all, so that's why I'm giving El Parian 3 stars. We didn't get checked on, and had to flag our waitress down for refills or anything that we needed. The food was very good though. We ordered chimichangas and the chorizo tacos which were delicious!

So Mexican food is one of my favs when I go out to eat. So when a friend said they heard some good things about this place and took me here I was excited! Upon sitting, just like any traditional Mexican restaurant, we received chips and salsa, but a surprise bowl of "Mexican ranch". When the hostess told me what it is I said, well I don't even like American ranch. That was weird to me. I ordered the chili relleno, beef burrito, and beef enchilada combo. The relleno was decent, the only difference of the burrito and enchilada was the flour versus the corn tortilla. Then they drenched everything in the red enchilada sauce. I was not a fan of this or the burrito and enchilada being the same. The price is on the lower end, so I guess you get what you pay for.

The service has always been awful here, but decided to give it another try. I found out about this place on restaurant.com and purchased a couple coupons. They tried to tell me both times I used them that I can't. (Making up lies already) the second time I used it I assumed it was going to happen again. Showed him the fine lines and he knew he was caught in lies. In the picture, the $10 off he is referring to is my COUPON I brought in.. he didn't willingly give it to me. The service is awful, they don't care about their customers and it's said to be a drug ring. Won't be back that's for sure. They also brought out 3/5 people's food and they were half way done by the time we had ASK for the other 2 plates. Others were getting up to go to the bar because their drinks had been sitting there for 10+ minutes. Thank goodness Teresa's is so much better and right down the street!

Went with my wife and her dad on a whim. She got the chimichangas, her dad got the pollo con chorizo, and I got the tacos de alambre (pictured: steak with chorizo). The food was great but the service was a bit lacking. Didn't check in on us hardly at all, and forgot to bring one of the custom ordered things (her dad substituted salad with the rice) so we had to remind our server and I didnt receive a drink refill until we were about ready to pay the check and head out.

The food isn't as good as it used to be. They also no longer have sugar free drinks. Not so good for diabetics.

Meh Mexican good. Little flavor in the beans, stale chips, underseasoned meats, and ridiculously slow service. And goopy cheese.

First time at this location and service was very poor. There wasn't a designated server for us & everything was very unorganized.

I'm really happy to say that things have improved since my last visit and review. That said, it's still not quite a perfect 5 out of 5 for me. First, they seem to have ditched the service fee. My understanding is that service fees are no longer allowed in Minnesota, so I was expecting them to replace it with a credit card fee. I'm happy to say there was no service fee, no credit card fee, or anything else. The price of the food is the price you pay, plus tax and tip. That is so refreshing to see in 2026 and automatically earns this restaurant an extra star from me. The food is still the best part of this restaurant. I'm sure they're sourcing ingredients from the same places as everyone else, but somehow their flavors are extraordinary. This time I got the Pollo Sonora, and I honestly don't have any complaints. It was absolutely delicious. Highly recommended. They still offer free chips and salsa, which I love because not every Mexican restaurant does that anymore (Chula's in Prior Lake, I'm looking at you). It's nice to see they still include them. This time around, though, I didn't enjoy the white sauce as much. I'm not sure if it changed or if my tastes have changed. The red salsa was fantastic, but I really wish it had been colder. It was more warm or lukewarm, which just wasn't what I was expecting or wanting. My wife got one of the weekend lunch specials for $10.99: a beef enchilada and a beef burrito. She had no complaints. I was honestly impressed that they still offer lunch specials on weekends. We also ordered the large queso appetizer for $10.99. I intentionally ordered the large because I assumed we'd have leftovers to take home. However, the "large" is really more of a medium-sized portion. I'm 6 feet tall, had just finished a workout, and hadn't eaten much that day. My wife was also very hungry. We ended up eating almost the entire thing. For $10.99, I was expecting a noticeably larger portion, so that was a little disappointing. I don't even want to know how many calories we ate just from the queso....but I still think the large should be larger for $10.99. The service also improved compared to my last visit, but I still don't think it's on the same level as many other restaurants. In my previous review, I mentioned that service was the biggest issue, and if you read other reviews, you'll notice it's a recurring theme. This time our waiter did ask if we needed drink refills, which was an improvement. However, service still felt a little slow, and at times it seemed like he was trying to avoid extra trips or additional questions. For example, when he took our drink order, he immediately started walking away. We had to quickly stop him because we also wanted to order an appetizer. At that point we were ready to order our entrées too, but since he didn't ask, we only ordered the appetizer. Later he came back and asked if we were ready to order our entrées. By then we'd eaten almost all of our chips, and he could clearly see the basket was nearly empty. Instead of asking if we'd like another basket, I had to ask for more chips. That's not a huge deal, but it's just not what I'm used to. At most Mexican restaurants, if the server notices your chips are gone, they'll usually offer another basket without being asked. I realize that's a bit nitpicky, but I mention it because it's been a recurring pattern during past visits. The bathrooms were mostly clean, the sinks are pretty cool, and the men's restroom has a baby changing station. The prices aren't amazing, but they're not terrible either. If you're looking for the cheapest Mexican food around, this probably isn't the place. But if you're looking for fantastic flavors and a nice atmosphere, it's absolutely worth trying. I would still recommend this restaurant to friends and family, and I know my wife and I will be back. We're just not rushing to return. They're so close to being a truly perfect restaurant.

They give you appetizers of chips, red salsa, and some kind of mayonnaise based dip. Beware because it'll get you gluttonous very quickly. All in all - it's what you expected for a Mexican restaurant. The food was quick, hot, and the service was kind and prompt enough to a bunch of gringos. A nitpick - the women's bathroom had 1 of 2 stalls out and seemed to need attention, hope they get that fixed. My only complaint was for two fajita platters, a nacho supreme, one tea, and one Sprite, and one bowl of guacamole and queso came to $120 after tax. Seems steep to me? (Hence four stars) At least the food didn't suck, which would I have made it sting. Try them out!

The steak asada tacos are my favorite -- the beef is perfectly salted and so flavorful. I also enjoyed the chicken tinga tacos, which has a tomato-based adobo sauce. The barbacoa tacos were juicy but I would've liked a little more salt. Don't miss the condiment area, where you can get lime wedges and mild, medium, and hot salsas. The mild salsa wasn't spicy at all and added nice flavor to the tacos. The medium salsa isn't that spicy if you have a spice tolerance. The hot salsa is more hot than flavorful. This is the food spot we eat at the most hands down. At least 2-4 times a month. I love the food. Their Tinga is sooo good. I ordered a side of their rice the other day (because I love it in my burritos) and oh my gosh that was amazing. But the staff don't even fill up my cup full of rice . It was only like 80% full. Felt like I got ripped off a bit, for the cost. I also really wish they would look into adding more menu options. We need queso here, I bet they could make an amazing queso. I also wish they had a salsa specifically for chips. Their sauces/salsas are great, but only on food. Not great with chips. Overall - still great. Go eat here. Service is slower than before. Prices have gone up. Wish they had queso and a salsa for chips specifically. Wish I got a full cup of rice when I order a side of rice, considering how expensive the rice is.
