The bay scallops were delicately cooked and even 1/2 hour later when I opened the container, they were still perfect. I added extra queso from our queso dip order. Their queso is wonderful. Large margaritas, tasty food and good service combined for a great date night at Teresa's! I went here on a Friday night and it was packed. Despite the nearly full restaurant we were seated right away and given complimentary chips and salsa. I ordered a large margarita that was giant but was too sweet for me so I didn't finish it. I ordered the arroz con pollo which was very good. It was cheesy and the grilled chicken with rice were a delicious combo. They also give tortillas to add to the entree which I enjoyed. The quesadilla was not good , it had American cheese in it (not good) and I couldn't pick it up bc it was so messy and sloppy. The enchilada was extremely salty. Horrible experience. Manager is rude and unprofessional. My husband and I brought our family to this establishment tonight(7/16) after having a bad experience at Pizza ranch and leaving before we even went into the restaurant. We sat down and the four of us only got one basket of chips with one salsa, when there were four of us. We ask for another basket of chips and salsa since we never ended up having a waiter and only had been helped one time by the manager, we had to ask another waiter to get them. They return with only one basket and no other salsa like we asked for. We ended up ordering our food about 20 minutes later and got our food, but they didn't bring out my grandsons food. They completely forgot about his meal. They came back 15 minutes later with the wrong food for him. Had to wait ANOTHER half an hour for him to get his chicken nuggets and fries. The chips were incredibly stale and so hard that it cut our mouths. The food was cold. In total, we spent an hour and 20 minutes at this restaurant because of the dilemma with my grandsons food. The manager who ended up being our waiter only came back once or twice. We complained and the manager offers to take off 75 cents of the kids meal. Even though our food with horrible, cold and not even enjoyable. The manager just gave excuses and said they could not do anything more than take 10% off of the kids meal. I have never been so disgusted and unhappy with an experience in a very long time. But this place has a history with being inconsistent and having bones in their chicken. We hadn't gone here in over three years because the last time we had bones in our chicken enchiladas. Two different times this happened and after the second time, we finally complained about it that time. The general manager blamed us and said "well, if you know there was going to be bones, why did you get this" and did nothing to fix the problem or make the experience right. This restaurant has a history of this behavior and treatment of customers but we decided to give them another try. Safe to say, we regret making this decision. When my husband was about to leave, he spoke to the manager and expressed how unhappy he was with the experience. And the manager had the audacity to call us a "difficult table" all because we asked for an extra basket of chips. Manager is unprofessional and needs to learn how to treat customers. I called the restaurant back and asked the manager what made us a difficult table, and she says that it was because we asked for extra chips. Realistically, when you have a table of 4 people, one small basket of chips is not enough. After almost a decade of inconsistency and bad experiences at this establishment, I can safetly safe we will never return. Spent almost one hundred dollars on cold food that tasted horrible, only to have to wait over a half an hour for our food and another half our for a kids meal because THEY forgot his food and brought him out the wrong food. Do not waste your time or money on this place. Unless maybe you are just going for drinks at the bar, the food is not worth it. Neither is the treatment of the employees and managers. They do nothing to fix their own mistakes and mishapes and blame the customers. They are incredibly stingy and in every single bad experience we've had over the last decade we have lived in the apple valley/laveville area, they have not once have they ever made it right when they mess up or have less than acceptable service/food. We've had probably ten bad experiences in the last decade, but after 3 years we thought maybe the establishment would have gotten better. Some things never change though. There are way better Mexican restaurants in the area. I strongly advise not to waste your hand earned money on a place that doesn't even care about their customers or their experiences. read more

A friend born and raised in Lakeville swears by Theresa's for the classic chips-and-salsa experience you don't often get in the Cities, so on a recent visit we stopped in. We were feeling snacky so opted for the complimentary chips and salsa for the table, plus the large guac and large queso and some margs. I love their salsa - so fresh and delicious! I wish the chops were a bit more salty but they were also warm and fresh. The guac was also fresh and the queso was exactly what we'd hoped for - creamy deliciousness. We had great service - the staff are definitely jokesters with a good sense of humor. The peach margarita was massive and seemed a bit pricey, but when we took a sip we knew why: that thing was boozy! Reasonably priced, good service, and the classic flavors you love. Decor and friendly staff gets 5 pts food is definitely 0 points . It gave us stomach ache. Chimichanga was -5 points soggy outside with boiled no flavor chicken , guac tasted old no rice. Cancun burrito was ok but it was fajita wrapped in burrito with cheese sauce. Red salsa was gross and bland and old. The portions were huge the food looked good but didn't taste good. As a adult now, I have grown up going to this Teresa's location! Tonight's specific occasion was a mother daughter date! We walked in and like always, got seated quickly. The customer service is and has always been great! Ordering was quick with follow up as requested and the fastest food delivery ever upon ordering! I want to continue with the most amazing reviews but unfortunately the food itself was not quite as great. I ordered the pick two (that comes with rice and beans), specifying a Chili Relleno and a Chile con Queso. It was brought super quick but upon receiving it, the plate was hot but the food was just barely warm. My Chile con Queso tortilla was so soggy I could not find it under the toppings. And unfortunately my Chili Relleno was so soggy that upon cutting it, some cheese came out but quickly stopped as it was not thoroughly heated. It was not crispy in the slightest and instead was a soggy, cold, wet texture. The rice and beans were warm, their normal, enjoyable way. Also, the server took our order and one of us asked for a supreme for our pick two, it was not brought out that way but we just decided to not say anything. The service from the waiters was great, my water being filled almost immediately upon being finished. And the waitress helped us find the app we wanted and brought it within two minutes. Unfortunately our entrees were not so great which brings us to wonder if we would come back for food, maybe an app and a drink but who knows. Service great, food not so great. EXCELLENT!! We had been driving all around town looking for a good mexican restaurant, tried 4 or 5 places before finding Teresa's. And we are hooked, we will absolutely be back!! The building inside is really nice, fancier than your usual mexican restaurant, i loved it. Waitress was very nice, very happy to be there. Chips and salsa were great, perfect chips, not too thick , not too thin. Salsa was really good, tiny bit of spice, has good flavor, unlike some other places it taste like plain tomato sauce. My husband ordered the Pastor Especial, marinated pork with pineapple, served with tortillas. it was very good! he wanted to try something new and he was not dissapointed, would get it again! I ordered the Fiesta Burrito, its huge, you could easily share it with someone, but it was so good you might not want to. Didn't get to take any pics of the food, but we got takeout recently and I loved everything we got overall! I got the shredded chicken quesadilla which came with pico de gallo, sour cream, and guacamole and lettuce. It was a large serving and it had lots of flavor. The chicken was super tender. I loved the flavor of the pico de gallo. Wish it came with more of it ! My husband got a California burrito which tasted amazing, albeit a bit soggy with all the sauce that was on it. His was a huge portion as well, bigger than mine! It has a lot of flavor as well but wasn't really edible the next day because of how soggy it was. The meal came with a large bag of chips and small salsa container. The chips were good, slightly more on the plain side though. There wasn't enough salsa for all the chips. The salsa was pretty mild. Staff were friendly and efficient. Their food was delicious and plentiful. Their menu was extensive, especially if you enjoy fajitas. They have 6-8 options of fajitas alone! I don't partake in alcoholic beverages, but they have a separate bar room with TVs for sporting events. I think they will be my go to place for Mexican cravings, they have everything and I've only begun to sample their menu. read more

The entire staff work together to ensure everyone is taken care of quickly. Chips & queso are a must to start with. And a margarita as big as your head. Recently visited here again at my son's request. "They have the best fried ice cream", he said. First of all delighted a mature man seated us in his section with high-back booths. This elder treated us with kindness and care as I requested "a step ladder" to get into my seat. (Laughing). Oh yah, the beginning of a great dining experience. Eh. It's not great, but affordable and curbs the craving for Mexican food. We went on a Tuesday with a large group and were able to get seated right away. The waiter came by eventually and we were able to get our drinks ordered, but it was a long time until we saw him again. The chips and salsa were stale and salsa bland. The queso we ordered to share as a table was good, but we had to ask for fresh chips that ended up being much better. For my meal, I got the street tacos. You get to pick 3 meats for your tacos and it comes with rice and beans. I got Al Pastor, Carnitas, and Carne Asada. The carnitas was by far the best. It was flavorful and delicious. The Al Pastor was really fatty and had a weird aftertaste. The carne asada was fine. Everyone else at the table was just "meh" with their food too. The margaritas were like pretty bad. The lime flavor was really artificial tasting and the color was similar to a highlighter. Definitely no real lime juice in those. Pros: kid friendly, big menu, good queso. It has been a while since I visited Teresa's, today was a bit of a mixed experience. The tortilla soup was excellent and a meal in itself, super tasty and loaded with chicken. Presented in a bowl full to the brim topped with luscious fresh avocados and a generous side of tortilla strips. The Burrito California seemed more like a pricy à la carte offering . The flavors were good but there were no sides on the plate a bit pricy for what it was. The thing that they are doing to sabotage themselves is scrimping on the cleaning and maintenance of the ladies rest room. To say that it smelled funky is an understatement. First off, free chips and salsa came out seconds after we sat down, nice.The menu is pretty big with many different options to choose from. I decided to try the three entree combo plate with a chorizo burrito, a chicken chimi, and a chile relleno. The portion sizes are huge so that was a huge plus but the food was only so so at best. My chile relleno was cold and soggy in the middle, it reminded me of what happens to a Hot Pocket when you nuke it for too little. The chicken in my chimi was also very dry and tasteless. The chorizo burrito though was pretty good. I also ordered my plate supreme but it did not come out with cheese, which the menu said it did... This place is awesome. The food, the portions and the price are spot on. For Father Day I ordered catering for 8-10... there was enough for 20 people! The staff is usually always pleasant. I had one experience that the manager took care of and was very kind about the issue. Word to the wise: It's always busy after 4, so be prepared to wait. I typically get mole sauce, and green chile sauce. The meat seems to be slow cooked with salsa and just shreds apart inside. This place is much bigger than the Golden Valley location. There seems to be a side room, where you can hold a party. Not sure if it costs anything, or if it is backup dining space. We started with a basket of "the bomb" tortilla chips and fresh tasting salsa. I am glad our hostess recommended the cheese dip because we all inhaled it. Flaming cheese fajitas? Yes, please!! The fajitas came out with great presentation, the cheese was on fire! Sizzling steak, chicken and veggies with cheesy goodness intermingling, it was so tasty. With 3 tortillas, lettuce, beans, rice, tomatoes, sour cream and guacamole to accompany my flaming plate, I am stuffed. My husband had a fajita with veggies, steak, chicken, pork and a towering skewer of shrimp. The kids had a chicken quesadilla and an enchilada sampler and they were full and happy. This place is my new favorite mexican resturant in MN! I came in for food yesterday while I was out car shopping. Ive heard so many great things about this place from so many people that I just had to try it! All of the great things I heard were true. When I came in, we were greeted with the biggest and most ginuine smile from the guy that sat us. It deffinatly wasnt the fake, omg I only smile beacuse I work here smile. We were immideatly seated and greeted by a server with a ginuine smile too. The service was actually that rare kind of service that is hard to find these days in the resturant industry. The place was super clean and well decorated. I had alot of fun looking around at the sunbraros. After we ordered, we were brought fresh chips and salsa. Omg! The chips and salsa were one of the best parts of the meal. It actually felt like being home in California and getting mexican food there! We went on and I realized they had tamales which I will need to go back and try someday! Its been so long sence ive had a good tamale. I actually ended up getting the 2 for 8 special off their lunch menue. I chose the beef tostada and the chicken chimmichanga. Im actually usually not a big fan of ground beef, but this beef was seasoned to perfection. The chicken was perfectly seasoned as well.
