What to expect: A lot of walking but, there are frequent stops to listen to historical accounts. They do mention to come prepared as far as hydration but just note that you will have to know where to look for the nearest bathroom should you need it. The Gardener tour ends at the Gardner so, if you don't know where the nearest shop or bar that has bathrooms is... it's gonna have to wait until then. Be prepared to go over time if the tour ends on an investigation (if it's offered). Sometimes, the energy is just alive! Also, don't be afraid to ask questions or for clarification on historical accounts. They are very knowledgeable and honest in their history and in their paranormal experiences. They can only do so much as far as safety. They do wait for the appropriate times to cross streets but they remind you to be diligent in your own safety. There is traffic and not everyone yields to pedestrians. Be aware of street signs and cars. They also give heads up on sketchy pedestrians and such. But, again, you need to do your part and make sure you are alert when you spot anything odd. Call it out if you see something that others didn't. We all want to enjoy the tour as peacefully as possible. My personal experience went well! I hope with this info, others can enjoy themselves without any surprises. I had overheard others in my tour about not knowing they'd have to walk a lot or how thirsty they were and where bathrooms are but, I was annoyed if they even read the posts they gave. They do give a heads up. If anything, they (EPGT) should keep reiterating just to make sure it gets across and sticks better for people. Was a fun experience and the in depth history tour of downtown El Paso was awesome. Typically why I love to do Ghost Tours. Was my first with EPGT. Do recommend it especially if you are simply wanting to do something unique. It is just something to do too. :) Guides were nice and very energetic. Do I wish the Soto hotel was accessible? Yes and NO. lol. Just curious. The Gardner Hotel is pretty neat to step into a time warp. The night I went, I really did not feel anything out of the ordinary or bad. I was pretty comfortable in the dark, did get a slight headache not knowing cause it was past my bed time or the "spirits" wanting to penetrate my mind! Couple of people claimed they saw shadows along the stairs. Bummer, I did not, and I sat closest to them. Anyhow it was more intimate and hands on than other tours so loved that part. May go again when they do another site to investigate! read more

Tour was fantastic. Very in depth on paranormal which was fascinating. Only thing I would improve a little cleaner basement before someone trips and offer a small bottle of water as refreshment. Perhaps have a display of el paso ghost tour merchandise to purchase at the end of the tour. read more

Be prepared. You start out with a good walk and history about El Paso, which was the real "wild west" you see in old movies. Gun fights, lawlessness, staging for the Oregon trail, famous gunslingers, etc. As the tour goes on, there is a realness about the spirit world that can be scary towards the end when you enter a basement. For those faint of heart you can just not go there and say good night. If you do go, you may see and experience the unexplainable. read more

So me and my wife wanted to finally go on a ghost tour and we ended up trying them out first, but please please don't waste your time and money! There's a girl that makes the best sidekick that helps the led investigator, she seems to be the only one that sees all the activities and shadows!! Did I mention it's like 1000 degrees in there with mold all over the place!! You waste about 30 minutes hearing about all there gear and how it worked before, lucky us huh! I went on the tour of sites downtown and the De Soto Hotel. I am pretty skeptical, but I enjoy ghost tours to hear the stores and learn about historical sites. I went with a date, because it seemed like something different and interesting. The guides were knowledgeable and good storytellers. At the De Soto, it was super creepy, I kept feeling like the young man standing next to me was inching really close, but then when I'd look over, he was several feet away? "Something" also brushed against, or grabbed my arm when there was nothing around me. I would recommend that they arrange a bathroom break since the tour is 2+ hours. Also, at the De Soto there are bins of moldy garbage, they should probably clean that out if people are going to be down there. read more

Went to this tour this Friday 5/14/21. We had a great time the tour was very informative. Both guides were very friendly and gave us 10 star customer service. We especially liked how we got to do some paranormal investigation. This tour is WELL WORTH the money. We have paid 2x the amount for other tours in other areas and we were not as satisfied as we were with this tour. Went with my little sister and brother in law. We had a lot of fun and I learned a lot about downtown even though I've lived in the tri-city area nearly my whole life. It was hot down in the basement but it made the temperature changes more noticeable. My brother in law and I got a lot of good pictures and we were super creeped out. I'm taking my husband with me in April when we come back. Not sure he'll appreciate the ghosts but he will love the history. read more

One of the tour guides spent a lot of time talking in the background. She was very loud. It made it really hard to hear some of the stories when Leon was talking. And it ruined a good chunk of my night. Also when we went in the the actual hotel every 2 seconds she was either seeing, smelling or hearing things. Five stars because I was incredibly interesting in all the history the tour guides provide you with. In one short walk down one street there is so much history behind our beautiful buildings down town. From architecture to stories of shootings I was totally in awe. Then we went into the basement of an old building right next to Nolita Bistro. There we listened to the spirits through their equipment. Unfortunately didn't get much activity. I will be back to hopefully get my shirt tugged on. 5 stars over all. read more

The tour was pretty interesting and definitely a first for me. I personally didn't see anything paranormal aside from a few flashlights turning on. They do advise you in the beginning that this tour isn't a ghost hunt, that it's more of an investigation, and you may or may not experience anything paranormal. I knew what to expect and went into it with an open mind. The tour was interesting and sure was spooky being in the basement of that hotel. The only thing I could mention was that I personally felt there were way to many people in one tour. If I could give them some advice it would be to break larger groups into smaller ones and have one team member from EP ghost tours escort each group separately. Aside from that the tour was great and I had a good time. I may consider coming back when it is less crowded. I went to a tour recently and I am hard to spook. I actually was pleasantly entertained. I got some weird vibes at the 2 locations we visited and I really did my best to try and not get sucked into any fake bs but some stuff happened that I just can't explain. Great historical information and facts as we moved on the the 2nd location through the streets. Can't wait to review the cameras and recordings we took. Overall, I would partake in again. read more

This was a great experience. While I didn't have any concrete experiences to change my mind about the paranormal, there were some things on the tour that surprised me. The group that puts this on tries very hard to give the tourist a genuine investigative experience, and they involve every participant. They bring technical equipment and put the layman directly in the middle of a real ongoing paranormal investigation. It was well worth the $15-$20. I would recommend this over a movie or play any day, and I plan to return again. I would not bring children or vulnerable guests along, because the subject matter is especially heavy. WASTE OF MONEY!!!! I went online to buy our tickets during the day but their site kept crashing, so I called them and they said they would hold our tickets for us and we could just get them at the door. The tickets are $15 online or $20 at the door. I assumed that because it was their fault I couldn't by the tickets before hand that I would still be able to pay the $15 for them at the door. The guy tried to charge me $20 a ticket and then was RUDE when I argued that I shouldn't have to pay the door price. The guides were AWFUL. We thought we would get some sort of history of the buildings we were exploring; when the building was built, who built it, what was going on in EP at that time etc. The only history we got was some half assed story about a doctor they "think" worked with handicapped children. It was like they got together and speculated about what they thought went on in that building instead of doing actual research. Then, they TAUNTED the ghosts!!! They repeatedly insulted them to try and get a reaction out of them. It was so weird and such a a joke. We will not be recommending this tour to anyone. read more

This was a great ghost tour. I've done many in different cities and this was right up there. You have to know that these are usually lots of history about the city, buildings, and happenings around where you walk. They gave us lots of info on downtown and I loved it. I thoroughly enjoyed myself at the tour. I love learning about my city, and I thought the stories were really interesting. I would recommend however the tour guide use less names, I don't know about everyone else, but I was getting confused with the names. I know its part of the story, but I don't know that's my two cents. I remember Atross the architect of most of the buildings. this was the second time going to the de soto hotel, and did not experience anything. the last time I went they took us to the golden eagle, or double eagle saloon a few blocks away and I backed up into a couple behind me trying to get away from a showdown coming outta the darkness, I also saw a "Mr. Burns" looking creature in the far back corner of the basement calling out to me and enticing me to continue toward it, but was saved by one of the volunteers, then I took two pictures of the darkness behind me, the first one was just an empty room, the second, however, there was a face coming at me from out of the dark, something was after me that night. all in all, I highly recommend this tour. the only reason for the 4 star rating instead of 5 was the let down of the de soto hotel, but I think that's just the ghosts not wanting to interact with me. I've yet to try the other tours, but I will definitely attend them all. read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY! The one star I am giving this company is extremely generous. Our "tour guide" literally walked us around the block. He did not take us inside any buildings. His only discussions were of his personal life, and were extremely irrelevant to the "tour." He made racist, offensive, and historically inaccurate comments. So pretty much we drove from las cruces and paid $20 a person to walk around the block and listen to some moron blab. It was such an awful experience we were literally waiting for Ashton Kutcher to pop out telling us we've been punk'd. A member from my group called the company the following business day to request refunds. Our refund was denied, and we were only offered a second your? Ahem, why would we waste our time and resources driving back to El Paso for the same BS again? Eventually we gave up on trying to get our refund. What a waste of an evening.. Honestly, this tour was so boring my friend and I actually left while they were going from one building to the next. First, they had us standing on a street corner for over 20 minutes while this guy just went on and on about "don't scare your friends, don't antagonize the spirits, people have been scratched..." Boring. Once we go inside the first building, it smells horrible, it's filthy and hot as heck. So we stand there and he talks and talks and talks some more. The majority of what he was saying wasn't even relevant. There is minimal historical information provided. Down in the basement, an hour later when the tour finally started, he wanted to talk some more. Then they seriously had to change batteries in half of their "ghost busting" devices. I was more annoyed than anything. They were unprofessional enough to have their employees tune out during the speeches and scroll through FB. My recommendation, take your $$ and go see a scary movie. Even a sucky one will be much more worth your time. read more
