We came during the Baja 1000 and a lot of restaurants were full. We were happy that El Patio accepted our group of 4. The servers were very nice. They informed us upfront the meals would take 45-60 minutes, as they have some big parties inside. Again, we were happy to have a place to sit and eat. We ordered some drinks and the server brought out chips and guacamole "on the house". The Cadillac margarita was not good. Way too sweet and didn't look like grand manier was dropped in. For $15(!!!!), I expect much better. It was also delivered in a small glass - most expensive drink in mexico I had this trip, and it sucked. Food was actually quicker than they mentioned. Probably 30-40 minutes, which was nice. They had some sort of karaoke on the patio that had some tough moments. We were happy to eat and head out. I ordered a rib eye with shrimp and baked potato. Presentation was nice, but the flavor did not follow through on either the shrimp or steak. Both were very bland. The baked potato was the best part, until a shrimp vein fell in the sour cream and I got a lil grossed out. I was ready to leave. Prices- high. Food- less than mediocre. Service- excellent. Better places in town but again, we appreciated them taking us on a busy night for the town. The service alone took it from 1-2 stars up to 3.
Fantastic food and American prices. What we got: Milcajete Mixto - 5* the steak was amazing and I am not a steak person. I really, really loved the shrimp too. My partner thought the chicken was excellent (I thought it was decent). The cheese block was average but the cheese that melted to the bottom of the pot was wonderful , especially mixed into the soup/sauce they poured over the meat. I wasn't a fan of the cactus. I wish the fish came with more tortillas but other than that this was a fantastic choice and I enjoyed it immensely! I'd definitely recommend this. I split it with my partner and we took home plenty of leftovers.
We had the shrimp tacos and steak fajitas. We ordered both with flour tortillas. Our food arrived very hot, unfortunately the steak fajitas came with corn instead of flour tortillas. It took about 10 minutes to get new flour tortillas for the fajitas. At that time, the fajitas were on the cold side (they weren't served on a hot skillet). The food was good otherwise. The 5$ margarita was strong and good, the limonada was fresh squeezed as well.
The waiter was very patient and understanding. I love the atmosphere! We sat outside and was able to see/hear the guitarist playing. The food was good, except for the fish tacos... it wasn't bad but very bland. Overall, nice place to eat and relax after being on a cruise ship for a few days.
The restaurant was very nice looking! We really enjoyed the sangria and strawberry mojito. We got a variety of food which was good. The sopa de almeja was very creamy and delicious. The dinner options were a bit limited for my liking but still good. I enjoyed the sautéed veggies with the chipotle chicken breast! Overall, it was a good dining experience.

Was very good and portions were good. Only complaint was service was on the slow side. Not terrible. Just very relaxed. (We were hungry and in a hurry I guess). Would repeat.
We visited El Patio after we stepped off our cruise ship. We wanted to eat at a breakfast spot and happened to find this restaurant. The gentleman who greeted us answered any questions about their food on the menu before we gave it a try. The restaurant and bar are very nice. The menu has a lot of food choices. I had red chilaquiles with scrambled eggs. My family also had a omelette plate, green chilaquiles, and mole chilaquiles. The coffee was pretty good. They offer Penafiel bottle water. Before you get your breakfast they bring a basket of pan dulce and Chicharron soup. The soup was amazing. Great flavor! The service was good and the staff were very friendly. When we go back to Ensenada we will come back!
I am giving El Patio 5 stars for the best margaritas!!! We have been coming here for years because their drinks are fabulous and super cheap in my opinion... especially for how much booze goes into them lol. You cannot go wrong with a cadillac margarita. Originally they never had food, but now they have a menu and we tested the hawaiian shrimp... absolutley a must have!!! They were so delicious!! The bathrooms are always clean and the staff is always friendly. We love coming here.
This place was referred to us by a local, who mentioned that it's very clean and legit and that the food wouldn't get us sick. To be honest, the food was just mediocre--but that might be because we had incredible food the day before at another spot. The restaurant itself is beautiful and fairly large, and the portions were pretty generous. One thing that stood out was that Ensenada seems to have a lot of street vendors. While we were eating, one actually walked right into the restaurant and came up to our table trying to sell us flowers. I guess it could be considered romantic, but he had already approached us outside earlier as well. The staff also felt a bit standoffish. Service was slow, and no one really came back to check if we needed anything. Our nachos ended up being about $25, though they did accept USD. It's in one of the nicer areas, but overall I've definitely had better experiences. read more
We arrived here, went into the bar sat bar top and ordered mexican coffees. This was my first time and for me it was a hit. Then as we sat enjoying them we decided to eat. We moved on our request to a patio table to enjoy a meal. The service was excellent at this place. The food was great the beverages good. Everything from the coffee to margaritas, to the mojito was tasty. The flautas crunchy yet the meat was tender. Chips were fresh, and everything nicely presented. Bathrooms were very clean as was the bar and patio and restaurant. I would return here as we enjoyed it. read more
We recently went on a cruise and docked in Ensenada for the day. Of course... everyone wants to party. Well, this place, I was fortunate to find. Off the main strip of where all the debauchery happens, this cozy spot was absolutely delicious, and GREAT drink specials. Super accommodating, and we even had live music. If you're like me and sometimes hesitant on locations or cleanliness, this spot was definitely a good spot. read more

My husband and I found this place after we disembarked from our cruise ship! The restaurant is walking distance from the port and easy to find using google maps We ordered the green and red chilaquiles and it was pretty good! The service was also great! read more

Great place for simple breakfast. They have plenty of seating in or outside. The location is close to all hotels. The resturant was clean and had great service. They also except USD but do ask at what exchange rate they accept. read more

Watch out as these guys are CHEATERS. When we got our bill we noticed that some extra items were added. We let the staff know and after pretending like they were surprised they corrected the bill. Unfortunately, seems like a very common practice in Ensenada. Three out of four restaurants we ate at tried the trick of charging for extra items we didn't order. So, watch out and always inspect your bill very carefully!!! I ordered two tortilla soups for the kids and asked our server if it is spicy or not. He assured that it is not. Guess what??? It was so spicy that kids couldn't eat it. The rest of the food was ok however the whole experience was destroyed by serving the kids with spicy soups and incorrect billing. This place is not good for groups with kids. read more

One thing about this Gastro bar you will not be disappointed with the drinks. The best drinks I've had anywhere in Mexico. The food was good nothing fantastic, I finished everything on my plate just wasn't my style, however oh wait I can't wait to have another drink from this Gastro bar. Our server was excellent, very knowledgeable about the menu, I was completely satisfied with his service, our bill is like $45 I had three or four drinks and dinner, Wagner had a couple drinks and dinner, my tip to the waiter matched my bill. Definitely will be going here again, especially for the drinks! read more

Very traditional and authentic food great bar, outside sitting in the Sun beautiful the view the fresh sea breeze, inside full bar awesome in downtown in Ensenada Mexico by the beach And the prices are just right for Mexico enjoy. read more

First time at a bar and it was a great experience!! Stopped by while our Carnival Cruise was docked in Ensenada, and we were kindly welcomed by the bartender. We each ordered a margarita and he later even threw in free pina colada shots! It was a great place to relax during our time in Mexico. Service was exceptional, I definitely enjoyed my time here! read more

This place is so amazing comeback about 3 nights in a row Juan Czrlos is a master bartender who made some signature mixed drinks only found here with him and they were amazing!!! Beatriz is another bartender that was just the sweetest! Yall need to swing by here! read more
The tamarin margaritas were amazing. To make sure we had about 8 total with beers and nachos. It was very relaxing hanging outside with friends. There is also an awesome seafood food cart around the corner. Great stop without the tourist overload at this bar. read more
