It was another weekend away in baja, and we decided to drive down to Ensenada to have dinner one weekend evening. The drive south was not bad at all, it took a little under an hour to get there from Tijuana. The scenic toll road is always the best route south. When we got to the area, we were able to find parking along the street. Parking spots were ample, and not a far walk from the restaurant. The area was safe and clean, which is great for what seems to be the restaurant row of Ensenada. La Ensenada is a small spot, but fortunately, the place was not packed. We were shown to our table immediately. Once or waiter came to take our order, I ordered the filet mignon. The food did not take long to get to us. My filet mignon dish was complete with rice, potatoes, and grilled veggies. The filet mignon was bathed in teriyaki sauce, which was an ok addition. The only other place I've had filet mignon doused in sauce is in South Carolina, and it was good, albeit heavy. Not so here, it was good, but not to where it would leave me comatose. The service was efficient and attentive. We had a great dinner, and were taken cared of well. Most definitely a good spot for dinner in Ensenada, I recommend it.

Simply amazing food. So good. Everything and I mean everything was delicious. The Arachera made my girlfriend swoon and she is the pickiest eater on the North American continent.

I was surprised to find this restaurant empty! I ordered the fettuccine shrimp and scallops and it was the best I've had in Ensenada! My partner ordered the fish of the day with veggies and enjoyed it very much. The service is great and friendly! Provecho!

This is such a cute place. Across street from Hotel Cortez. I went there to have a drink 20 minutes before closing and the waitresses were nice and friendly. They have a nice atmosphere inside the restaurant....super modern and contemporary too.

what an awesome little spot just off to the side of the street. it sits on the corner of the side…read moreroad to which we turn in to get to Casa Encinares B&B. It's an outdoor wooden shack, no doors. we noticed it because there was a sign that said "beer" and we saw lots of people there. our host at the B&B told us we must try it before we leave, so we did. as soon as we sat down at the bar, a big tall gentleman came to greet us. he spoke perfect english and made some awesome recommendations. BF had a couple of beers (cant remember what they were, but i believe it was local), and because i wasn't planning on drinking more (we just got done with a small winery tasting tour), but Chris recommended i try the cocktiel de guayaba, its a bourbon cocktail with guava! It was only 40 pesos and if the owner recommends me.....why would i refuse? we were super hungry so we wanted something light and Chris recommended the pulpo ceviche (100 pesos). My drink was ridiculously tasty as i am a huge guava fan and the bourbon balances the sweetness of the guava with the liquor. the pulpo (octopus) ceviche was wonderful and delicious with just the right portion and served with thin tortilla chips. Chris was so kind and chatted with us almost the entire time we were there. i HIGHLY recommend stopping by here for a quick drink and light bite even if you are here to explore the wines in this wine country. my only mistake was that we came here after having drank so much already from visiting all the wineries!
