We were a group of 7 that had dinner at this restaurant after the Newport-Ensenada sailing race. This is a very small place but they have seating in the street. The food was excellent and the staff tried to accommodate all of us. We tried the octopus, the shrimp tacos, one of the pasta dishes, the tuna and a few other things that I can't remember. The staff was very.plesant. They were short on some of the items on the menu but offered to substitute at no extra charge. Nice gesture. read more

We were in Ensenada wanted to try some local style Mexican food and we ended up finding this zem. Though we ended up going at lunch time their breakfast options were available and we ended up eating it. The food took little time to make but was really authentic and very tasty, we tried chilaquiles and omelette's, they were superb. The restaurant is very clean and very upscale. It was another weekend away in baja, and we decided to drive down to Ensenada to have dinner one weekend evening. The drive south was not bad at all, it took a little under an hour to get there from Tijuana. The scenic toll road is always the best route south. When we got to the area, we were able to find parking along the street. Parking spots were ample, and not a far walk from the restaurant. The area was safe and clean, which is great for what seems to be the restaurant row of Ensenada. La Ensenada is a small spot, but fortunately, the place was not packed. We were shown to our table immediately. Once or waiter came to take our order, I ordered the filet mignon. The food did not take long to get to us. My filet mignon dish was complete with rice, potatoes, and grilled veggies. The filet mignon was bathed in teriyaki sauce, which was an ok addition. The only other place I've had filet mignon doused in sauce is in South Carolina, and it was good, albeit heavy. Not so here, it was good, but not to where it would leave me comatose. The service was efficient and attentive. We had a great dinner, and were taken cared of well. Most definitely a good spot for dinner in Ensenada, I recommend it. read more

The great Tomahawk steak served meaty and juicy with roasted veggies truffle fries accompanied with a mixed greens salad with cranberries and sliced almonds. The salads tarty-crunchiness gives it a purpose but allows it to feel Empty without any sort of moisture. I would have preferred the salad be off to the side instead. I must say though what blew my mouth was the ingenious idea of bread slightly toasted (rather than tortilla chips) served with fruit salsas. My favorite was the guava flavored salsa. Kudos to the chef Nonetheless having something different in Baja is always good. read more

YUM! We came across this place thanks to yelp. After 2 days in Ensenada we wanted a "nicer" meal with more seafood included of course. While this restaurant is located in the tourist part of town their prices are incredible for the quality and quality you get! Great and welcoming staff. I can't say much else but you really have to come here when in Ensenada. They also have local craft beer. read more

This is such a cute place. Across street from Hotel Cortez. I went there to have a drink 20 minutes before closing and the waitresses were nice and friendly. They have a nice atmosphere inside the restaurant....super modern and contemporary too. read more

I rarely give 5 stars. Yet, this restaurant is very very good. Tried the octopus appetizer and it was grilled to perfection. It was served with bread and three different sauces. Just enough heat but not too much. Then we had the braised pork leg and pasta with shrimp and scallops. The pork leg was falling off the bone. Super flavorful. We assume main chef wasn't there when we had a dinner. Unfortunately all dishes we ate were wrong done way. So disappointed in middle of sea foods heaven. We had a caesars salad and a clam soup, sailer's fettuccine and tuna pineapple dish. Salad and soup was way too salty. Saltiness made my tung became num. Fettuccine was way over cooked. It's barely holding the shape. Tuna is the one make us laugh. Pineapple sauce, potatoes, onion,carrots and tuna, This dish ... each ingredient are fight each other. They are not supporting each other. Carrots looks very dried and burnt but it's raw. It was rock hard and very difficult to slice. Thin sliced onion doesn't want to say anything. Potato was cooked but doesn't complement tuna. Pineapple sauce wasn't sauce yet. Felt like it came from the can and boiled little bit with juice from the can. The tuna was way over cooked. Not seasoned properly and dried like sponge. Sweetness from Caned pineapple doesn't help the tuna at all. I know it's pandemic era. It's hard to maintain business with less customers. That's why they should present simpler menu each day. Something like one pasta and a soup dish , several seasonal main dishes. The quality is much important than variety of the menu, I think. read more

We came here based on the Yelp ratings and we were not disappointed. The service, food and atmosphere were spot on. I enjoyed the catch of the the day (marlin) prepared with wild rice and sautéed fresh squash, tomatoes and mushrooms. My husband had the salmon, my son had the Guadalupe chicken, and my daughter had the shrimp ceviche. Everything was fabulous. We drank local chenin blanc and Tempranillo, and topped off the meal with a piece of chocolate cake. I would highly recommend this place. read more

Excellent meal! I ordered the "Gobernador" shrimp tacos and the Rib Eye steak. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and quantity of food. I paired my meal with a glass of blended red wine. We arrived about an hr before they closed and the restaurant was empty, thus our expectations were not very high, but man, we were proven wrong. We loved it!
