This place is exquisite. Situated directly on the Ocean in Ensenada Mexico. We were going to grab a drink after leaving a brewery just a few blocks down the street. We were the only people in the establishment. Please take note that this is over July 4th weekend & Mexico shut the border of Ensenada and surrounding cities to ensure it was not overcrowded with people who don't reside there. I think that was a good idea. It was interesting. The law states that if we wanted to have something to drinks we had to order food. We had just finished a delicious meal & weren't hungry, so fries it was. Lol. It was worth it. Keep in mind that if you want another drink you are required to order more food. I believe our servers names was Jorge. I apologize if I'm wrong. He was so kind, so nice, & so friendly & informative. We had some questions regarding the closures & he asked his Manager about it (it was where he had originally learned about them from the beginning. The menu I will say looked spectacular. Unfortunately as someone who does not eat meat or fish, there were only a few options on the menu. The entire menu looked tasty delicious & the few vegan/vegetarian options would be worth coming back for. It was currently closed due to COVID-19 however they have a Sky Bar on the rooftop which I can only imagine how gorgeous that view must be. ***Lastly, please be mindful that these are weird times in this world we live in. As we are all trying hard to get back to what is the new normal, remember that if don't want to follow the rules of any establishment (whether a restaurant grocery store, gas station, etcetera) you deffo do not have too; just remember they also don't have to serve you in any capacity that they don't want. Love you all.

Came pretty late in the night . Got the shrimp risotto. Sooooo good. 9ne of the best risottos I ever had. Wish they had desserts because yelp reviews made them look so good. Will definitely come back to try the desserts.

This is our favorite spot south of the border. The view is spectacular without the ocean breeze making you too cold. The staff is super accommodating and go above and beyond with their service and the food is fresh and delicious. We enjoyed some wine and fresh shrimp. The decor is so inviting. We can't wait to come back to enjoy more menu items.

Great quality food. Both of our meals you can tell were made with the best ingredients. The margarita was one of the best margaritas in Ensenada.

Great view, ambiance. The food was fresh and delicious. Service was great and our host was attentive and friendly. I'll definitively be back!

Planta Baja is one of the standout restaurants in El Sauzal, which has an up-and-coming restaurant row just north of el centro Ensenada, MX. The food here is delicious and fresh, with large portions, and is plated quite nicely (yes, IG friendly!!). The views of the ocean are great and the service is impeccable. They also have a nice selection of wines and local craft beers. I dined here last weekend with a few friends and we were all impressed. Normally, epic ocean views translate to weak food showings but consider Planta Baja the rare exception. Can't wait to come back here upon my next visit to Ensenada, MX to try even more of their excellent fare. **Pro-tip:** Pay in pesos using your CC (your CC will give you the best exchange rate MXN to USD). You will save around 10% this way versus charging in dollars. Most restaurants work this way in Baja Cali.

    After sunset, margaritas and dinner.

Views were great! I got the shrimp risotto and loved it!! Everyone who tried it said it was the best thing. I didn't get to try any one else's food but it looked delicious. Good place for dinner and drinks. Very spacious for our group of 10 and service was excellent!

Salad with some kind of disgusting spaghetti sauce dressing. Be sure to ask about the dressing options.

This is a fabulous little restaurant on the beach side of the highway on the northern end of town. It's a little hard to find with your GPS but its just across the street and south of the Oxxo by Taqueria el Trailero. The food is fantastic and the view is even better. We started with commentary freshly made bread followed by a fish ceviche rich in flavor and color. The charcuterie and meat board had a nice selection with a satisfying range of favors. The salad did disappoint but only because it was served with a dressing that tasted like bolognese sauce. I thought it was a mistake but by the time the waiter told us it was actually salad dressing we'd given up and moved on. The garlic shrimp were fresh, juicy, flavorful and cooked to perfection. Rissoto was awesome but extremely rich and more fit for sharing than trying to eat the whole thing. Hands down best dish of the night was the pork belly. Epic. Dessert was light and fruity and a perfect finish.

Cheese board and pulpo tostadas, yum!

Planta Baja's food is delicious! Their homemade olives are so good that we bought a batch to take home.

Amazing food! Excellent service. Pork tacos, Fish tacos and the Chefs new dessert creation was a masterpiece.

    Their hamburger

Amazing place to visit, and honestly a "must go"! They have some American dishes that are cooked amazingly, and it was nice if you're stomach can't handle Mexican food for days on end- so I was very excited when I saw the hamburger! The views are amazing, there's multiple options where you'd like to sit and how enclosed you'd like to be or not The ramps are wooden which I loved, gave the place an amazing feel The pina colada was amazing, I couldn't taste alcohol so it was a great sweet drink We had a group of 14 and they accommodated us so well. They gave complimentary bread which was amazing, honestly better than any Panera, Olive Garden, whatever lol Everyone in our group raves about their food!

BEAUTIFUL views, delicious food, and attentive and friendly staff. Highly recommend if you're in Ensenada. They also have vegan options-even my carnivore boyfriend couldn't get enough of the vegan tacos. This place is a can't miss!

Perched on a cliff above the Pacific with nothing but open ocean in front of you, this is honestly one of the most iconic spots in all of Valle and I will die on that hill (pun very much intended). Getting there is part of the experience. You park at the bottom, hop on a shuttle, and ride up a winding dirt road to the bar. The drivers are so fun and honestly the whole shuttle vibe is its own thing. People are dancing, singing, already in a great mood before they even arrive. Instant friends every time. Once you're up top, the drinks are flowing and the sunset views are absolutely unreal. I haven't done a full meal here but the chips alone deserve their own Yelp page. Homemade, crunchy, covered in cheese. I could have just eaten those and been completely happy. Oh and one more thing, and I'm being completely serious: please go to the bathroom. Even if you don't need to. Especially if you don't need to. The views from the restroom might be better than some restaurants I've paid full price to eat at. Bar Bura is one of those places I'll keep coming back to no matter how many times I've been. If you haven't gone yet, fix that immediately.

THE BLACK AND WHITE: The wife and I had a reservation for 6pm at Cuatro Cuatros. The complex has a bar up at the top of the mountain along with airbnbs and a winery at the bottom. We parked our car and was escorted through a plank full of grape vines before getting on a shuttle up the mountain. Before we hopped on the bus, we got to choose a beverage of choice to go up the mountain. I got the modelito (small modelo). The shuttle ride is pretty steep and bumpy so I understand why they have a trained driver to drive. When we got to the top - wow wow wow. Beautiful views of Salsipuedes Bay. We had to walk along the side of the restaurant to get in. For food we got a oaxacan cheese taco, fish and chips with the catch of the day, and a crepe for dessert. For drinks we got a carajillo and a non alcoholic beverage. Everything was great however my favorite bite was the freshly fried fish and chips. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall, we spent around 1800 MXN and had a great time. Beautiful views with good food. Definitely worth checking out once.

Worth every mile of the drive. The setting alone is reason enough to go. You're dining outside in an agave field under century-old oak trees, with wooden boats scattered around and a mezcal tasting room right next door. It's one of those places where you look around and think "how is this real?" The service was super friendly and warm, which just added to the whole laid back Baja vibe. For wine they keep it simple: one red, one white, one rosé. No 12-page list to stress over, just easy and delicious. I respect it. The guacamole comes topped with chapulines and if you haven't had it that way yet, you're honestly missing out. That little crunch changes everything. Now, the cauliflower tacos. I need to talk about the cauliflower tacos. I'm still thinking about them. I will be back specifically for them. Tub was dirty and the stopper didn't work. It was spacious but felt very old and not at all representative of the price point value they advertised. Worst of all, the pillows were uncomfortable and the bed was right behind a thin wall of the high traffic hallway, so I woke up every hour to someone loudly hollering in the hallway. The next morning I nicely explained the noise level and they moved me to another room that had a renovated bathroom and best of all--the bed wasn't on the hallway side. I slept well until construction woke me up at 8:30AM, but that's understandable. I still wouldn't say it changed my mind about the hotel: the hot tub jets don't work, the customer service isn't great (I asked multiple staff members questions and they made a stumped face, left me hanging to find another member and ask them, and then come back to shrug. A "one moment please" goes a long way even if you don't know). The facilities are very dated in general and the only highlight was the tennis court. All in all, it seems like an Airbnb has better value in Ensenada.
