This motel is DISGUSTING--It's a dump. Upon check in you get to deal with a very argumentative employee who forces you to leave a higher deposit than quoted and sign a contract waiver that one would maybe expect at a $3,000/night VRBO. The room was absolutely disgusting and POORLY maintained. Mold in bathroom chipped paint everywhere in the room. Floor was filthy and there was no cold water only boiling hot water -- way too hot for a shower so couldn't take a scalding hot one. There was no refrigerator in the room as promised. Not as described. Very shady place says renovated but there is nothing renovated about it. The negative reviews are 100% accurate. Wish I had seen them before I booked. ---------- update: My response to "Bobby's" unprofessional reply to my rating: Note- there is NO apology! 1. I NEVER insisted on staying anywhere -- how dare you put words in my mouth! 2. Did your crew offer to get me a fridge, NO! Did they fix the water- no! I had medicine and needed a fridge you had NO fridge for me as room depicts having 3. I can't "make pictures look bad." The room was as the photos show--a disaster. The floors were dirty, the mirror had black stains on it, the inside door paint was a mess ( see photo), not to mention the bathroom mold and deteriorating walls. 4. There is no offer to correct the problem, refund me for not providing what is said they will provide in the room listing. Your customer service skills are sub-par. SHAME on you!! Clearly you're only interested in deceiving customers and gas lighting their feedback. I'll will be reporting your email and the hotel to the local health authorities. I am very familiar with the hotel industry. Clearly I'm not alone in this assessment of the hotel.

So my husband booked the room for some reason he has always wanted to stay at this hotel. I think a "Hollywood Feeling" the building does have an older feel to it It was last minute trip and we just need a room for sleep and shower Walk in and i start to do my clean up which I do at every hotel but this one takes the cake Hair all over the sheets, dirt on the floor, what's it looks like a some type of gunk on the wall in the bathroom snd the toilet moved from side to side. Not a wobble when you sit down but it was crooked when I walked in the bathroom Bed beds, towels were old and thin and the cover on the bed was stained. Bed was lumping. I'm just glad I had blankets in my car Room itself was very dusty as well We arrived late so there was no way to find another room or even ask for a refund I hope they start cleaning better and upgrade the rooms I have pictures hopefully I'm able to post I'm almost scared to write the review because the owner will respond but never takes accountability just blames the customer

I will never stay here or their sister property, Nite Inn, again. Check in for El Patio takes place down the road at Nite Inn which means there is no staff on premises to help when problems arise. And we had a major problem when we got to our room and found only one bed when I had booked a double. I called over to the Nite Inn where the man insisted he didn't know we needed two beds because we booked through a third party and weren't informed. First, I highly doubt a third party would leave out an important detail like that. Second, I went through their website which sent me to a third party I had never heard of. Of course, all of the double rooms were booked but he told me that he could get us into one for the second night- for an extra $10 since two beds cost more. I was pretty upset since we had already paid for two beds and weren't getting it. We ended up going online and finding a new hotel and will be disputing any charges with the credit card company.

    Hair on sheets.

Disgusting. We literally just got here and are leaving. We got trapped into a contract. We can't cancel because regardless we still have to pay for the first night. So we are paying to not stay here. Beware. Cigarette burn on the bankers and hair all over. I wouldn't doubt it if there are bed bugs. Going to report this place to the better business bureau. Because they are literally making a business out of taking peoples money not to stay there. On top of everything, they literally had us check in at a different hotel before going to the actual dump we are supposed to be staying in. What a joke. Waste of money. Fraudulent behavior from this place.

Spent 1 night with 2 kids in tow. We were looking for something affordable and close to Universal Studios and The Patio fit the bill. We were very pleased with the place. We reserved a room with 2 queen beds which were comfortable and very clean. We were cold or hot. The room has a ceiling fan and ac if needed. The room is cozy, but small. Think studio apartment without a kitchen. Not a negative but just be aware in case youre expecting more room. The bathroom was clean and spotless. Again, small but it has what you need. The front desk staff were friendly and kind. There was fresh coffee, cookies and loaves. Checking in and out was quick. The front desk has important information about your stay, deposit collected and parking rules; they had some flyers of some restaurants near by Parking is tight!! WiFi was poor, tv was great. We had a pleasant stay and definitely would come back. Its a great place but I took off a star because the room was smaller than I anticipated.

The clerk wasn't outright rude, but for the first several minutes seemed pretentious, like I wasn't good enough to stay there. He didn't introduce himself or ask my name; I introduced myself and asked his name after check-in, and he warmed up a bit. It felt like I'd caught him doing something wrong or arrived before he was ready. I had to ask multiple questions because he didn't offer information or engage. My customer service was on point--his, not so much. I'd been driving all day and was exhausted, wearing very casual clothes, but he felt very judgey. I asked to see the rooms after reading reviews. The first was rundown and not worth the $150 he quoted. He kept going into the back office between questions, implying he was busy or nearly full (there was only one car outside). When I asked to see the other side of the hotel, which had allegedly been updated, he bragged about being fully booked, though I only ever saw three cars. Odd. The second room was just okay, but I was too tired to find another hotel, so I stayed one night. Few things frustrate me more than visible neglect and lack of detail. There were drywall screw heads popping out, scuffed walls, holes, and water-damaged bathroom drywall from a poorly placed glass shower door--crumbling onto the floor. The floor itself was dirty. The outer entry door was peeling badly, shedding bits of clear coating onto the floor and my hands. The blinds appeared to not have been cleaned in months--which should be done regularly. The bed frame was filthy--dust, debris, bits of wrappers and food. It was clearly dirty, with oils, handprints, and dried liquids (I'll leave that to your imagination). The closet doors, off-white, had visible hand grime. The disinfectant wipes I used were brown - yuck. The lamp was dusty, an outlet near the bed had a broken metal piece stuck inside, and both the bathroom vent and hair dryer were caked with dust. The dryer filter hadn't been cleaned in ages. The countertop above the mini fridge was detaching, the bathroom shelf was decaying, and the shower glass hadn't been cleaned. The creamy drip marks on the wall--hopefully conditioner or soap--remained, and the grout was mold-stained. A simple bleach spray would've fixed it. The shower water pressure was awful, with calcification that needs vinegar soaking. It also leaked from the stem. Meanwhile, the sink had too much pressure. The cleaning staff were wonderful--always offering help. The issues here clearly stem from management, not staff. I realize this isn't a four-star hotel and that my standards are higher than average. Having worked in property management and emergency response, I've been in many homes across all conditions and know what "clean" should look like. I attached photos (which don't even capture all of it) so others can decide for themselves. Public beds and showers should be cleaned frequently so dust, germs, and bugs don't build up. The initial clerk did warm up by the end, and wasn't outright rude, just awkward and pretentious at first. When I checked out, a different man was working. He was extremely pushy, insisting I stay longer despite me saying I had to get back on the road. Then he handed me a clipboard and said it was mandatory to fill out--a sheet listing my name, room number, and space for comments, stacked under previous guests' notes. I told him I'd review the hotel online instead. He insisted I fill in each section, so under "comments" I wrote "review on Yelp." Other than being pushy, he was friendly--but it was an annoying end to a stay that wasn't worth the cost. Not the worst stay I've had, but definitely not one I'd repeat.

While it looked superficially clean, there were visible cleanliness issues, including what appeared to be mold or heavy dirt around the sink area and at the top of the shower. Several basic amenities did not work properly: * No hot water for the majority of our stay On Jan 3, after spending the entire rainy day at the amusement park, I returned to the hotel freezing and in need of a hot shower, only to stand in the shower for over 40 minutes waiting for hot water that never came--the water was barely lukewarm * Air conditioning did not work * Shower handle and window knob were loose We contacted the front desk multiple times starting around 10 PM on Jan 3. Staff acknowledged that multiple rooms were experiencing the same hot water issue, yet guests were not notified. We were told room changes were not possible and that refunds were not allowed, even though we considered leaving to stay elsewhere due to the lack of hot water. A maintenance worker came briefly and said he would return but never did. The next morning, after continued follow-up, housekeeping tried to help by preparing another room so we could attempt to shower, but the water was still only lukewarm. Housekeeping staff were kind and did their best, and they deserve credit for their effort. Overall, the lack of hot water, cleanliness concerns, poor communication, and inability to resolve or properly accommodate a known issue made this stay unacceptable. This experience fell far below expectations for an Ascend Collection hotel.
