I was very suprised by how nice this hotel is. First time staying with Sheraton and I loved this property. From check in to check out, everything was good here. As a titanium member I was able to check in early and that was very helpful. We were on the 20th floor and had a great view from the room. The rooms design was modern. Loved the room, very clean and nice. No complaints. The hotel did have a club lounge on site which was a great suprise. Bar and restaurant on site where nice as well. There is a trolly that takes you to universal studios and back so that was pretty neat. Since this hotel is right next to universal studios, there are a lot of families and kids here so just keep that in mind. Overall, beyond pleased with my stay. I will be back again! We had a travel agent event with the Las Vegas tourism board at the high floor Starview Ballroom which had incredible 360 degree views of the surrounding area. The large room can get loud but it feels very spacious. They had a nice dinner buffet and one thing for sure as my co-workers will agree that the food was delicious. If your parking is not covered expect to pay 60 bucks to park for 3 hours or more. read more

Overall we liked staying here as it's convenient walking distance to Universal Studios and in a safe part of LA. The hotel is decades old and although the rooms have been updated they seem a bit stuffy inside. Our room was spacious enough with a large bathroom. My wife and youngest son enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. Parking is $55 a night and the daily room rate was also expensive. However the exceptional service is the biggest standout with staff everywhere being super friendly and enthusiastic as well as daily room cleaning service. read more

The Sheraton at Universal City is great. I would not call it their flagship by any stretch, but it is a great hotel. It is right near City Walk and Universal Studios. They have a great shuttle service. Don't walk all the way to Universal Studios, you will want to nap before you even get in. It is also a fair walk, but doable with ease to City Walk. The service at the hotel is great. They speak more than one language and are very friendly. I did not enjoy waiting for my room to be ready and I called and told them exactly when we would be there, but once in our room we were very happy. I had called ahead for extra pillows and towels and they were there. The beds are super comfortable. We had a nice view. The room was super clean. Everything we needed was there. I spent 12 hours here for LA bachata festival. Overall, i have a good experience. The hotel environment was well maintained. The conference rooms are spacious. Our festival have hundreds of dancers. 3-4 classes occurring at once. Never once that i felt it was too crowded. I dined at the hotel lobby restaurant. My food was decent. Pricing wasnt bad and my waitress was fast and attentive. Lastly, me and my buddy danced til 130am. It was safe and great experience. read more

The Sheraton at Universal is great. I used to stay at that Hilton next door but this Sheraton is way better. You can walk to city or the Universal Studios park but they have a shuttle that's on a digital map so you're not left wondering when they will arrive. The Club is on the lobby floor where breakfast, snacks and coffee/water/tea is available for status Bonvoy members. AC in the rooms works great. Nice and modern. The Club Lounge was perfect with their fancy coffee machine. Love the food and service. Valet was fast. It was $66 I think to valet vs $58 to self park. Will stay here again. read more

Convenience and location but the 2 days Thursday/Friday on their calendar the rates were extremely High compare to the week before and after.Rooms were first sold out then they released rooms 2 days before if you could secure one even not able to book with points. Finally got a room and had a chance to use my CC Free Night Awards okay that was good but then also used my Free Nightly Upgrade award which was granted but got a standard room instead of the DELUXE Upgraded room. Brought this up at front desk and after check out they did not return my unused UPG AWARD. Talked to customer service and still waiting so much for PLATINUM member , has this happened to anyone else? Hotel: Standard double bed room old hotel but nice updated and clean no issues .Club Lounge for platinum members to relax , free wifi , breakfast and snacks , refreshments. Lobby is busy with a bar , they also have a restaurant , coffee spot and grab and go shop to purchase other drinks and food. Shuttle to Universal very convenient specially with children. Just a heads up, this post is specifically about the room; the venue itself isn't terrible, and I had really good customer service throughout the facility, from check-in, to the bar, to the coffee shop and so on. Helpful folks, ready to assist. But my cabana-side room was fairly narrow, not well laid out and somewhat dated in decor and fixtures. Some of the bedroom reading lights looked about to fall out, and the room a/c - heat was pretty loud. Also on the building side where I stayed there's a good bit of hum -- the 101 freeway is right there. The gym is solid and fully equipped though and the pool is large (but seasonal). Looks like lots of conference room space too and the coffee shop is ok. Not sure I would stay here again though. Location just doesn't do it for me. read more

I've stayed here a few times now for my universal trips. This is definitely more of a fun hotel if you are platinum status of Marriott because then you get access to the lounge where they have hors d'oeuvres in the evening and breakfast in the morning. They also have some snacks and refreshments throughout the day if needed. If you have to pay for lounge access though, I'm not sure if it's worth it. This park is very close to Universal. There is a shuttle but you can just walk if you don't mind a slight walk up a hill. Don't forget to take the elevator by the Hilton to save you some of that hilly walk. We usually just walk to the park when we stay here and it's nice to go back and forth and have the option. The hotel is nice, But it can be pricey, so I wouldn't recommend it if you were here for a long time over doing something other than going to Universal. Also remember that if you don't have lounge access, you don't get free breakfast, which is a bummer but there are paid breakfast options on site if you need it. Self parking is also a whopping $55 so if you come here without a car no biggie, but just be prepared that it's more expensive to park here than the actual parks which is wild to me. Overall this is a solid hotel. The bed is comfortable and I do like the lounge amenities. Being close to the park is also very nice. But if the parks aren't your priority, then there are other places you could stay for cheaper. read more

I feel like if you're paying anywhere from $300-$500 for one night stay that staff should be somewhat accommodating and friendly. No not here. On top of that self parking is about $50. Oh and breakfast ? Haha yeah no. $30/$40 for breakfast . Staff was soooo bad during check in. Won't be returning. The layout of place is even worse, confusing elevator system also. Horrible. After contacting hotel upper management, they dilligently worked towards resolving my greivance. Some of the unfortunate events were found to be unintentional and I was advised that there was training and modifications made to ensure this type of incident would be prevented in the future for all guests. I recently returned last month (May 2026) and had an amazing experience! Accommodations were amazing and staff (especially housekeeping, restaurant, club lounge, valet and concierge); hospitality was superb. So if you are ok to pay two different 'tourist' taxes, additional 10% tax on $63 for valet parking (self parking only couple of bucks less), and another 20% tax in the restaurant which is INCLUDED in your bill, and all that on top of $400+ (after discount) per night...then you're good to go.. Stayed here for a quick New Year getaway and got upgraded to a suite which made my stay feel extra special. The suite was spacious and well laid out. It had a bar area with a microwave, two small fridges, and a coffee maker, plus a dining area, living area, and a powder room. The bathroom setup was great. Walk-in closet with vanity table, shower, bathtub, dual sinks. One thing to note is that the bedroom is not separated from the bathroom, which may or may not a preference depending on the guest. The bed was super comfy and I spent most of my time there just resting. While the room does feel a bit outdated, it was still clean, nice, and totally comfortable. Everyone has their pros and cons and here are mine - Pros: Walking distance to Universal within minutes and the shuttle is extremely convenient! Spacious and clean rooms and amenities! Can't say enough of how sparkling clean everything was inside and out of my room! Staff were so nice and always had a smile on their face! You can really get a vibe out of a place based on that. Con: Didn't realize that here were two areas of the hotel - tower and lanai. I was put in a corner room in the Lanai and was interrupted all night by freeway traffic! If you are a sound sleeper, PLEASE ask for the tower as much as possible. Rookie mistake. Save the trouble. All in all, I enjoyed my experience to the hotel. A nice, clean, historic part of the Universal experience. Choice of room is particular for a great night of sleep, but a very comfortable room within a short distance to Universal Hollywood. read more

The Sheraton Universal was the perfect spot for our mini Halloween Horror Nights getaway! We did a quick two-night stay, and this place checked all the boxes. Now, we didn't spend much time in the room (we were too busy getting chased by people with chainsaws), but I can say it was spotless and super comfortable. Slept like a rock both nights, which says a lot after all that walking. Every staff member we talked to was friendly and helpful, and a special shoutout to Angel at check-in -- down-to-earth, professional, and just a genuinely great first impression for the hotel. The shuttle was a lifesaver, running every 10-15 minutes, and the walk to Universal Studios was a breeze -- maybe 6 or 7 minutes tops. It was nice having both options depending on how tired (or lazy) we felt after the park. No complaints whatsoever. Great service, great stay, great location. Definitely planning to stay here again when we come back for HHN next year -- because convenience and comfort? That's the real horror-proof combo. read more

I truly hope this was a staff issue and not a reflection of how this hotel operates, because my experience was unacceptable. Honestly, my entire room should have been fully compensated. I took a solo road trip for my birthday to attend the Jennifer Hudson show. After a 5.5-hour drive and a long night of waiting for the taping, I came back to my room exhausted -- only to discover that my sheets and pillowcases were dirty and clearly not washed. The photos speak for themselves. I was disappointed, hurt, and absolutely disgusted. No guest should ever have to sleep in someone else's dirty bedding. I gave the manager every opportunity to resolve the issue. Instead, she refused to even look at the photos and didn't take responsibility for the condition of the room. I explained that I had already spoken with housekeeping, and even they seemed embarrassed that the room was left in that state. This was not the birthday experience I expected, and I hope the hotel takes this seriously so no one else has to go through it. read more

This is a review about the front desk lady on the evening of Sunday July 5th and her customer service. The other staff seemed very nice and the Starbucks staff there in the Sheraton were amazing!! We stayed here one night on the 4th of July to go to Universal Studios on Sunday. The Location is within walking distance to the hotel which is amazing! We have stayed here in the past and never had an issue with parking. When we checked in Saturday night on the 4th around 11pm the guy at the front desk was very nice. We were planning on leaving our car at the hotel parking lot the next day after checking out at 11am and leaving after the Universal park closed at 9pm. But the guy at the front desk said the hotel has a policy where they will charge you again for parking after checking out and @ 6pm! Which is almost $60?! They had already charged me the night we slept there and it would be an additional $60 almost for a "whole night" just for 3 extra hours past their 6pm max parking included time!? The guy at the front desk 1st suggested to park at the universal parking lot on Sunday after checking out instead of keeping our car there which would be cheaper. But the whole reason we booked that specific hotel is its short walking distance to Universal. So he said if we got a paper ticket from the booth machine, that wouldn't charge me again and we have till 11pm that Sunday (24 hrs) as long as we don't go in and out of the parking structure. So we kept my car at the hotels parking structure and decided not to park at Universals. Well when we tried to leave the parking structure that Sunday at 9pm it was charging almost $60! We called the front desk that night from the parking structure & the lady was very rude said there was nothing she could do and they were just going to charge us $60! She was not accommodating what so ever for what the other Front desk person told me and even didn't believe me when I told her what he told me the night before. She should have comped the parking for that transaction at least, otherwise we would have moved our car to the Universal parking lot instead and save almost $20-30! It's just the principle of customer service. The front desk lady did not show any compassion or service to customers that were miss told information. read more

We had a wonderful stay! The hotel was very clean and comfortable, which made our visit even more enjoyable. Angel at the front desk checked us in and provided amazing service from the start. When he found out it was my son's birthday, he went above and beyond by sending a cheesecake and balloons up to our room. It truly made my son's day and meant so much to us. Also, a big thank you to Matthew and Edgar in the lounge. They were very attentive and made sure I was offered all the amenities available. Their hospitality did not go unnoticed. Great room. Room service is available until 11 PM with several starter and entree options. The alcohol menu is great as well! The room is clean and sized appropriately. I really like the long Lanai viewing area. The decor is older and the restroom is small so there is very little space for me to place my toiletries on the counter. The layout does need a redo and there are only outlets on one side of the bed so I had to charge my phone and watch on another table. I am giving them 4 stars tho because they have premium alcohol available at the bar. read more

I dined on the TL level twice and the first experience was fine but on another visit two days later, I went to dinner and the waiter did min service or less than that and disappeared for 45 minutes after food was served. When he returned, he had the check in his hand and asked if we were all set. I was very upset because I needed water and other things and it's not like the dining room was busy because it was 9:45 pm and we were the only ones there. I have to admit I was hesitant to book this hotel after seeing all these 1 star reviews But I always say don't judge a book by its cover Some PROS & CONS about staying at the Sheraton Universal PROS: 1. Location, you can't beat the 5 min walk to the theme park. 2. The Bar! The drinks were strong and the service was good 3. The gym was the nicest part of this hotel for no reason, everything in there was in pristine condition 4. The bathrooms were nice! Aside from the hair we saw...but the vanity was well lit 5. And last but not least, the legend of Telly Savalas is cool (Who loves you, baby?) CONS: 1. Expensive parking ($55 a day) 2. The walls were thin 3. The rooms were dated and dinged up 4. The rooms felt a little dirty we paid $182 before taxes $214 after fees and this was on the cheaper end. This doesn't sound too expensive to be this close to the park, but the meatball stains, hair and dated rooms...not something I want to deal with just to be close It's clear the demand for more is there. And we plan on staying at the Hilton Universal here soon. But if the new hotel that Universal is building is just a bit closer to the park, a bit cleaner and a bit more...fun...this area has a bright future!!!!! Overall, we are going to give the Sheraton Universal 3 1/2 stars, even though it would only let me give it 3 lol. I had a very disappointing experience at the Sheraton Universal Hotel during my one-night stay on December 21. I arrived at the hotel around 10:00 AM after requesting an early check-in as a Marriott Bonvoy Platinum member. I was told the upgraded room was still occupied and that I would receive a text once it was ready. I stayed on the property all day, waiting in the lobby and trying to study and work. After several hours, I was informed that the current guest had requested a late checkout until 4:00 PM, which I understood. I was given temporary lounge access so I could at least have a place to sit and work. However, even at 4:00 PM (the hotel's standard check-in time), the room was still not available. I followed up multiple times throughout the afternoon--at 5:30 PM and again at 6:30 PM--and each time I was told the room was still not ready. By this point, I had been at the hotel for over eight hours, exhausted, and still without access to my room. I booked this stay specifically to rest. At around 7:00 PM, after expressing my frustration at the front desk, I was finally offered a standard room--something that would have been helpful if it had been offered earlier. I chose to wait since I had already waited all day. Finally, at 7:30 PM, I received a text that my room was ready. While I was eventually able to rest, waiting more than three hours past standard check-in--and over nine hours total on property--is unacceptable, especially for an elite member. The lack of proactive communication and failure to provide basic check-in accommodations made this experience extremely frustrating. I expected much better from a Sheraton property. read more

Great place to stay for Universal Studios. Check-in was quick. Jerry is super nice and helpful. Rooms look newly remodeled. Nicely upscaled. Very comfortable...we slept well. :) Lounge food and service is excellent. Chicken skewers during hors d'oeuvre were delicious. Good spread of hummus, guacamole, crackers, cheese, fruit, sodas, water, espresso machine. Chocolate cake was awesome (tasted like Godiva truffle chocolate). Wine available for charge. Breakfast was good too. They had eggs, sausage, fruit, pastries, bagels, coffee, juice. There is a shuttle to City Walk, but it stops at Hilton too. It's faster to just walk to Universal Studios. My oh my this hotel is absolutely disgusting. Checked into a 2 bedroom guest room and was put in the dungeon. Signage is his awful so you kinda have to hunt around to find the right hallway. Carpets are gross. Walls are dirty. Odd smell. Rooms are super duper tiny. Like REALLY tiny. Bathroom door was tagged and etched on and had sticker residue everywhere. The door also didn't lock. Not what you would expect to get when paying $179 a night. Upon check in you receive a text asking if everything is ok. What's the point of sending these texts if you don't plan on responding to the guest. Do better Sheraton. Super disappointed read more
