Every since I had an amazing experience with a certain boutique hotel years ago this has become my norm & Prospect Hollywood defintely delivered. Aesthetics alone are worth a stay but when you add the seclusion, quietness, courtyard & water pressure this put this place in another league. My room service was the quickest I've seen. Two things were to my disliking which was they give you a huge key to access the hotel I found it cumbersome. Secondly on my last day there was a loud humming noise which quite possibly could've been plumbing or ac units but nontheless I love it read more

The Prospect Hollywood was built in 1939. The Prospect Hollywood underwent a large restoration. It is beautiful. It has custom and vintage furnishings, and each room is wonderful. All of the things you would expect in a first class hotel are there, but the beauty of each room alone is worth the stay. You can even get discounts sometimes. They have standard rooms and amazing larger rooms. I love the tub in our room. The place is spotless and they will get you pretty much what you need. There is no pool and who cares. I do wish they had a fine dinning eatery, but they do have fresh juices and wonderful snacks. The service is exceptional. Everyone is so kind. If you have any questions about the area or Hollywood, they are there to help you. We really can't wait to go back. Have the best time. read more

If you're looking at hanging around Hollywood Blvd, The Prospect is in a great location, just one and a half blocks from HB and Musso and Frank Restaurant. The neighborhood was quiet and seemed quite safe to walk in. The room was 180 degrees different than most hotel rooms (that's a good thing!) The wallpaper was pretty cool and colorful, and the furniture was neat. The bed was fantastic with four great pillows and an extremely comfortable mattress. The courtyard was terrific with two big fire areas and a water feature. The best thing about The Prospect was the employees. They were very friendly and helpful carrying our heavy luggage upstairs to our room (I have to stop traveling with my rock collection!) The valet parking was $43 a night, which seemed mandatory as parking on the street appeared nonexistent. A $30 resort fee included a nice croissant in the morning with juice or coffee and wifi for your room. We were glad we stayed there, such a nice difference from a large chain hotel. read more

Please stop using fragrance in the rooms as a spray and diffuser. Fragrance is a migraine and asthma trigger for many people. This means those with disability like migraine cannot stay at this hotel. And for everyone else? Fragrance ingredients don't have to be disclosed to the FDA due to patent laws and are known endocrine disruptors and carcinogens. Many of the ingredients are used as pesticides and in chemical warfare. Yes, for real. Stop the insanity. Fragrance does not make you a luxury hotel it just means you're poisoning your guests and staff. read more

I stayed at The Prospect Hollywood and it was an amazing place! A cozy boutique hotel with an incredible atmosphere. The interior design is impressive - every corner looks like a frame from a movie. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and everything is thought out to the smallest detail. Separately, I would like to mention the garden and terrace - it's nice to relax there after walking around Hollywood. The staff is very friendly and always ready to help. I absolutely loved the tub and the giant bathroom in our room. The decor grew on me. The carpeting took the longest but after a 10-day stay, it stopped looking so loud and clashing with the rest of the place. The staff were super friendly and helpful. They really go out of their way to make sure the guests are taken care of. Thank you! The place is quiet even though it's just two blocks away from Hollywood Blvd. I liked that. If there were two things I wish went better, it would be that the staff refill the bath salts. I never got it refilled. Just attention to detail like that especially when some guests may not like to ask for every little thing. The other is that there's a $35 daily service charge - was that because I turned in my car every day or was that for the room cleaning even though I skipped every other day since we don't need it every day, or all of the above? That daily charge added to the expected $45 valet fee for 10 days was a bit of a shock. It was $350 I wasn't expecting. It would be great to disclose that at the beginning of the stay. read more

Tried keeping my deposit. Lied multiple times saying they sent it back to my bank and never did. Finally after 4 calls and speaking with different employees I finally got it back. Mold on shower curtain. No breakfast besides croissants and coffee which was not made clear when booking. Valet was a mess and there was a line of cars waiting. This place is so cool! Hubby & I stayed for a one night getaway because we didn't want to do the drive back from LAX. Every room is themed Regency 1930s. We stayed in the Omar Sharif room with freestanding tub and bar. The continental breakfast served espresso and the best tasting breakfast croissants we've ever had! It's located within close proximity (within one city block) to the Hollywood Walk of Fame and other touristy sights. They also give customers the choice of being charged the $30 service fee, but include breakfast and after dinner cocktails if customers ok the charge. Great deal! Great location. Great service! There's a part of me that doesn't want to write this review... I wanna gatekeep the hell outta The Prospect! There is no way that this hidden gem will stay a secret forever. I'd wax heavy on the subtlety of the entrance, yet it would take away from the experience. Remember, in the 90s when you would call the pager to get the address of the map point? It gives those feels in the most nostalgic way. Phillip (the greatest GM I've ever encountered), greeted us in an energetic and exuberant fashion that mirrored the surrounding Hollywood vigor. He whisked the car away and in we went. Upon check-in, Mara got all of the business outta the way professionally and succinctly. We chatted about our reason for being in town and she guided us to our room. (Did I mention the lobby? Jewel tones, animal print, rich textiles... you gotta see this place!!!) The outdoor common area is lush and green; full of natural flora, private seated areas, and a couple of fire places. A perfect place to chill and have a cocktail. We had the pleasure of residing in the James Dean room... claw foot tub, four poster bed, velvet and brocade sitting area/living room. I will now forever compare all boutique hotel rooms to this one. I can talk all day about the environment at The Prospect.... but really, the property is about the people. Phillip is amazing at Ops... I've never stayed at a place where the boss helped with valet or bell service, as well as the rigorous minutiae of running shop. The grrl at the desk (I didn't catch her name, she had black hair) the morning we were slated to leave was fun and helpful. We inquired about staying an extra night. She got us situated and effortlessly booked. The evening we returned from our night in the town really took the cake! My daughter was tearful and upset when we were returning to the property. Jamara ushered is into the lobby quickly and discreetly, ensuring that we were ok. She immediately turned to my daughter with kind words and offered to BAKE HER COOKIES. Mara was walking by and also took the time to check in with my daughter to see if she was ok. About half an hour after being back in our room, Jamara brought the cookies and milk see promised; providing comfort and true empathy. I can't say enough about Jamara and Mara!!! The Prospect is an oasis in an often overwhelming city. I implore those looking for luxury without pretention, hospitality without pontification , and a truly relaxing experience to treat yourself to some time at The Prospect! 2 thumbs up, 5 stars,  10 outta 10, would do again. read more

WARNING: Do yourself a favor and skip this experience completely . Worst experience at a hotel. Bad service, no alternative down comforters, only two pillows for two of us that were not down. Forgot our food order and gave me a bad drink too. One person for check in , room service , bartender, chef and waiter. Feel bad for the staff but also our service is Mara was little to be desired. Froze my butt off without a comforter and only a blue blanket he brought us. No Netflix or any kind of service to watch shows, bad internet and horrible time trying to call since before the reservation to ask about the allergy to down also when arriving was outside with no sign of valet and front door locked and no one answering. For over $400 a night you are better off doing an airbnb. Real bad experience and they literally have me a coupon to come back instead of working with us or doing anything to lower our cost for the worst experience on our 7 year anniversary. On top of it all Mare would only speak to my partner and was hard to be acknowledged by him at all where it made is it uncomfortable and awkward for us both. The order we made was two drinks a cheese tray and chips made in the spot after an hour and a half waiting he came out with the chips that was like 6 chips and no cheese tray and asked if we still wanted the cheese tray. How ridiculous what in the world is happening. Why would we want to order food and then ask us if we still want it? W t h. Negative stars on this one. Hope you read the reviews before you go and also heater took forever to heat and wasn't getting warm enough for not having a comforter in winter. read more

Love this little boutique hotel. You'll need to get the valet if you have a car so they can park it in the back (you'll also need to plan ahead for them to get the car out for you). You'll know it's the hotel by the bright red door - but note that you can't open it without a key (or if you ring the bell by the door to call the desk). Staff here are really really nice, courteous and friendly - we really enjoyed the experience of staying there. All rooms use a traditional key vs a key card so there's a bit of nostalgia. Rooms are not numbered but named after movie stars. Free breakfast (croissants, danishes and other pastries) and coffee in the morning. Ice water station is also available in the foyer round the clock - stay hydrated! read more

My son and I slept very comfortably on a king size bed. The location is a little far from a few places we wanted to visit, So I wouldn't walk considering im not familiar with the area, However I really like this hotel. My husband and I are celebrating an impromptu Baby Moon/ Wedding Anniversary. We wanted something near the center of the heart of Sunset boulevard as I have very limited mobility due to my pregnancy and wanted something in walking distance. Thank Goodness we were able to find this beautiful hidden spot. I didn't have a hotel booking and Mara at the front desk was kind enough to help me book right as I walked in. She gave us an excellent room and we were beyond pleased with the size and decor of the room. It was an old retro vibe and although we came upon a minor hiccup of Netflix not working on our TV Mara tried her best to help us any way she could. Sad to be checking out today at noon. My new fave to stay at when in LA. Small boutique style hotel. Each room is fairly spacious and decorated so cute. I stayed in the Sophia Loren room. It had a king bed with luxurious linens, diptyque toiletries, gigantic shower and the cutest mini bar you will ever see in a hotel. They really put a lot of thought into this hotel. Feels very comfortable, warm and inviting. Alex was so nice and even carried my bag to my room and showed me around. In the morning they have fresh pastries delivered from Tartine and as a fellow San Franciscan I was pretty jazzed about that. The Prospect has become my home-away-from-home! I almost don't want to write this review so I can selfishly keep it my little secret oasis... Moved out of LA last year (only an hour away) and frequent the hotel when I need to stay in LA subsequent days (or I'm hanging with friends) and don't feel like making the drive home. The hotel is charming. Rooms are gorgeous and unique. Old Hollywood theme is right up my alley. But what MAKES the hotel is its staff. From Alex to Noah to Key to Joe and others whose names escape me: Everyone at the hotel is solicitous, friendly, warm and they remember and welcome you like an old friend! They also have great food and drink selections, the ocassional freshly baked cookie offering (they're incredible and this gluten-free girl can never turn them down!) and added benefits, like a partnership with NeueHouse for those who need a workspace. And have I mentioned the bathtubs?! Or the courtyard? Or the EVERYTHING?! I had been searching for a hotel I liked. I have been fortunate enough to find one I love. read more

Stayed here for one night during a last minute Hollywood staycation. The hotel is close to a bunch of great hikes including the Hollywood sign hikes and Runyon canyon. It's a small boutique hotel on a quiet side street with a ton or character. Recently renovated and it shows. Only 24 rooms. Walking distance to Hollywood blvd and a bunch of restaurants and bars like Mother Wolf and Tao. We stayed in a premier room and it was a decent size. We didn't have any food or drinks at the hotel. I think they have a small menu. They have a pretty fancy cocktail bar in the room if you want to make yourself a cocktail but I would recommend to bring your own liquor as the ones offered in the room are very expensive. They even have coupe glasses in the room talk about fancy! There's also a tiny shared courtyard area in the middle with a fire pit for relaxing. They offer valet parking. One slight negative is that getting into the building and the room requires an old school key so you better be careful and not lose it. Other than that really liked this hotel and would stay again. read more

KEY and KIKI are excellent from the jump, the cleaning staff and grounds crew all are friendly and attentive. After doing a work related site walk my coworker and I regrouped in the outdoor lounge patio and was able to get more work done in the most serene setting. This is a quiet, quirky and sweet hotel. It doesn't have all the travel amenities I'm used to... ironing board in room, elevator, ice machine. BUT, they are available if you ask for it and I've learned that the more interaction with ALL the staff the better my stay became. I would recommend everyone to experience this special little hotel! I was looking for a special hotel to stay at for my bfs birthday last month and came across The Prospect and was so happy it was the one we stayed at. We got in later than I'd hope but made the most of our stay there and was kindly welcomed and shown to our room by Jamara who was so sweet. The room was so beautiful and clean and opened up right to the fire pits outside so we got to enjoy that before retiring for the night. Everything in the room was comfortable and so roomy and I loved all the details as well as the bar! In the AM they had croissants and orange juice in there cute lobby which was just enough to get our morning started. Key was at the front in the morning and was also so kind and helpful. We will definitely be back with this location being so close to everything and I love the boutique vibe of this hotel that makes it feel more exclusive as well. The 12pm checkout is gold and allowed us to enjoy our stay vs feeling rushed out in the morning. If I could change one thing it would be the parking charge since it was something we just parked ourselves that night and got out car in the am and since smaller hotel would be nice if that was included in the price but it did not ruin our stay by any means. We had a really pleasurable experience staying one night The Prospect Hollywood. My partner and I decided that we wanted to spend the night following an evening at The Hollywood Bowl. I took a look at a few of the nearest hotels (all chains) that were quite pricey and not event a tenth of the charm of The Prospect. The Prospect was a quick 15 minute walk to The Hollywood Bowl, but I'd suggest taking an Uber/Lyft to the event and then walking back, since it's mostly uphill there. The entire place was super charming - chock full of Hollywood Charm! Our room was spacious and had a fantastic bathroom with a large tub. We were in Heaven! We will definitely be returning and staying at The Prospect with future Bowl visits. read more

Would give then ten stars if I could. One of the few boutique hotels I didn't find through yelp, this hidden gem, with it's vintage charm, caught our eye for a last minute stay in Hollywood / LA / Glendale adjacent, with comments such as "over-the-top luxe touches" . . . "sophisticated vibe." There is an adults only policy. It's likely the most beautiful room I have ever stayed in, in my very indulgent over the top, spoiled life that is saying a lot .... The hotel is housed in a Hollywood Regency-style building, in an area purported to be known for its prominent history as home to screen icons such as Marlene Dietrich. It oozes old-time Hollywood. The hotel has very recently went through a restoration by designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard, "designer to the staaaaahs" (One of Architectural Digest's Top 100 designers in the world). Being a good yelper, I "check'ed in" as soon as we got here yesterday. I couldn't understand why there weren't a flood of Yelp reviews. And my boyfriend, who has just come back from getting coffee and a croissant from the lobby, just told me he was told the hotel opened last week during the Oscars, and we are the first people to stay in this room since the restoration! Apparently the makers of "Parasite" stayed here; the manager shared how cool it was to have them here; in their tuxes.... How great is that?? Oh, so I digress, back to our stay.... The beautiful and detail of the rooms ... wow.... I definitely "oooh"ed when we first walked in the room. "Everything this place does is classy" my boyfriend just muttered. There are full-size in-room mini bars with vintage crystal stemware, and brass fixtures..... A luxurious canapy bed, retro telephone ..... There is a large walk in shower, with Art Deco tile on the floor; luxury fixtures amenities abound in the bathroom. The signature bathrobes. Love the bathrobes, cotton, very, very soft. May hit my boyfriend up to buy one. In the mornings they serve fresh baked pastries, with freshly brewed La Vittoria coffee (they also have expresso makers in the room too). In the afternoons and early evenings you can enjoy a beverage or a light bite in their amazing lobby lounge. No alcohol quite yet. There are also outside beautiful fireplaces. I feel this review and my pictures are not doing this exquisitely beautiful vintage boutique hotel justice ... Will come back later to try to fix this... My boyfriend loves the check-out time of noon; having had our fair share of 10:00 a.m. rushing to get out in time.... He just spent some time talking with the manager, who he said was gracious, very warm and helpful. We DEFINITELY will be back. Another reviewer on another site remarked/feared they were going to become very popular soon, and you'll have to book months in advance.
