There are ways this could've gone better. For example the listed address is incorrect. I called for the correct address because we're just passing through and I had a NEED for nachos. Instead of giving me the address when I asked the girl that answered the phone asked why I wanted to know. A very odd conversation ensued, and it was at this moment I realized calling numbers off the internet can be sketchy. Eventually she girl felt ok with giving out the right address and we found the place. Seated, the girl from the phone is our waitress, we are presented chip and salsa and give a drink order. She got them wrong and that annoyed her that I asked for the unsweetened iced tea I ordered. Cool. We ordered dinner, nachos and burrito. Unsweetened iced tea arrived, sip, and its old swampy tea. Had I not been dehydrated from the road id have lived w it but I wanted an iced drink. So I asked for a Diet Coke instead this act solidified her hatred for me. She asked what was wrong and I told her, so she argued with me that it was made fresh every morning. Ok. I don't like it and can I have a Diet Coke Someone from the kitchen dropped the food at our table and we didn't have the heart to tell them the burrito was incorrect. It came with guacamole which was decent. Definitely the most entertaining nacho experience of 2021.

Mmmmmm. Spaghetti sauce. Wait...what is this?

"This stuff's made in...NEW YORK CITY!" The salsa was essentially a big bowl of tomato. It had some kick to it, but that wasn't salsa. It was tomato's retarded cousin--the one who's only allowed to visit when he wears a helmet. The food wasn't terrible. It wasn't astounding. It passed for Mexican food, it filled me up, and it was cheap. It did its job. The toilet's review may tell a different story, but that won't be available until tomorrow morning. However, we need to talk about the margaritas. You can't piss in a glass of Sprite and call it a margarita. It needs more flavor than cheap tequila and ammonia. This was hands down the worst margarita I have ever had.

I would say this place is okay- not bad, not great, just in the middle. The service was prompt and friendly. They brought chips and salsa but found in underwhelming. We sat on the patio as we had our dog which was not a problem at all. The food was okay. Worth a try but nothing special.

    Dogs allowed on patio!

Being from Denver, we are spoiled with, in my opinion, the best Mexican food in the country, that being said El Puerto was really good. Whytheville is lucky to have this place! Thanks for allowing dogs on your patio, a big plus for us while traveling..

Margarita was a bit expensive and tasted mostly of sour mix. Fajitas were delicious but and the view was fantastic.

Exactly what I wanted. Good food, quick service, great people. Only place to stop. Leave the fast-food and go! You can have a beer too!

Last night was our first time here. The restaurant was very clean with a nice, friendly ambiance…read more Our waitress was at our table immediately and took our drink orders. My wife commented on how good the chips were. I agreed and the salsa was great. Our food arrived quickly and was piping hot (which we love). The best part of our visit was the customer service. Our waitress had a fantastic personality and checked back on us several times to see if we needed anything. If all waitresses/waiters were like her, eating out would be much more enjoyable. We will definitely be coming back often.

We didnt order anything complicated, basic off the menu items. Took ten minutes to get a glass of water? People came in a good ten to fifteen minutes behind us and got their meals before us? It was obvious there was an issue in the kitchen, and an out of sync front of the house. We wanted to pay for our drinks and go after an almost 40 minute wait for rice and beans? The staff avoided us, so we went to the bar to pay and that was even difficult, none of the staff came to help. Finally a guy from the back came out and said dont worry about the drinks? How was that so difficult from an employee to say? We offered to pay for what we had. Literally a waste of time, it is what it is but... 1 Star 01251

Sorry to read some of the negative reviews; my wife's and my experience was nothing but positive…read more We visited Galax for a week of relaxation and (my) not having to cook, so we ate out daily. This place was great. Service was fast, friendly, and very considerate of seating, how the meal was, etc. Simply can't give a better rating to the service. It was fairly early evening (or late afternoon), so no crowd to speak of, but the place was clean, comfortable temperature, and again, no negatives. Food itself was just fine. I've a great Mexican restaurant in my town, and this one is on par, probably a bit more 'American' Mexican, but some folks just can't stand the heat, so I'm sure Tiaquepaque has learned what it's community can tolerate and prefers. I had simple pork tacos, which were excellent; usual (good) beans and rice on the side. My wife had an enchilada plate which was also fine; came with a large plate of guac, salad greens, and I believe rice. The chips were great, salsa was good - and I spiced it up to our level with one of the hot sauces that were on the table. Honestly, it was one of the best meals we had in Galax. Will certainly eat here again when we visit Galax in the future, and that's a pretty sure thing too.

I have wanted to try this place for years. The interior needs updating but the food and excellent…read more The salsa they serve upon arrival is a bit bland The nacho supreme was very good and the Bahama Mamas were perfect. The enchiladas were also tasty. Service is very good.
