The machaca had just a hint of that flavor I liked, but it was old, likely made the day before or earlier. And the warm tortillas were not only store-bought, they were dry to the point they were cracking around the edges. Really? On top of all that, they had Fox News playing on the television. The employee who brought our food had been washing dishes. When our order was ready, he pulled his hands straight out of the dirty dishwater, didn't dry them or wash them first, and immediately picked up our plates to bring them to our table. That was very unsanitary and made us uncomfortable. On top of that, he didn't greet us when he dropped off the food, and after we thanked him, he didn't even acknowledge us or say "you're welcome." I also noticed the cooks in the kitchen preparing food without wearing gloves the entire time we were there. While gloves aren't always legally required if proper handwashing is followed, after seeing how our food was handled, it definitely didn't inspire confidence in the restaurant's hygiene practices.
