We're staying down the street in a hotel while we wait for repairs to our RV. I was wary about American Chinese food, which can be gloppy and flavorless. This was so not that. My kung pao chicken was flavorful and nicely spiced, served with good rice. My husband ordered one of the dinner specials, a combination of dishes and flavors. We both very much enjoyed our meals. It's bad. Like really bad. Unfortunately I think it's the only Chinese place in this town so the residents may not even realize how terrible it is. They don't deliver to hotels. That's crazy as they will deliver much farther away from my hotel...but not my hotel. I've had Chinese food all over the country and this is by far the strangest Lo Mein I've ever eaten. Tastes like lo mein you would get frozen in the grocery store freezer section (it's not, I totally heard them cooking it). If you're passing through, skip this place. Not worth your time or money. Also, front desk person isn't wearing a mask....it's a pandemic and by the nature of her job she's within 6ft of tons of people. It's not take hard to slap one on and pretend like you care about others. I am from Los Angeles, CA. When in Alliance, NE we stop here each and every time. The food is incredible. We enjoy the sweet and sour seafood and chicken. The Crab Rangoon's are delicious. We stopped to see Carhenge & had a hankering for Chinese food. The place looks deserted but it is open. The owner said due to the pandemic he couldn't get help so it was just him. We ordered take out, the food was hot and delicious. This is the best restaurant in Alliance, and I've been to them all. They have fast, friendly service, their portions are perfect, their cost is low, and they make everything fresh when you order. They take your satisfaction seriously, as well as their business. I've been here many times and their service and food quality is consistently excellent. I recommend this place to anyone, especially if you like Chinese food. They have a lovely dining room, but they also offer delivery and take-out if you prefer. First time at this restaurant. It came recommended for the food, but...... food was overly sweet and rice was under-done. Service was terrible......Never had any of the drinks on our table refilled and to top it all off, the staff questioned why I gave a lower tip for the mediocre service and required we pay 18% premium because we had 9 people in our party when their policy was 10. Unlike most places I have been, they tell you up front and make sure you are aware. I do not recommend this place. Found ourselves in Alliance, NE in need of lunch. Several good options, and chose Chinese for something a little different while on the road. The parking lot was full (always a good sign), but still had ample room to park our small RV (another good thing). We were greeted and seated promptly, friendly server, huge menu, FAST service (in and out in 35 minutes), clean and tastefully decorated dining room. We stopped here on Labor Day Monday because it was one of the few places open. We were pleasantly surprised to find very decent Chinese food in the land of beef and corn. BBQ pork fried rice, chow mein, orange peel chicken and Mongolian beef were all tasty and comparable to Chinese food we've eaten on the West Coast. The big surprise though, was the wonton soup - tasty dumplings in a flavorful broth with fresh snow peas and zucchini. Well worth a stop. read more
