Never have I experienced a business getting my order wrong and REFUSING TO FIX IT. The woman answering the phone and taking orders clearly has no customer service skills and a nasty attitude. It was almost comical to me that she insisted that's what I ordered when I would never order it to begin with. I passed this place all the time and thought it was like a take-out taco place. Until I ate there. Small, family Mexican restaurant with really good food. Clean place and friendly staff (parents and family run it). Don't let the size fool you, the prices are in line with other sit down Mex places and it's totally worth it. read more

I ordered take out chicken tacos from this place and they were awful. As a non-Hispanic person, I could have made better tacos than the inedible food that they gave us. The chicken was boiled and hard in extra large chunks of meat. it was placed in the containers sloppily with hardly any toppings. It was as if the food was pitched from a distance into the container. Come on El Rancho!, you can do better than that and the service at the take out counter should have been enough to tell me what to expect of the food. Unpleasant service = unpleasant food. I heard the place was very good and was given a gift certificate. The person who gave me the gift certificate goes there often (now it's WENT.) The gift certificate was a cash register receipt and when I gave it to them they said it expired as it was a year and a day past the cash register receipt date. They would not accept it (even though there was NO expiration date on the receipt!!!) They were rude... bad business. read more

My wife and I had a very hard time narrowing down our choices for lunch. There were too many good looking items in the menu we wanted to try. We ended up going with a plate of carnitas and salted beef tacos, a bistec encellado and a chicken enchilada with tomatillo sauce. The tacos were good, the enchilada was fantastic and spicy like I asked for, and the bistec was cooked perfectly and was excellent. The sides were all flavorful and we scraped our plates clean. The food wasn't that flavorful. The chips and salsa which are the first sign to me of how good Mexican restaurant will be were gross. Chips tasted like food coloring and the salsa tasted like cheap brand you buy at the store. I never expect good Mexican food in New York but I am always hopeful. The food was good. However I ordered a frozen margarita not knowing there was a $4 upcharge. Why wouldn't the waitress tell me? There's also a charge if you don't pay in cash so my $40 came out to $47... I mean come on. Was really excited to come to this place but having been in service while in college, I would definitely lay any additional charges out, and I'm annoyed they didn't. I had the torta cubana here. My friend's husband is Cuban and she knew there was nothing Cuban about this. While the taste of the food initially was not too bad, it was also was so soggy like it sat for too long, or maybe too low quality bread to hold it all together. Would not recommend. read more

This is my fav Mexican restaurant in Orange County. The tacos are traditional and fresh. They dress the taco meat with raw onions and fresh cilantro. The gratuitous salsa has a nice spice and texture to it. Def a five star! read more

we just had lunch at this great restaurant in town.The menu is extensive and there was a nice selection of specials.I had puerto vallarta platter with steak, peppers onion and bacon ,it was delicious!My son had the fish tacos which he said was the best he's ever had.Appetizer was ceviche excellent,dessert was tres leche.We will definitely return to this wonderful restaurant in the heart of Goshen and we will be bringing our friends with us to enjoy the excellent food.Hats off to the chefs and the extremely nice waiter! read more

Thrilled to find this local gem. Started with a pitcher of margaritas; would have preferred fresh lime juice instead of a mix, nonetheless, very good. The lunch portions were huge! Delicious fajitas and pork chops. Love led the rice & beans and plantains were cooked to perfection Will enjoy lots of leftovers. Our server, who appeared to be a manager or owner was very attentive, friendly and efficient. We look forward to returning one day. Good food with typical Mexican decor. It is a tiny space but luckily not crowded when we were there. The chips were good and the salsa tasty with a little kick. We had a combo and fajitas salad. Driving through and saw this place had good reviews so stopped in. It was quiet at the time and so we got great service. It's a family run business and are creative with their menu and recipes. We started out with a complimentary quesadilla. My husband and I split a combo plate, chili relleno, enchilada, and taco. Then the waiter brought us complimentary sweet pork/pineapple tacos. Never thought I'd like it, but it was very good. I couldn't pin down a spice so asked what was in sauce on enchilada. He rattled off a list and what stood out to me was chocolate and cinnamon. My husband kept raving about the food and he can be picky. We're from CA and have had lots of great Mexican food, this stood out in its uniqueness. We were stuffed and when we got the bill, we had to laugh, less than $10. Left a $5 tip. read more
