Ate here as a pit stop with some friends. We all ordered tostadas for dinner and flan for dessert. When I say that was some of the best food I've ever had. The tostada shell was the perfect crunch that it didn't fall apart while holding, but still broke perfectly when I bit it. And it tasted phenomenal. And then the flan was just a perfect taste and texture. Not to mention the wait staff was very nice and welcoming, and even gave us mini-quesadillas(which also tasted great) on the house while we waited for our food. Stopped in to get some food and food was just ok at best. Being that this is located in the middle of nowhere locals must think it's amazing but it's really just average at best. Our server was very helpful letting me know about the chips being fried in the same oil as flour items. I am gluten free and only asked for corn tortillas so it was great to have her know exactly why I couldn't eat flour tortillas and then let me know about the chips. So many restaurants have servers who act clueless when it comes to allergies. This is in a small town so I wasn't expecting this. She was great and everyone we talked to who works there are friendly. Great place! I will only talk about the meatball soup in this review. At first taste I was like meh... but then I mixed/chopped it up a little bit with my spoon and the flavor completely changed. I am really impressed. Even now as I type the taste left in my mouth can only be described as umami. If you come here. Terrific! I always wanted to try this place and tonight we did! It was super cute inside...a real mexican feel. They also have a little outside deck which will be cute in the summer. They offer drinks and a kids menu. Great prices! They give chips and salsa and a quesadilla before your actually meal. The meals were so yummy! I ordered the combination and my husband flautas. My daughter ordered the cheeseburger and fries (which were delicious). Everyone is super friendly. They also offered us the chimichanga dessert and it was soooo good. Wow. My husband and I loved this place.The restaurant is family-owned and exceptionally caring. We ordered just two entrees, but were presented with a quesedilla AND an excellent dessert free of charge. (Who does that? Our server said they just enjoy surprising customers.) What they do well: The food is prepared fresh, comes out piping hot, portions are generous, the food is flavorful. The staff are tremendously hospitable and accommodating. They willingly adjust orders according to your request. The atmosphere makes you feel like you are visiting a family home in Mexico - very unique homey feel, with family pictures displayed on shelves within the dining room. The pitchers of margaritas are well made and not overloaded with ice. The prices are very reasonable and Las Mananitas gives you chips & salsa, a small quesadilla per person, a shot of dessert tequila, and a dessert churro - all "on the house" (no charge). Where they need to improve: Drinks need to be served more quickly. Food takes a while to get to the table too. However, you do get chips and salsa immediately - but it would be a better experience to get your cocktails/beverages sooner. We like to support local restaurants and will continue to patronize Las Mananitas. I believe they will get better with more experience. I recommend going there on a night when you are not in a hurry. Our second visit there was with a party of 8, so the slower pace was actually nice because we had plenty of time to converse and visit with each other. read more

This is a very casual family run place... We had the Enchiladas Suizas (green sauce) and they are amazing. Fresh chicken and delicious! The tamales are also excellent. The 2nd time we had the fajitas- these were not like typical fajitas. They came in a mushroom sauce - not the sizzling kind from other Mexican restaurants. The guacamole and tacos are also delicious. A good find in upstate NY and only next to the Red Dot (a popular vegetarian spot in the area). We couldn't get an order for 2-3 hours at Red Dot so we ended up going here. It's a cute spot and the food was pretty good. They were big portions. We should've shared instead of getting individual plates. They were also very nice and gave us a lot of free food. I've passed this place a few times on my way through town and finally stopped in today for an early dinner and was NOT disappointed. Everything was hot, fresh and delicious. I love Mexican food. This was not Mexican food. Firstly I ordered chicken Fajitas and my husband ordered a burrito. I asked for home made hot sauce which is a VERY common thing to ask for at a authentic Mexican restaurant but unfortunately they had none. Secondly when our food came out mine was not on a skillet and I could see they use cheap chicken and it had absolutely no flavor. My husbands burrito was panini pressed with the marks and all, never in my life have I seen a burrito panini pressed. Wouldn't recommend nor would I go back. read more
