So many things wrong where do I start? First, I ordered a tamale and lunch fajitas. I was given an extra tortillas for my fajitas which I didn't ask for and cheese on my tamale which I didn't ask for. Check came out and I was charged for the items I didn't order. Second, I went to go pay and they charge me 2 dollars and some change for using my card as for card fees stated on the counter. Okay, so fees for transactions on a 36 dollar lunch check is not 2 dollars and some change it's 1.5%-2.5% at most. So the math at most is 90ish cents. Being charge for things I didn't order and charged for a transaction fee over the legal amount is ridiculous. Just so y'all know it is illegal to charge a transaction fee on debit cards as well. The food was a 2 out of 5 on top of that. I will never go back here again. I will be reporting you to CFPB and contacting my bank. read more

The worst food ever! Everything out of a can, including the chicken in our smothered can cheese sauced Quesadillas! Terrible unsalted chips. Frozen guacamole. You would have to be starving and have no other option to eat this "food". read more

I debated 4 vs. 5 stars and went with 4 after a good bit. The nit-picky things I might point out was that: it wasn't "spotless" clean, complimentary salsa was pedestrian at best, service was a bit slow at points, and they didn't have a wide selection of beers (I forgot to ask/look for mixed drinks). But the beer was cheap, and the food was excellent. I am not one to give out five or even 4 stars unless I really thought it hit the right marks. Moreover...this is Oneida....I don't know if you've ever been but I'll say this, you sure as heck will never "passed through" Oneida unless you are LOST. It's out there. So to find such a good plate of Mexican food was a real treat. I think the restaurant choices in Oneida really improved since I was there a few years ago. So...I chose one of the nacho plates, as I didn't want a big full meal-- I had to work after eating. But the nachos I got were really more like a mini-mocajete-- the grilled meat combo that I usually try to check out Mexican restaurants. There was so MUCH. I overate, and still took home more than half! The meats were all excellent (shrimp, chorizo, beef, chicken) and the veggies with them were done well...and ample cheese sauce mixed in. If I need to go back to Oneida, I'll definitely stop there again!!!!! read more

We stopped by here on our drive home from Asheville. It has a great location, just off of 75. We were there around noon on a Sunday and it was not very busy. We were seated right away and our waiter was friendly and did a great job staying long top of drink and chips/salsa refills. I had the quesadilla deluxe and it was good. My husband had soft tacos and enjoyed these, as well. The food is very authentic and priced well. read more

Tried this place after seeing the 5 star rating while traveling through Oneida. The food was terrible and literally made me sick. Guacamole had strange colors and flavors. Also, about 2 cups of oil came pouring out of my chimichanga when I cut into it. read more

Thursday, 12/2/21 @ 2:45p I found this restaurant somewhat lacking, and am truly baffled by the number of 4 and 5 star ratings I'm seeing here. The decor is typical hacienda patio style, with two equally sized halves as you enter the front door (the right half was blocked off from entering). There were three occupied booths, and by my count at least 5 front house employees milling about. I ordered the lunch chicken fajitas and a soft drink. Usually with fajitas you are asked if you want corn or flour tortillas, I was not and received flour. Now I am from a State with a large Hispanic population and culture, and the fajitas I got was nothing like what I am used to; my experience is that fajitas arrive hot and sizzling in an iron pan set into a wooden tray, the meat spiced and cooking with the onion and bell pepper in oil and meat juices. What I received was dry sliced chicken which had obviously been cooked separately from the onion and bell pepper, and then mixed in prior to serving. It was bland and so dry I had to flag down an employee for some salsa to give it a bit of moisture (by flag I literally mean waving my arms to get noticed). The rice was nondescript but acceptable, however the frijoles, which should have some heft to them (think lumpy mashed potatoes) were tasteless and more like the consistency of pureed tomato soup. It's true that what I ordered was listed on the menu as "Lunch Fajitas", which implies a difference between that meal and their dinner offering, but that difference is generally in portion size and cost, not preparation method. I would be surprised to learn that their evening menu fajitas were prepared completely different than what I received at lunchtime My waiter did the absolute minimum by taking my order, dropping off the food, and delivering the bill; there was no inquiry as to how my meal was or offer of a soda refill. read more

El Rey Azteca is the type of restaurant that has a varied menu and pleasant ambience, with food for every budget. One of those places where you try something you really like and order it every time you go there! It is a popular venue for locals, especially for local sports teams. I am not that keen on Mexican food but this restaurant has enough variety and different Mexican dishes you do not find elsewhere that I like it. I had just left Brimstone Recreation and was looking for a Mexican restaurant to eat at. This one came up and had many good reviews. I eat our local Mexican restaurant several times a week. This restaurant was delicious and wonderful! I was so happy with the service, food and prices. The salsa was my absolute favorite!
