If you're looking for the perfect dive bar experience in Old San Juan, this place absolutely nails…read moreit. From the moment you walk in, you feel the vibe. It's small, loud, a little gritty, and completely inviting--exactly what a true dive bar should be. The walls are covered in graffiti and stickers from years of visitors leaving their mark, and honestly, that's part of the magic. You can't help but look around and smile at all the personality packed into such a cozy space. One of my favorite details? Look over to the right corner of the bar and you'll spot what looks like a vintage cash register straight out of the 1800s. Then right in the middle of the bar you've got the modern point-of-sale devices. The contrast is hilarious and perfect--old-school charm meeting modern bar life. There's a pool table, plenty of seating for such an intimate spot, and yes, a restroom inside (always appreciated in Old San Juan!). But what really makes this place stand out is the service--the staff is fantastic, welcoming, and they pour seriously strong drinks that are also refreshingly affordable. This is the kind of place where you come for one drink in the afternoon and suddenly the whole evening disappears in great conversation and good vibes. If you're wandering the streets of Old San Juan and want authentic dive bar energy, great drinks, and a place full of character, this is absolutely a must-stop. Highly recommend.

You won't get that in the tourist areas. I went on a Friday night and there were people everywhere. On the sidewalk and on the streets. I don't even know how cars managed to make it through, there were so many people. There was loud music but I don't remember if it was coming from this club or the open air club across the street... It all bleeds together after a while. This spot is less of a club and more of a local hangout spot. Not really much dancing going on... Just drinking, talking, laughing, and catching up with friends. Not quite a "chill" vibe, but much more chill than some of the surrounding venues. Perfect for enjoying a few beers or cocktails, people watching, and unwinding after a long week, or a long flight.

Bonus points for the wutang logo above the door.

One room, the main area had salsa, dancing, and music and eventually at 9:30 PM a live salsa band came on. That was a whole lot of fun however it was very crowded. The second room had a nice house music going on. There was a bar and a DJ and it was not as busy as the main area was. And the third room was the bar that leads to the outside called La Cubanita, which was playing mellow lounge music with a tropical beat. The food at La Factoria was definitely overrated and just OK. I did not think it was worth the price and I probably would not eat there again. None of us really liked what we ordered, but we ate it because well... We were hungry. They do offer a wide range of beverages from your standard beer, wine, and top shelf brands, however, they are known for their own concoctions. All of the drinks we ordered were delicious. Overall, we had fun, and it was not too pricey for the beverages. I don't think that I would ever go again, especially not later in the week as it is so busy, and we went on a Monday and we were dancing cheek to cheek!!! Enjoy!

This is a more of a bar than restaurant but it offers some restaurant style menu items along with some unique cocktails. We tried a cocktail with grapefruit and gin; don't remember the name. It was better than expected. The place has an urban, hipster-like atmosphere. It's basically one large room with a bar, a few tables of varying sizes, and two "lounge" areas with couches. It also sports a few TVs. We came here on the recommendation for the Mero Bites (deep fried grouper); an appetizer. So we ordered those, a Quesadilla de Pollo, and a side of Tostones. The Tostones came with a mayo-ketchup style dipping sauce and tasted like, you guessed it, tostones. The Quesadilla de Pollo came with small sides of sour cream, refried black beans, and guacamole. It was also drizzled with a creamy sauce. Overall, it was satisfying and better than average. The Mero Bites were definitely worth it. They were large flakey chunks of grouper, deep fried to a golden brown, and slightly crispy. They came with a side of tartar that paired with them perfectly but they were delicious without it as well. Definitely get the Mero Bites if you go here. The staff was friendly and our waiter was excellent. If you're in the area and want a snack and a drink, I'd recommend stopping in for the Mero Bites and one of their unique cocktails. The Mero Bites alone were worth the visit.

I don't plan on coming here again. Este lugar tiene buena atmósfera pero el servicio es ridículo y no vale la pena ir si tienes que esperar más de 20min por un trago. She offered to seat us if the party didn't arrive within the grace period. Thankfully, they never showed up, and the table became ours. From that point on, everything was fantastic. The food was spectacular, and the service was just as impressive. Every dish was beautifully prepared and full of flavor.
