With reservations a must, six of us finally got to try La Picara. There are a variety of tapas, ponchos and raciones on their menu. We tried a lot of them, and everything was delicious with the possible exception of Sepia a la Plancha, grilled squid which was too tough and chewy. Do NOT neglect to see their "Suggeriments fora de Carta" on a chalkboard. Most every off-the-chart suggestion we tried was exceptional, with my favorite actually being Tomaquets de Temporada amp Burratina í old D'Alfabrega. This was probably the best Burrata and Tomatoes serving I've ever tasted. It must be their spiced basil oil. The other standout special was a delicious Pintxo de Foie a la Plantxa, luxurious grilled foie gras skewer. A couple of drag queens came in promoting their show. They were a hoot at our table. Paola, the owner, was so kind and gracious. Service was fantastic. La Picara is definitely a must try during your time in Sitges!

We were staying at an awful nearby airport hotel (that shall remain unnamed but is in walking distance!) due to an early a.m. flight back to the States and very grumpy. The thought of eating dinner at the hotel was stomach-turning and with a quick search on google maps we found Ona Nuit. This adorable restaurant is located in what I would call an industrial neighborhood however it could easily be transported to Los Angeles and fit right in. They specialize in "Km.0" or slow food with an emphasis on local ingredients. We chose the seasonal tasting menu, everything we had was fresh and delicious! It was priced reasonably at around 30 Euro/pp. Only thing I would mention is that unless you are staying by the airport this restaurant is a trek from central Barcelona; also if you are strictly English speaking you may have some slight difficulty ordering (there is an English menu) but the staff was very gracious even with our broken Spanish! It was a perfect ending to our trip. Thank you!

This was recommended by friends awhile back, I remembered the modern ambiance, amazing Tapas, friendly service and the place was as busy then until now. For this big restaurant caliber, it's pretty crowded yet they do a good job with a fast turnaround. We did the early Dinner and by the time we got out there was already a long line for late Diners. The fact that even after a decade, it's rare that I go back to the same spot let alone they're still around after all these years. You already know that tells a lot and I feel bad for those who didn't have the same great experience, hope they give it another shot. See y'all soon! Salut, Vermouth!

For an early dinner by Spanish time, we started with the croquettes. Crip and wonderful. Then the tenderloin which was taste as well, though we should have a sales what is on the top. It seemed like mostly a flavored fat. The tomato with toast was lovely. Soaked with natural tomato juice. The skewered prawns were the best. Get them. And we ended with coconut pudding. It was like a flan with a coconut base. All together fun and delicious!

Back when we visited they had only recently launched their wine bar, Airbnb and tours but despite being relatively new, the service and knowledge of Katja (the wine bar manager) was GREAT! When I was looking for wine tours for priorat, I had a really hard time finding anyone in the wine business who had a helpful website or who was fluent in English so when I stumbled upon Slate's website I emailed Craig (the owner) right away for either help setting up our winery visits or (ideally) a custom tour with him. He was out of town, but he put me in touch with Katja, their manager, and we booked a custom winery tour of Priorat wineries for four people, as well as a special tasting of wines from some of the wineries we didn't have time to visit at Slate with Katja. The cost was affordable in comparison to many of the similar experiences we looked at, as well as completely customizable! Katja and I emailed back and forth a few times to design the exact tours, lunch and tastings that we wanted most and she gave excellent advice so that we had an experience we never could have set up ourselves. She also made our lunch reservations at Cellar de Gratallops which was a huge help as they were on our must-do list and they don't have a website for booking. Then when we toured the wineries, she translated at the places where there was no one who spoke English, and she even drove our rental car around the windy Priorat roads with much more confidence than we would have had (and it allowed us to indulge in all of the wonderful wines without worry). Overall, we LOVED our time at Slate doing our personalized wine tasting, we LOVED our time touring with Katja and together that was one of the best days of our trip. I could not recommend Slate more highly! And, as an aside, while we did not stay in the Air BnB above Slate as they were just finishing the renovations when we visited, we did see it and everything was beautiful! If/when I return to Gratallops, I absolutely plan to stay there.
