El sitio can be easily overlooked when walking by. I've passed by here hundreds of times and always thought it was a Colombian cafeteria or something to that nature. I was wrong. It's a ñn excellent Venezuelan Coffee bar with all your favorite Venezuelan bites. You can't go wrong with anything from the menu. I specifically came for the empanadas de carne mechada. Uffff them things are so fire. The cheese ones as well. The chicharrónes are huge and cooked to perfection. They serve breakfast as well, which is also really fire. Holy cow was this a disappointment. Waited 50 min for eggs over easy TO GO. Crazy work. asked for a refund and no food after 40 and they said "it's ready" proceeded to wait another 10 min for this food. I was in a hurry so I ordered to go, I saw at least 15 to go orders get placed and fulfilled before I even was approached about "what was your order again?" made me upset not gonna lie, especially since id tipped well when I placed the order 50 min prior. They seemed to be so uncaring to the point my Hispanic friend genuinely thought it was a race thing since I'm just a white girl... I didn't take Spanish in HS sue me. We ordered too much food and all of it was great. The empanadas were crispy fried with juicy filling. I got the Venezuelan dream breakfast. The eggs were flavorful with peppers and tomato. The shredded beef was juicy and tender. The chicken salad stuff, not sure what it's called, but I've never had it before and it was tasty. They serve a mustardy hot sauce with it, which is excellent. i got the Pepito De Carne for dine in. The beef was very soft and it has the char/flame taste which i really enjoy. The green hot sauce they give you on the side was very good as well. my reviews are stories, friends.. enjoy the read or just go getcha some.. i DID give it 5 stars.. i had to get myself a personal mailbox cuz life happens and houses burn but the world keeps moving and i needed a physical address and a personal mailbox (pmb) allows one to do that.. got one at the nearby ups store so i've had occasion to make my way downtown semi-regularly.. the words 'shredded beef'--and just plain cheese!! queso me up!!--caught my eye and piqued my interest because shredded beef is the way (i keep using that phrase even tho the mandalorian didn't do it for me.. don't hate, i tried.. both seasons), but for whatever reason, i opted to pass.. well, during my foray to fetch the mail i realized my mistake and decided it must be remedied!! so i exit the ups and head for wherever that empanada was making it's very temporary home and . . . i couldn't find it!! couldn't possibly be right; how did this magical window to empanada-land just disappear?? was it sucked back into narnia or fillory and i missed my chance to go?!? I went for a late lunch a few days ago. The food was quite good - I got a sandwich with chicken and avocado (wasn't in the mood for something more traditionally Venezuelan). Unfortunately, it took me *forever* to get my food; I ended up hanging around there for an hour or more at a time when I wouldn't have expected there to be a lunch rush. Heads up to gringos that my waitress wasn't super confident with her English; was completely fine for me but I imagine my mom would kind of struggle. If I worked downtown, I could see myself going here every few weeks, but if I was a tourist I might consider other lunch options in the area. read more

Omg this little gem I found! First off all the prices are very reasonable, the ambiance super hip and cute and the service was excellent. I met with Valentina and Ana and they treated me like family! I ordered two cheese empanadas, boy they are NOT cheap with the cheese. The things were stuffed like a turkey on thanksgiving. Very tasty and flavorful. There's a garlic sauce you can add to these but I don't like garlic :P one made me full, they're quite large. I also ordered mini arepa with cheese and nata-- little corn cake thingies with cheese on top and a milk custard kinda thing. These were amazing!!! They were very eloquently placed and decorated on the plate but the taste of these ... you HAVE to have these. Overall a great experience at this super clean and tasty establishment. They gave us a complimentary soup appetizer which reminded me of the chicken soup my mom makes me when I'm sick. It was good. If you like spicy food their house made green sauce is good. We got a platter with seafood and meat - it was a huge portion for 2 ppl so we took some home. I love seafood but this was more of a tomato based stew seafood? Every time I'm around downtown Miami I make sure I stop by El Sitio Coffe Bar to buy the most delicious Venezuelan cheese empanadas. I have tried Venezuelan empanadas before but here at El Sitio are the best hands down. I should warn you that you will be hooked on once you try them. I also tried the chicken empanadas but they are not good. Another thing I don't really like is the cafe con leche, the coffe has an after taste that is just not good. They have tables inside or outdoors. I like to have a seat outdoors. Or if you don't want to eat there, you could order to go. I will be back for more cheese empanadas. Terrible just terrible, I go every day to get coffee and empanadas, the lady's in the front have bad attitude, they're bitter lady's. They refuse to take my money cause it had a piece of tape on it which I recieved like that myself. Seriously the food is decent but the vibes is awful, I rather walk a block down and get better service then stand there and give my money away to people who don't only not give me my change back but then refuse to attend me the correct way.
