My chicken and Rice was fine. My son ordered a burrito.... His meal came 15 minutes after my meal.... I was done eating when it arrived. Weird. No I'm sorry about the kitchen doing that or anything..... there was also a hidden fee in the pricing.... The prices on the menus did not match the bill... when I asked the cashier what that was about he stated that we charge you a fee for using a credit or debit card.... I didn't see that posted when I walked in or on the menu... I may have missed it but.... It wasn't in bold text anywhere that I was sitting..... read more

Not very good the veggie fajitas were probably the best out of our whole meal. Hardly any refined beans rice was ok my husband got the chicken nachos and literally it was just chips and shredded chicken liquid cheese no beans lettuce tomato the saddest nachos we've seen. Also kitchen staff does not wear gloves only a couple had one glove on one hand one guy looked like he was eating as he was serving the plates. We won't be going back I'm surprised people actually like eating there maybe it's because they don't know what real Mexican food tastes like. read more

You have to travel to the edge of waverly to reach this shabby on the outside Mexican fiesta on the inside restaurant. We went for a birthday party on a Sunday morning about 11. It wasn't busy but we were greeted immediately by a nice lady. Our waiter was fantastic. We had a large group of people and he got our drinks immediately and kept the refills coming. Half our group did the breakfast buffet. The other half ordered from the menu. The menu items were served very quickly and looked authentic. I should have done that route. I did the buffet. If I would have come earlier I'm sure it would have been fresher and fuller. They had classics such as eggs, sausage links and patties, pancakes and biscuits and gravy. They also had rice and refried beans and I guess they normally have breakfast burritos. The burritos were out and they only make so many, once they are gone they are gone. The pancakes were quite good, better than you would think for a Mexican restaurant. But nothing else was epic. The restaurant was clean and the decor tasteful. This is a restaurants on one side and bar on the other. I bet it's pretty hopping in the evenings. We had a 10 year olds birthday party here because it's his favorite place to eat. The waiter offered plates and spoons for the cake and took great care of our table. I could have probably given five stars if I would have ordered off the menu as what I had from the buffet was not awesome. I know better for next time. read more

Authentic food and friendly service. Everytime I've ate there the service is always fast and the staff is always friendly. My favorite dish there is the Enchilada Chicken Con Mole. One of the best mole sauces I've ever tasted if not thee best. They also have an amazing lunch buffet to make tacos and enchiladas. I highly recommend this restaurant. Fantastic Authentic Mexican! I was disappointed when we moved here from NC and could not find a decent Mexican restaurant in the area. El Senor opened shortly there after and it is our family's go-to for Mexican food. Their food is great and after years of going, we are treated like family. Love Ruben and Lupe and their children! Service is always spot on and their margaritas are epic! If you're looking for great Mexican food in an awesome atmosphere in Bremer/Butler county... Forget Chapala's...
