My bartender was Katie. It's pretty slow during lunch when I showed up. She was very easy to talk to and knew the menu really well. The inside of the brewery was very clean and well organized, and I love all the artwork. I ordered a tamale to start with and then I had tacos. They all had great flavors and I ordered a beer as well. It was very easy to find a place to park. I got very lucky and I wouldn't mind going back again. The only thing I would say is that hopefully they would have a gluten-free beer to match their gluten-free tamales. Great Mexican food in Fremont. We grabbed dinner here on a Saturday evening! They have tamales, tacos, appetizers, and desserts on the menu. The agua fresca was the best and most fresh I have ever had (we tried the mango and watermelon). The guacamole and chips ($9) was also wonderful. The Chorizo and Cheese Tamale ($8) was lovely and a great size - my sister and I split one and it was plenty. The interior is laidback and festive. The atmosphere was pretty laid-back with tables and a bar. The service was very quick and helpful. We had the sampler salsa and chips the beans the guacamole and the salsa were all delicious and fed four of us as a great appetizer. My daughter and I split the jalapeño and cheese tamale. What an amazing spot! If we were to have any complaints it would just be that parking is a pain because of Seattle's constant construction but worth it to go here. The food, the drinks, the service, all of it was wonderful! We had the no hate no fear beer special, the spiked agua Fresca (mango pineapple was the day's flavor), chips and queso, nachos with carnitas, and the tamale special with barbacoa. Went to a drag brunch here and it was SO much fun. It is a gay owned Mexican bar and restaurant with such a cool story. Starting in 2015 just making tamales then they combined it with a brewery in 2022. I love supporting local businesses! The staff and service were so nice and quick even with the chaos of the event. We also tried their food and it was so good! We had the chips with guac and chips with queso and chorizo. Both were delicious and the chips you could tell they make themselves! Also tried their tamales... mushroom and cheese and it was so good. They serve it on the husk but just a boat of it so the tamale is sitting on top ready for you to eat but so presentable. I got their "spicy" salsa but it was not spicy.. I enjoy spicy so this was more mild to me not even medium. It was nice and sunny outside so I did not really want a beer and got their paloma which was delicious. Next time I will definitely try one of their brews! read more

This is the brewery component of Frelard Tamales (same restaurant, you order food and beer at the same time/from the same waitperson). Beer is mostly lighter styles. I think most people who drink beer would be able to find something to enjoy here. Unlike the Bellingham location, this place is almost exclusively indoor seating plus a couple picnic tables outside. Checked out this place for dinner with my husband. We ordered the following appetizers: crispy tacos, chips and queso, shrimp a la Diabla and a jalapeño and cheese tamale. We also had a vegan horchata and a beer. The beer was decent and the vegan horchata was tasty and delicious. As others reviewers have stated, it tasted like it had oat milk in it which was interesting to have that aftertaste but not a bad thing. Sadly we did not like the food. It wasn't bad but it wasn't good either. At least not good enough for us to consider a second visit. The chips are too thick, although the queso was good. The shrimp had a sweet sauce to them, which wasn't bad but also wasn't very interesting and the crispy tacos were just mediocre with a potato and cheese filling. The tamale had too much masa and not enough filling so it was dry and the ratios were wrong. If anything there should've been more cheese in them. I did not taste any jalapeño. We ordered the spicy red house and it had good flavor but the sauce was poured over the wrapper so a lot of it went to waste. You choose your seats and many tables are connected so you may be sitting with strangers. It was difficult to understand the waitress but the service was fine. read more

I've been a loyal customer of the old Frelard Tamales shop for years and have been looking forward to checking out their new digs and 2nd brewery location in Fremont called El Sueñito. I was impressed by the roominess of their new restaurant and the variety of food and beverages offered in their expanded menu. They have certainly come a long way from their humble little pick-up window that they lovingly took with them when they moved to this brighter and more lively location. We had the Mexican lager but next time will definitely try the flight which allows you to try up to four beers! Horchata was one of the best I've had ever. I think it was made with oat milk. Such creamy goodness and perfect level of sweetness and cinnamon. Service was somewhat slow at times but everyone was super kind and helpful. It was busy on a Saturday night which was great to see. Great beer in a great area. Frelard Tamales is attached so there's also food. You come in, grab an open table, and they will drop off menus for you. Once you're ready to order, you turn a little place card right side up to indicate you want service. Focusing on the drinks--I got their horchata, and it's actually vegan here, but tasted good. There's little grains of cinnamon. The dark Mexican Larger was delicious, lots of flavor and it was smooth. Service was quick even though the place was busy. read more

El Suenito Brewing has gotten a location in Seattle! Hooray! Steve and I were at their original location in Bellingham location a while back and just loved their tamales and beer! It was no exception this time either as we immensely enjoyed our meal at this location also! This time around I got their Salsa Roja Pork tamale and their Jalapeño Cheese tamale. They were as good as I remember them. The tamale part of the operation is Frelard Tamale. And of course it wouldn't be a complete experience without getting their beer. At first the waitress misunderstood me (it was quite noisy here) that I wanted a regular horchata drink and while I didn't know the exact name of the horchata flavored beer I wanted I got a horchata. But this looked so good so even after we got it straightened out we kept the horchata and it was wonderful! The horchata type beer, the Dulce Muerte was a milk stout and was great! Flavor features with this beer are vanilla and cinnamon as being predominant. The beer is also creamy and sweet. We took a six pack home of this beer to enjoy more of in the days to come. Can't wait to return again! Glad there is a closer location compared to Bellingham for us but either location us excellent. read more

Welcome to Seattle El Suenito! It was a Saturday night in Ballard, and we decided to check out this new place from Bellingham. We were hungary and wanted some tamales. Decided to check this place out. We were introduced by a wait time. However, it moved right along. Our restaurant greeter was awesome. She was on the ball. It was about a 30-minute wait. When we were sat. Our server that we knew from Carin Brewery was a nice surprise. We ordered brews, tamales, and sides. The food was delicious. The dishes had a nice presentation. I was impressed to know that tamales are made every day at the restaurant. I left happy having eating some good food. Recommend this place, and we'll be back. read more

Saw an instagram video about this place and went here to try it! Parking is tough on the main road. When sat down you have a card to flip from horizontal to vertical to get the waiter/waitress's attention to order. Ordered the chips and queso with chorizo (sooo delicious! Delicious. I was lucky enough to have experience Frelard Tamales being within walking distance from my house (dangerous), and was sad to see that location go. Love the concept and the story of this place, however the service wasn't great tbh. We sat outside and they brought us an umbrella which was nice, but then they never came by to check on us... first time trying out the food here and it was ok. the tamales are actually not bad but both the sauces (verde & roja) lack flavor. it's pretty bland. The rice and beans were not bad too. But the main item that absolutely disappointed me was their horchata. By far the worst horchata drink I've ever had. It had a thick hazelnut (?) syrup texture and grainy aftertaste which was off putting. Almost 7$ for a drink that doesn't resemble what the drink should actually taste like. Kale was bitter and tough. Overall: heavily over priced for the food. Might be the norm in Fremont though. Wanted to give more stars be the inedible dishes prevented me from doing that. 4 of us sat down on a not busy tuesday. The chair nazi immediately said we cant sit apart with chairs in between. We mentioned we might have a few more people coming. He was insistent that we move next to each other. Three people joined us and his first reaponse was you must pay one check and gratuity is included. Standard for most places but he was weirdly focused in making sure we understood this and our seating arrangements. We were a group of business professionals 50 year old and over. Its not like we are college students! Food was actially good with one caveat. We ordered the nachos and i swalloed what I thought was a bone that got loged on the side of my throat. Nothing too serious but was difficult to eat more but I continued. We had more people show up and were at least 12 people. Again the server focused on the rules was immediately talking about he will only do one check. So strange to be focused on this! At the end we tried to pay for a bill as some had to leave early. The server now busier said one check but people were leaving and others hadnt even esten yet. He then proceeded to just ignore us until we convinced him to let us pay for the first 10 people that down. I mean a complete joke. Lastly when I finally was able to unlodge the "bone" inmy throat as i'm driving home it turns out it was a piece of metal! Thats right metal and probably cut me inside my throat. My parents are from Mexico and my mom's tamales are so so good (sure I'm biased).My friend recommended this place so I stopped by for lunch. I would never tell my mother this but these tamales are is good or even better. The beers are bomb too. Will be back and I live in port orchard! I mostly liked this place. I had ordered the Tamales at the Frelard Tamales window near Green Lake, so I anticipated these would be good too, and the chorizo one I had was good, and larger than the typical tamale. The Dark Mexican lager was fine also. The one Tamal plate comes with rice, beans and pickled vegetables at a fair price. Nice workers, and a very tidy place in the Seattle Minimalism style seen wherever pints of beer are sold, however, maybe TOO tidy. In that, the tamale comes with your choice of a green or red sauce. Mine had a small puddle of sauce. Now tamales can be kind of dry, so where is the hot sauce that's on every table in every Mexican restaurant and on the shelf next to the window of every taco truck? Where is the bottle of Cholula or Tapatio? Not on the table here or anywhere to be seen. No sauce counter with bottles of assorted sauces. I guess keeping things tidy meant those messy containers were banished. Sour cream comes squiggled over the top. No messy bowls of sour cream! So, this was my main complaint with this place. It was so focused on the streamlined presentation, it felt almost like a chain restaurant where authenticity is just something that gets in the way of efficiency. But the tamales are good. read more
