Stopped by this place on a very random brewery hop day while visiting Seattle. We sat at the bar and just enjoyed a few drinks. There were plenty of beers on tap (I don't really drink beer, but my friends said their beers were good). There's also a ginger beer on tap, I believe it's a rotating flavor, and I got that to try! This is my 2nd time at Ghostfish but the first time I've ordered food. I have to say I was impressed. Stopped in before the Mariner's game on Sunday and split the poutine with my husband. It was really delicious and I love that it's gluten free! After a beer and what would normally be a heavy meal, I felt really good and didn't feel like a nap was in order. We were in Seattle a few weeks ago scouting out apartments for my son. With my wife being gluten free, she always feels like the 3rd wheel when we eat out. Not this day. This stop was for her. And, she was in heaven...all the beer and deep fried food she has been missing for years. Service is obscenely abysmal. Listen to all the prior reviews complaining about it. First of all, it's slow AF. Took 5min to get noticed when I'm literally standing by the "please wait to be seated sign." Did they hire these servers from the DMV? Second of all, the bar dude with glasses and mustache literally threw the coaster at me. I don't know what kind of overt aggression this was, but I did nothing other than waiting patiently to get noticed, and responding to their abberrant annoyance with please and thank yous. We were doing a tour across the street and decided to pop in before our tour. We got seated right away and ordered some fries and a beer flight. Our server explained each beer perfectly. The only downside was it took forever to just get the fries and our server hardly ever came back. All of the beers we sampled were great. I will start on a positive note that the beer was delicious, atmosphere was cool, music bopping, and a pretty steady crowd. Was service the best? No but it was a Friday afternoon on a beautiful day, so I get it, an indoor/outdoor brewery is likely to get pretty crowded. Good for them. Little annoying but nothing that would typically make me pick up my phone and write a review. After a decently long wait for our wings, they arrived and were..disappointing. There was an extreme lack of sauce and absolutely not how you would picture a standard buffalo wing. Fine, the annoyance is starting to build and we requested some extra sauce and thought we would just fix them up on our own. Well, the sauce wasn't quite coating the wings but good enough. Biting into them was troublesome. They had an off putting taste, almost like extreme freezer burn but honestly, I have no idea if they were frozen or not. I would argue inedible. And then of course as I was biting in, bit into a piece that was literally not able to be chewed through. In an effort to not let our extreme hanger win, we stopped eating after two wings and asked for the check to get out of there ASAP. When it came, our disappointment was noted, we asked if that was how the wings always look and were told no. Not sure why the kitchen staff or wait staff didn't stop this order before it even came out. Instead of a simply nice apology, we kind of got a little bit of a sarcastic and insincere response. Note, we didn't ask for them to be comped, we didn't ask for a fresh order, we just wanted to let them know that their wings were disappointing and inedible. I don't normally like to start with a complaint on the internet but when you nicely try to let the restaurant know first and you get attitude from a server looking like a deer in headlights, this is what you get. Finally gluten free fish and chips! I was very happy with my meal. The fish was crispy on the outside and soft and tender and flaky on the inside and everything tasted very fresh and flavorful. Comfort food for sure. I had my meal with a ginger beer and it was great as well. There seems to be a fair amount of seating inside. "I'm home!" - Every person with celiac I've known of this place since I've had its beer before. Shrouded some has been one of my favorite beers for quite a while and I was really glad that the brewery was open when I was in town. I knew it was going to be one of the first places I went to. The amount of gluten-free options are amazing! It's very rare. I get to go out to a bar and drink or eat anything. This was my first time having onion rings ever. They were amazing by the way! My server's name was Allie, and she was pleasant to work with. She was very patient while I made my choices, she even made one of the recommendation for my beer flight, which was amazing. For food, I had the onion rings, the sweet potato taco, and for dessert I had tres lychee all of which were amazing. I didn't know what to expect for ambience when I walked in. I was expecting maybe a bunch of college kids, but I saw people of all ages, and everyone seemed to have a pleasant time and enjoy enjoying themselves as they should in life. A gluten free slice of heaven!! It's so rare to find a completely gf restaurant and then a gf brewery to boot? Seriously amazing! We were thankfully seated quickly on a Friday evening with a party of just two, even though it was very busy. I confirmed with the friendly server that EVERYTHING on their menu was gf because that's impressive and so rare. EVERYTHING is, including all of their beer! I haven't drank a beer in many years, so when in Rome, I ordered the Meteor Shower Pale Lager. The lager was cold, light, refreshing, and delicious. My gluten eating husband enjoyed it and ordered a second. We split the parmesan truffle fries. The fries were hot, crispy, and had just the right amount of truffle funk and parmesan. We split the blackened salmon blt with a kale salad. The sandwich was awesome! The salmon was cooked perfectly, and the bun stuck together! The flavors jived nicely. Oh yeah, this place is dummy good ! I'm gonna start with dessert. We had the churro and I'm telling you the churro is the bomb.com so crispy and the sauces they serve with it is just phenomenal. Now we live down close to Portland, Oregon and yes, we do have some gluten-free options there however, this place was on our list to visit for a very long time in Seattle . My daughter ordered the fish and chips. The fish was tender. The breading was phenomenal and their coleslaw was fantastic too. Now my son ordered the mac & cheese. He had them put crumbled bacon on top. I mean it's nature's candy. You can't go wrong there. We also got some of their chili and put it on our fries that we had ordered with the chicken strips and everything just Tantalized our taste buds. My son's favorite thing was the onion rings because he hadn't had an onion ring in like 10 years and the batter was just perfect and nothing like dipping into some fantastic barbecue sauce. I really enjoyed having a taster of one of their gluten-free beers. I'm not a big beer drinker, but what I tried was really fruity and refreshing. On the way out the door I noticed the gentleman that had been walking around talking to everybody. I figured he was the owner and of course he was. We stopped by dinner, we were going to concert near by. I ordered fish taco. We shared orders of fries and onions rings. The fish taco was good. It has another stuff mixed in, nothing stand out about it. Onion ring on other hand was good, thick batter and stay crispy. The truffle fries were crispy and not too salty. It was busy Sunday night but service was still good. There were pretty of tables inside and did not have to wait long to be seated. It is 100% gluten free that includes the beer. First time the fish and chips were super greasy but I really liked them. Second time was Monday this week , pleasant wait staff dinner was good. Third time bad attitude grumpy waiter. I researched best spots through my find me gluten free app and this spot was at the very top. Nick our server was amazing!! He accommodated our large party size that just kept growing. He was super helpful with ordering, especially beer. I am not a huge beer fan but when visiting a gluten free brewery one MUST try and he agreed. The meteor one was my favorite although I still prefer the root beer and wine over an actual beer. Everything we ordered was amazing.
