Came in on a Friday night and learned that Old Stove Brewing gets busy for a reason! All the outdoor tables were full when we arrived at 6, so we put our name on the list for inside and waited about 30 minutes. The oysters were the main draw for me, and they were totally worth the visit. Old Stove serves them with a savory watermelon sauce in addition to a traditional cocktail sauce--eaten together, it's a flavor explosion that I can't quite describe. We also enjoyed the garlic everything fries, which were delicious! We just had to try a flight to sample the brews. There are some really good beers available here, especially the Belgian blonde, citra pale ale, and the stout. I did not really care for the seasonal sour (grapefruit, I think)--to me, it just tasted like a sour and nothing more, but someone with more interest in sour beers would probably enjoy it just fine. Despite the busy night, our server checked on us regularly and was very personable, stopping to chat with us about the local sports scene. There's plenty to look at, inside and out. If you can snag a seat outside, you'll get to enjoy the waterfront. Inside, the decor is industrial but fun. Not sure if this runs all the time, but when we were there, the tvs were playing vintage beer ads, which was quite fun. They also sell some pretty good t-shirt designs. I have to give credit where it's due--the service was impeccable. The staff was attentive, friendly, and did their best to make sure we had a good experience. Unfortunately, the food was a different story. We ordered the cod fish basket, and while it was cooked as well done as we requested, it was extremely greasy to the point that it was not edible. The staff did try to correct the issue, which I appreciated, but the fish was still far too greasy to enjoy. The small Caesar salad was good, and the water was refreshing. That's it, that's all. Came here following another Yelp Event nearby actually and decided to have a couple rounds with another Yelper. I just had a couple rounds of beers and split a flight with my new friend. I didn't find the pours I got to be particularly memorable. I had a Circuit breaker which was probably the best. Pomegranate sour was passable as was the Citra streaker, but none of them slapped. The place was swamped with people and while I understand the setting. for the number of staff running around here, the place was dirty. I'd think they'd have a couple of the servers come thought and sweep up and clean the tables. So my impressions of Old Stove is that it's a huge restaurant/brewery that tourists can come to as it's close to Pike Place and the pier, but as a result is slammed so bad that it looks a bit worse for the wear, or at least it was on my visit on a weekday evening. read more

This place in s in pikes market area. It's a little challenging to find, but it has a wonderful vibe. It overlooks the water about three stories up. The places designed for high volume food. You feel very rushed make all their own beer, the staff is very friendly. And the menu is limited, which is really good because you're not gonna wait very long for your food. It's not fine dining, it's very casual dining so you can wear flip-flops and shorts. It's about $35 a person, so it's not cheap. I would consider coming back here again, however, I know of other places of choice that I would choose in that area. This spot was a great find in the middle of Pikes Place Market. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. We were able to snag a top for 6 on a walk in just in time before the crowd. The staff was friendly, but just didn't pay as much attention to bringing napkins and silverware, but we were next to the station so we helped ourselves. The menu is limited which is nice to make deciding easy. We started off by sharing the clams which was phenomenal. Need more toast to sop up the mustard sauce. Three of us had the grilled sockeye salmon sandwich and it was delicious and not overcooked. The burger was made perfectly medium. The fish and chip was good as well. It was getting late in the day and this place seem like the right spot for food and beer. We walked in and got seated immediately. No wait at all. All three of us ordered flights. They gave us these post cards to write down our individual drinks. FYI - this place requires using your smart phone to scan a QR code for the menu. We ordered 2 apps (salmon dip with pita chips & chips and cheese dip) I ordered fish and chips. Buddy got the meat loaf. Our beer showed up quick. Waiter always checked on us often. Our apps showed up and they were both delicious. Then 5 minutes later our main dish orders showed up. Wasn't too happy with that because we wasted time to taste our beers and snack on the apps. They need to work on their timing. Need at least 10 minutes in between the beer and apps. The food overall is admittedly top notch. Fish and chips FRESH! The fish was juicy and the fried crust was perfection. Pieces were large. They will ask if you want 3 or 4. 3 is enough. If they can work on timing the drinks and food this place would be a 5 out 5, but will deduct a star because of that. The overall vibe of the place was nice. The 5 stars are for the service, ambiance and dessert (only thing we ate). Visiting Seattle for the second time and after dinner nearby (we went for $2 oysters) we decided we needed something sweet. Looked at the menu online and decided to stop by. Lots of seating and nice big open space. View of Elliot Bay was nice. My honey ordered a beer and then we decided on the Brownie Skillet. In no time it was set in front of us and it smelled heavenly. The server warned us it was large and she was right. What a great brewery! The staff were all SUPER nice and welcoming. We went on a pretty busy evening (mariners day game just ended) and had a toddler with us. We did have about a 45 minute wait (we were told an hour so honestly, great!). The beer was excellent and the food was so good. We got a half dozen clams (that cocktail sauce was very good), a burger with salad (both very good as well - burger was cooked perfectly and the bun tasted fresh), and a kids grilled cheese with fries. I know this sounds weird but what an amazing grilled cheese??? My kid is only 17 months and wasn't going to eat all that so I took a bite and had to stop myself from eating it all. Here are my thoughts on them and information to help you decide what best to choose. 1. Old Stove Pilsner, 4.2% ABV, 161 IBU- Light and refreshing for summer drinking or just not wanting something heavy. 2. Belgian Blonde, 6.7% ABV 25 IBU- Definitely fits the description on the menu. A spicy beer full of body. 3. Streaker Citra Pale 5.7% ABV, 30 IBU- A delicious hazy style craft brew. 4. Two-Pronged Crown IPA 6.66% ABV, 53 IBU- A typical IPA with that hoppy flavor throughout. yummy. 5. Hell Hawk Pastry Stout 7.2% ABV, 36 IBU-My favorite today! Smooth easy drinking perfect for a rainy-day beverage. 6. Seasonal Sour, Today, A key lime sour. 4.9% ABV- 51 IBU- Sort of a weird flavor after tasting the others. But on its' own a delicious sour for a hot summer day. Food here has always been yummy and service is always friendly. The ambiance is cool too. The television was playing old time beer commercials. Very funny and interesting to think things used to be so simple. Just drink beer and be happy. lol. Seating outside is first come first serve. Bar seating is the same. The beer is fine and the food is classic pub grub, nothing super special, the service is quick and friendly. I'm not used to not going into a brewery and just ordering a beer at the bar. Needing to wait for a spot to open up was foreign to me. I understand it now but be warned that you don't just come in and order a beer. The bar and outside is first come, first serve. You will have to wait until something opens up. It didn't help that the person explaining it was rude and inconsiderate. However, after that point, my goodness was my experience great. Old Stove Brewing serves no nonsense food, features amazing beers, and offers this oversized cookie dessert thing that could easily feed a party of 6. It overlooks the Waterfront which is especially lovely during twilight time. Easy going vibes where you'll find both locals and tourists alike enjoying the view and the food and drinks. Food: Blue cheese burger, medium, extra onions, and garlic fries - Hit the spot. Burger was juicy. Right amount of blue cheese. Crisp fries. Plain cheddar cheese burger and fries - No complaints from my kiddo. Margherita pizza - Good. So much so that I refused to share. Old Stove Pilsner - crispy and light and refreshing. Belgian Blonde - so balanced that it went well with both food and the cookie. Speaking of chocolate chip cookie skillet - you know when you want a little something sweet to just top off the meal? Yeah, this was a lot more than a little something. But with all those gooey chocolate chips and vanilla ice cream, who's gonna complain? Great place, lovely views, good food and friendly service! The first thing that stands out about this place is location. Sometimes places with great locations don't get it right, but I think Old Stove seems to have a winning formula for the most part. I think what lost a star for me was the beginning of the experience. The place feels a little confusing at first, noone is directing you, and you just kind of have to figure it out on your own. There were QR codes for menus, but they would bring a menu if you'd ask, but some contradictory instructions for ordering. The place was busy and it wasn't necessarily clear what all was available for seating, no one was really available initially to ask and it didn't feel clear where you would go to ask. Anyway, we stood at a table outside and it was a great experience because of the view and the friendly service. We split fish and chips and it was delicate and fresh on the inside and crispy on the outside. The fries were good and their tartar sauce and lemon aioli enhanced the food.
