    the inside of a deli

This place is like stepping into Mexico. Wow there is more Mexican things than anything else. It's soooo busy. So many people. I love how they make everything! Literally from food... to salsas.... to tortillas... and pan... and they prepare your meat! The prices on the things they make are very reasonable . The other American items are not. Lol. It could be cleaner, and they could use more staff.

Well, what can I say - it was my first time to El Super late on a Saturday night coming in with my date as we were in the neighborhood. Parking was fine and being the first time for both of us, I'll confess it was a bit of a novelty from what we're used to. This is not your trendy health food store for sure! Upon entry from the west entrance, the bakery/produce are first and those cakes on display looked delicious adjacent to the piñatas lining the shelf overlooking the produce. Definitely lots of variety you won't find in Ralph's, although we were a bit dissatisfied with the avocados since they were too raw or too ripe. The date however, will be back for a grande bag of black beans: he made that promise! We didn't scour the whole store aisle to aisle: our intent was to grab ingredients for grilled cheese sandwiches. Bread wise, we opted for baguettes found in the glass cases at the bakery. We also got pears (the grilled cheese truck does it, just sayin'...), and went through the cheese section and got some yellow and white soft cheeses. Everything worked out since the sandwiches turned out excellent! I squeed with happiness to find arroz con leche ready made in the deli and got a pound of it too. Customer service was fine there, and delivered with a smile with no problem. I didn't get a chance to try it, but he's been eating it on his own and really loves it! We'll get more. With a couple additional items, we cashed out - the date was super friendly to the cashier and she didn't acknowledge him (rude). I'm sure she was tired, but she could have pretended. I know he'll be back to continue the novelty and perhaps I will too, but at a lesser degree. :)

How the fuck is there ALWAYS an insane line here? They don't even have good deals. Please put a Ralph's here or something.

I've been standing in line for 15 minutes. All the lines are long, only four lanes open. Ridiculous!

Just keep in mind that everything is high quality & with high quality means you are spending extra cash money $$$. This lowkey spot is facing the north bound side of las tunas close to a dominoes pizza. In between Ardmore Dr & Santa Anita St. Across from a hospital(San Gabriel Medical Center) Right next to Dumplings To Go[They have good dumplings there too]. Parking should be easy on Las Tunas but if it looks packed then you can easily go to the back between Ardmore dr & Santa Anita behind dominos and walk around to their only entrance in the front. Once inside on your right you will see all the different choices of food from cuts like A5 Japanese Wagyu to lamb skewers. They also have tofu, mushrooms, condiments and other hotpot essentials. They accept both cash and card inside. No restrooms. Just buy what you like and go. All of their quality meats are your average tastiness; food tastes better than your regular grocery stores. During summer you can find their Summer Skewer Special only on Fridays Saturdays & Sundays in the back. I between believe their hours are 3PM-8PM some times they open later like 9PM CASH ONLY for this special time. I been coming here for two years for their ribeyes by snake rivers farm and angus prime. Well now since they started their skewers cook out, I had to suggest to them(last week) to have their Wagyu skewers. bomb! They specialize is fresh meat to go. You go in, pick the raw skewers you want from their huge selection, and they pack everything fresh for you. They've got a wide variety of meats and marinades, so it's easy to mix and match and try different flavors in one meal. Everything looks fresh and well seasoned, and once you get it on the grill it gives you that legit street BBQ skewer feel at home. It's perfect for gatherings or a weekend cookout because all the hard work is already done for you. The only downside is the price. It adds up pretty quickly, especially when you start grabbing multiple skewers because there are so many good options. Definitely more of a special occasion or group meal type of place rather than an everyday buy. Still, for the quality, convenience, and the variety they offer, it's a really fun and unique spot when you're craving skewers and want something different from the usual.

Miao Yun isn't one of those flashy modern markets, it's the kind of place people recommend because the quality is consistently amazing and the owner genuinely cares. & the owner is the sweetest uncle ever! He's attentive, warm, remembers preferences, gives great recommendations, and somehow always steers me toward something good. I usually ask for fattier cuts of meat and he NEVER misses. The quality of the sliced meats here is honestly better and fresher than what I've gotten from a lot of larger Asian markets in SGV, and the pricing is better too. This is basically my one-stop shop for hot pot night. Frozen sliced meats, fish balls, condiments & sauces, noodles, etc... the store has pretty much everything you need. The selection is great and it's easy to walk out with your entire spread planned. Also worth mentioning: plenty of parking in the outdoor lot, which makes stocking up way less stressful. What keeps me coming back though isn't just the quality or pricing - it's the service. In an area with endless food options, it's rare to find a place that still feels this personal. You can tell the owner truly cares that you leave happy. One of my favorite hidden gems in SGV and a place I'll keep coming back to forever
