The tacos were amazing! I popped in for a light lunch and only ordered two tacos, grilled chicken and carnitas. The tortillas were house made and perfect. The grilled chicken was hot and juicy and came served with onion and cilantro. The carnitas was slightly dry and I would not order that again. I had red sauce and verde and both were house made and excellent. Chips and red sauce were served complementary. I do not think the chips were house made. I will definitely be returning! read more

Tonight, I stopped in for the second time ever and asked the server about specials. She said there aren't any on Fridays. I ordered and paid for my to go order and sat down to wait, just like last week. As so looked around the store I noticed their chalkboard with the specials. One said "Full Month Special", buy one get one combinations. I asked the server about it and she said she didn't consider that a special, despite the name. One of my orders was a combination and she didn't double it, or offer me a second one. The old adage is: You can sheer a sheep many times, but skin them only once. I usually go here on Taco Tuesday evening week but this week was exceptionally terrible. I usually get 10 chicken tacos, corn tortilla. They usually are served with salantro on, lime and two sauces, but today I get a flour tortilla, no sauce, no lime and much to my displeasure, the tacos didn't even taste good and that's after a long wait. We tried a carnitas torta and some chicken tacos today. The salsa and chips came first. The chips were hot and fresh and the salsa was better than your average Mexican restaurant salsa. The torta was a little heavy on the mayo, but that didn't stop it from being delicious and something I would order again. The bread and the pork were particularly good. Fries came with it. The fries were hot and plentiful. Couldn't do much more than put a dent in the fries. The tacos were solid too, garnished with onion and cilantro and with a couple of cups of salsa. Please expect to wait, and please do not get upset that you have to do so. This is a smaller establishment with few employees, so it takes a while for you to get your food. We waited more than twenty minutes, but our food didn't come out cold, and I really enjoyed it. Tacos come in two forms: 1) corn tortilla with cilantro and onions and 2) flour tortilla with cheese and lettuce. Steak fajita nachos: these were pretty big so one person can definitely get full off of these. Every chip gets covered in queso; EVEN THE BOTTOM ONES. No complaints there. Plenty of sautéed onions and peppers. I wish they had a salsa for this because they can lack a little in flavor. We had to use what little salsa verde and chipotle salsa leftover for them but it wasn't enough. Tacos al pastor: pretty typical. Not bad but not great. Recommend on corn with cilantro:onion. Shredded chicken taco: on Tuesdays, the chicken and ground beef tacos are 0.99. It's a good deal. I'd recommend them on flour with cheese and lettuce. Fish taco: surprisingly good. It's not fried but they manage to get a beautiful crust on it on the flat top. I recommend them on flour with cheese and lettuce. Tacos de lengua: tied with fish tacos for the best. These also take a trip to the flat top until they're charred. It gives them this beautiful crisp that goes great along with the corn tortilla and cilantro and onion. Tried El Taco Veloz for lunch today. Going back to pick up dinner tonight! Order at the right hand window and pick up at the left. Service was prompt and the food was out in less than 10 minutes. Had a lingua taco and a chorizo taco, on corn tortillas with lime, cilantro and onions, and a side of green sauce. They were fairly small diameter (normal for authentic tacos), but filled very full and served very hot right off the griddle. The lingua was very tender with a bit of searing on the griddle. Excellent! The chorizo was chopped up and seared the same way. It was excellent as well. The tortillas had a very fresh taste and texture like they were just made. The actual restaurant will make you want to keep driving, but stop and park. Get out, order and enjoy! I found out because 3-4 folks were raving about "that new taco place". They have daily specials. the best way is to get the menu, then call it in and pick it up. They only have outdoor seating. It is basically a Mexican food truck, but with out the wheels. While the building looks like an old drive up ice cream hop, the food certainly isn't like that! I was pleasantly surprised at the authenticity of the food. I had the steak tacos on corn tortillas with some chips and salsa. The tacos were made to order, even the steak. Took a chance on this lil spot since I've been craving a good ole street taco since moving from Chicago. Walk in and its a cozy traditional taco joint. I'd ordered in advance online and my order was pretty much ready upon arrival. I checked my order and it was not correct. I mentioned to the young lady that I'd paid for cheese to be added to my tacos and it was not. So she gave me a bowl of cheese to go. No problem. So then I confirmed the rest of the order only to find I was missing 3 steak tacos all together and had been given 2 extra carnita. She asked to give them back my box so she could remove them. I objected. Why would you go back in my order, touch my food with your cashier hands? Just replace me 2 steak tacos. I mean you gonna throw the others away anyway right. She confirms she is gonna put them in a box..I'm like really you gonna serve tacos that I just touched to someone else? That is totally unsanitary with or without covid. So then she says you wanna watch me throw them away? I didn't care really if she let me keep them or not, buy really you'd rather throw them away than allow me to keep them because you messed up the order? Food is relatively good. You'll wait for a pretty long time to actually receive your food though. Went last week and they double charged my boyfriends debit card. Absolutely love this place. The tacos are closer to what you would get in a real taqueria than most of the other Mexican restaurants in town (which seem more Tex-mex). Salsa is made in house and VERY fresh. I also strongly recommend the quesadilla supreme. This has become our go-to Thursday evening food pick up. Which is something to be noted. This is not a sit down restaurant. They do have patio tables outside if you want to eat there. But it is more intended to be a pick up and go restaurant. On a slow day, you can expect about a 5-15 minute wait. On busier days it can be significantly longer. So I recommend either showing up at irregular times or ordering ahead and picking up. read more

Absolutely the best Mexican food in the area. Most seems to be made from scratch. Communication can be a bit of a problem. Orders are often a bit wrong but what you get tastes good. Also serve bottled Coke's made with sugar rather than corn syrup. read more
