This restaurant is a long-time favorite. The food is some of the best Tex-Mex in Columbus, and the staff is always super-friendly. An additional plus is that the restaurant has more seating than many places so there's never a long wait for a table. Prices are also very reasonable. Monday noon. Four of us were able to get a table easily. Maybe less than half of booth/table were full. Got the Coco's Salad with chicken - $15.25. I was expecting more vegetables than meat as it is a salad dish but it was more of a meat dish and side of vegetables. Seasoned/marinated chicken was good and went well with the vegetables. The service here is always incredible. You sit down and immediately you get chips and salsa. The menu is large and everything is awesome. My grandson loves the enchilada with rice and beans. Decided to check this place out. So glad we did. I was craving for some good asada and found it. Place was big and clean. They were pretty busy but the wait was not long. This place can accommodate large parties. Service was a bit slower than I like but it made up for it with our meals. Pricing isn't bad and the portions are decent. Parking can be tight so recommend going slightly off hours. Definitely one of our favorites now and will absolutely go back when we crave Mexican food! read more

Let's start with the positive aspects. The food was good. The quesadillas were filled to the brim with beaf and chicken. Definitely did not skimp on the meat. No sour cream which I thought was standard. The chicken fajita was also loaded with meat and flavor, needed more lettuce and side items. The server was very nice but forgot the water even after being reminded twice and the place was not busy. The tequila sunrise was small and not well balanced but strong with booze. The chips and salsa aren't even mediocre. I was really not expecting much because my litmus test for Mexican restaurants is usually the chips and salsa. Thankfully the Molcajete Bowl dish that I had was delicious! I'd recommend trying it. I wouldn't mind having the same food, but not served in a huge 4000 degree stone bowl that is supposed to sit inches in front of me while I eat.... It was a little dingy on the inside, and I didn't love the use of the tabletop space as an advertisement page. The food is delicious, service is always fast and friendly, and it's a great place to meet up with friends/family after work or on a weekend. Just had the worst service ever there, we as a group that goes once or twice a month, maybe more, to this restaurant on Wednesday nights and sits along side the wall near the bar and group of anywhere from 8 to 14 people. Tonight we had a group of 8 and a male waitress and he was awful, I mean the worst service ever. We had to tell him to bring more chips, more salsa, more drinks, and when we were ready to order our dinners, when we were ready for our checks, he was just awful. He never asked us if everything was okay. From what we could tell as a group he only had 2 tables. Absolute worst service we have ever had in a restaurant of any kind. We stayed down the street from this place. And had to pick a spot were we could walk to. So the coworkers chose this spot. To start, the chips are like any other mexican youve probably been to. The salsa was probably the worst Ive eve had in my life(and Ive been to a lot of Mexican restaurants). Salsa was too watered down and taste like they mix maybe cholula in it. Not really good. Regular margarita,is nothing special, watered down too, but what do you expect for $6 on a 28oz. I chose the Bistec a la mexicana, meet was jst chopped up with onion and and jalapeńos. In my opinion has too much oil. I didn't really enjoy it, The bean we pretty ok, now the tice was really good in my opinion, ( you dont find that too much at mexi restaurants) My co workiers chose the fajitas, they said they did not like em either. This is a decent Mexican place in Columbus. The wait was no existent buy that might have been based on when we got there (after 8 pm on a Monday). We were immediately shown to a table and our waitress was right over. She didn't have any issues with the fact that we only ordered water. The menu had lots of different options to select from. You could pick anything that you wanted that fit the Mexican palate. The down mark in stars comes from the fact that while the salsa that was brought to the table was plentiful it was also very very mild. There was no options on the table to make it spicier. We had to ask for spicy salsa. The spicy salsa was good just that it was all peppers. The best mix in my mind would be adding some of the very very mild to it to balance it out. My food came out hot. It was exactly what i6 said it was. And that was fajita chicken nachoes. Our waitress made the suggestion of getting a side of sour cream and one of guacamole. I'm so glad that I did because they helped round out the nachoes. The guacamole was made from scratch or at least it tasted like it was. It was all avocados with no extras added including any seasoning. It mixed with the spicy salsa made the nachoes great. With the spur cream as just an extra bonus. Our waitress made sure all of our eaters stayed full and she was attentive without being overall attentive. This is somewhere that I will be back to the next time I'm on travel to Ft. I come here all the time and never have any big issues. I went today and they gave me my quesadilla with no cheese. I order the same thing every time. Then, our waiter never came back to ask how it was. Please keep in mind we went when it was NOT busy at all!! He had maybe 2 other tables. It took him a very long time to give my boyfriend a refill, my boyfriend finished his drink about halfway through his meal and the waiter never brought a refill until after my boyfriend had already finished his food. The waiter never asked me about my food until he finally brought the check and only asked if I wanted a to go box. At this point I was already too upset to even bother asking for a quesadilla that actually had cheese so I just said no and left. Looks like it's time to find a New Mexican place :( read more

Drinks- the sangria margaritas would've been better if they had an offered a sweet, red versus dry red wine. The blue margarita was very very good. Just had a lot of ice also had icy waters with lemon, which tasted very refreshing and clean. Appetizers was full size guac, and full-size queso extremely small portions for the eight dollars a piece they charge the case I was very runny as well but both had a good flavor. The salsa was very good. It was just missing some salt and a lot of heat for my preference. The burrito California was good however dry the steak inside was tender and cooked very well and had flavor the feeling was good and proportion it to the size of the burrito. However, the burrito needs sauce or covered with queso because of it being so dry inside. The flauta was arguably tone of the best things on the plate as well as the Chile Riano. The chili rhino was just smaller in size however, good proportions of filling too Chile. The server overall was decent. He was funny however question when we ordered rice and beans making us feel comfortable by saying "really more food they are huge plates" like yes really maybe include RB in the plates so people don't get up charged for them? The rice was a little undercooked, but made it good. The beans tasted authentic as well. Restaurant was clean, overall given the fact it was extremely busy when we went. I would recommend having a register behind the bar because the bar is busy as well as mean dining, and only the registers in the dining area made it difficult for the bar backs to check people out. I loved the food it was good but meat is dry. It's very loud and took almost an hour to get my food. What made it worse is I went to the bathroom and the whole Toilet was covered in poop which was bad. Margaritas were good! I ordered the Chimichanga with chicken and basically it was a tortilla with chicken in it, deep fried with nothing else and not much flavor to it except for peppering the chicken. There was lettuce, sour cream, guacamole and tomatoes on top of the fried tortilla, beans and rice on the side. The chimichanga was kind of gross. I took it home so as not to offend the in-laws that took me there but I didn't eat it later. Only gave three stars for the margarita, food was yucky! read more

This was recommended. The parking lot was full. I thought must be something good. Nope. I ordered the steak fajitas. The meat had not been marinated in anything much less Latin spices. There was a large portion but I could barely chew any of it. I saw some black pepper on it as far as any spice. The rice tasted like plain white rice although it had a faded orange color. The beans were tolerable. The guacamole was not seasoned with anything but too much salt. The flour tortillas were dried out. The salsa was plain tomato sauce. No heat or spice. The chips were ok. Where's the lime, cilantro, cumin etc. I complained and they gave me a 10% discount. The server was tipped because the awful food was not his fault. I work in the area periodically and this was the third Mexican restaurant I've tried in Columbus GA that does not know how to cook Mexican food with the big bold and spicy flavor it's supposed to have. Ok, the food was delicious! The salsa could have had more cilantro, but that's really the only complaint about the salsa. The chips were warm and crispy! Not too salty either. I ordered the chicken chimichanga, and my husband ordered the enchilada dinner (chicken and cheese). Food wise, everything was really delicious! The wait staff was awesome - when he remembered us; but I don't fault him. He had one table that literally had 30+ people, plus two or three other tables. My meal came out with sour cream - I asked for no sour cream (I can't have it). It took me a solid 5-10mins to get *anyone's* attention. I had my husband go ahead and start eating. When the waiter came over, he apologized, and you can tell he felt bad. Again, he was awesome, just spread really thin. We waited a hot minute to get the check - to the point that I got up to head to the front counter to pay the bill without that check in hand. We still had a 3hr drive home, and we wanted to leave. My parents live in Columbus, we frequent Columbus quite a bit during the year, and I just don't know if we'll be back. The chimichanga was soggy and the chicken had no flavor it tasted like the white meat chicken that comes in a can. They forgot my wife's tortillas and when she called to ask about them they told her she was a liar and that they packed them. When I picked up the food my sons taco fell out and luckily the lady behind me noticed otherwise we would be missing that too. Not worth the price, or even half of it. I would definitely give this place a four stars. The food is great and tasty. For us vegetarians out there trying to salvage the animals, we have excellent tasty options here. I got the vegetarian fajitas and they were crazy good. Most places I go they don't really season the vegetables and will sometimes give you just peppers. But here you sautéed onions, tomato's, green peppers, spinach, and mushrooms and they are cooked and seasoned beautifully. I was pleasantly surprised at how good they made their non-meat options. Also their boiled beans are amazing as well. Only thing that stopped me from 5 stars was the actual venue. It wasn't that appealing, but also not enough to keep me from coming back. read more
