I met some coworkers for dinner this past Friday. Was my first time at the Farmington location. Horrible service. Our server took forever to even ask our drink order. Felt like forever had passed, never checked on us. Someone else brought our food out, which is the norm, but he never returned. He went to other tables, ran food for coworkers, but avoided us and another table like the plague. I went to the POS system where there was a long line of servers waiting to put in their orders. I had my empty cup & not a single person asked to help. I will now return the favor & avoid this restaurant like the plague. If you do want El Tap, go to the Desloge location. read more

I love coming home to MO and getting to eat at the patio. Food was scrumptious. The teen had fajitas with chorizo (first time) on top and loved it. I cant remember the name of my dish but had fajita style chicken & steak, grilled veggies with rice and a side of salad. My friend had Tacos that looked excellent. Everything was served with presentation. Not floating in grease or watery. Cheese dip was good too. Y'all the chimicheesecake was AmAzEbAlLs!!! My fiance and I live in St. Louis but were in town yesterday to get some engagement photos done at a local fair. My best friend lives down there and suggested we all meet up here (her favorite) for a late lunch. Upon entry staff was super nice and attentive (my friend was running about 30 mins late) and they did not rush us. We kicked back and had a 23oz draft beer for $3.99 while we waited, that would've been upwards of $12 in the city! The restaurant looked super new and clean, and had a huge parking lot (lack of parking in the city makes me super appreciative of this, haha). We ordered the shrimp Baja tacos to share, which were out of this world! The Baja sauce was ridiculously delicious! It was topped with a mango salsa and red cabbage. I love when I go somewhere that also has a healthier option (I'm an avid calorie counter) and this worked out perfectly for us. The beans that came with it were not the gross paste most Mexican restaurants try to pass off as authentic, they were legit soaked whole black beans. Totally fantastic. Five stars for great service, unbeatable prices and fantastic food. We will be back! read more

Ok we've tried this great location four times. This will be the last. 1). it's noisy and usually crowded (great location). 2). The salsa is probably from a can. 3). They were understaffed. 20 minutes to get our order a. Drinks ran dry twice - never offered water b. Never offered more chips OR salsa c. 25 minutes from the time we finished our meal to the time we got our waiters attention to get our check. d. Extra long time checking out just to get a receipt because I paid cash. In a nutshell: Decent prices, clean restaurant, HORRIBLE service and sub-par food that isn't worth going out for. We decided to go on Tuesday, June 27th. The restaurant was clean and we were seated quickly, but things went downhill from there. Our waiter was so inept that we wondered if this was a first job that he just didn't care about, or if it was possibly too difficult for him. When he first came to our table he welcomed us--and then said NOTHING. He just stared at us blankly. It was super awkward. So we offered up what we'd like to drink--and he was gone before we finished talking! When he finally brought our drinks we asked for just another moment on the meals since it our first time there. He said 'Ohhh, okay' and did that silent staring thing again, and WAITED there. It was so uncomfortable. My husband basically knew what he wanted and I was the hold up, so I just let him order and decided just to inquire about a couple items just to get it over with so he'd stop gawking. I informed him that I have an aversion to spicy things and, after he said they couldn't do any special orders with the meat in regards to not cooking them with peppers, I just ordered a couple ala carte plain bean and cheese burritos and some bean and cheese dip for the chips. A different server brought the QUESO bean dip--which it did not specify would be queso on the menu--so I couldn't have any, and then only a few minutes later a different server brought our food...and mine was, again, covered in queso. I waited ten minutes for the server to come back, finally waving him down when he came to a table NEXT to ours, and asked him to please correct my order. I then had to spend the next five minutes attempting to explain, without sounding condescending, how 'queso' is spicy, because he works in a Mexican Restaurant and has no idea what words indicate whether something is spicy or not. He defended this by saying "But when you said you wanted cheese, I assumed that meant queso". ....Really? Part of your job is to ASK what kind if you're not sure, not to assume even after someone tells you they have a dietary restriction. So he leaves and a while later a server drops off my correct food...just as my husband is finishing his food, which he said was watery, flavorless, and NOT authentic tasting Mexican cuisine. My tortillas were thin and sad, the shredded cheese was sparse and the refried beans tasted like they were fresh from the can. My husband decided to get dessert and a drink refill, which didn't happen until I finished my food because our waiter did his best to come nowhere near us. It took 10 minutes for him to bring the drink refill--he didn't offer me one or bring me one--which was so watered we knew he'd filled it and let it sit that whole time while he did God knows what.. Another 5 minutes later a server dropped off the dessert. My husband ordered the fried ice cream, which was larger than we thought it would be--and he said it was really good. So one good thing came of all of it. And then our check was dropped...and it was about fifteen dollars HIGHER than it should have been! When I looked at the itemized list, they charged us for an extra drink and had completely different food items listed! When we went to pay I spoke to the lady up front, who seemed irritated at our server. She seemed to think better of whatever she was going to say, but it gave us both the impression that he seemed to screw up constantly and it wasn't just our nerves that were grated. She left and got him to speak with us and, when they returned, he looked carefully at our bill and then asked me what was wrong with our ticket. ...Aside from almost everything on it being wrong? And, of course, I had to explain this, too. Then he was confused again and excused himself for a second and was gone another ten minutes. Meanwhile, other guests were paying and a few others came to complain about their bills being wrong. When he finally came back, he chipperly said some things were incorrectly on our bill and he'd be glad to pay the difference from his own pocket because "It's just easier than fixing it". To make sure I heard him right, I repeated it. "So you're telling me that you messed up on our bill, but because it'll be too inconvenient to fix it, you'll pay the difference?" It made no sense. When I questioned this logic, he finally admitted that he gave a OUR bill to a different table and THIS bill belonged to someone else, which was why it was so different and higher, but he'd be happy to pay the difference so we just had to pay what our original bill was---as if this was out of the goodness of his heart. I sure wasn't going pay the difference! Then he LAUGHED, giddily chiding about not knowing queso was spicy and how badly our first time at their restaurant had been.. No tip for him, and we're definitely NEVER going back. read more

We were in town for my stepsons first basketball game. After the game we all went out for lunch. I can't brag about this place enough. The food was delicious. I had the burrito fajita and guacamole both were superb! Another guest had cheesesteak tacos that looked sooo yummy. And the service was outstanding. I am a breast feeding mother to my one month old son. I had brought him a bottle of my mIlk to skip the hassle and dirty looks of nursing in public. My son was hungry mid lunch so I headed to the bathroom to try and warm his bottle under running water from the sink. But I was stopped on my way and the nice employees offered me a microwave. (Even though you can't heat breast milk in a microwave) then offered me some hot water to use as a water bath to heat my sons bottle at our table. I was so blown away because it's very rare any place offers this kind of service. I'd give 10 stars if I could !!!! read more

Service was OK, food came out in a timely manner. We asked for the green salsa when we first sat down and did not get it until about 3 minutes before our food came out. We had already gone through 2 baskets of chips and salsa. They weren't busy and We were a party of two.. We had to ask a different server for napkins, refills, tortillas, to go boxes and the check because our server was no where to be found. The food didn't taste bad but also wasn't very good. Very bland fajitas and my friend got some cheese stuffed fried pepper (forgive me I forgot what it's called) and she said it was lacking in flavor and was also very thin. The top shelf margaritas we got were awful, whoever was making drinks this afternoon didn't know how to make them. Used way too much mix we had to douse it with limes and add water to them.
