Lived in galion almost 3 -years and finally went here to (el tarasco mexican ) restaurant and extremely disappointed . Started out friendly then chips and salsa came and then food shortly after and was burned and hard as a rock . I even showed the server and she said it's only on the edges and inside was fine and had a chance to fix the problem then and even said is this normal and she said nothing to worry about and just passed it off on me and my wife . I almost choked to death 3 minutes later and was dried out hard chicken in my food and rock hard burnt inside and out and was not flavorful or worth the money and was absolutely freezing cold in there and could not wait to leave . The whole experience sucked . And I always leave a nice tip but they knew what they were doing . I would not recommend this restaurant and will never go there again . read more

Thought I would give them another chance. Shouldn't have. Took my son for lunch. Taco Bell has more flavor than this place. Took one bite of my taco, rice, and chili rellano. That was it. Son had cheese enchiladas and cheese wasn't melted. Horrible. Can't wait until MiCerritos opens. read more

The food was the best I have had from this spot. Everything tasted very fresh. The only reason I gave four stars instead of five is because the amount of time we sat waiting to place drink orders. This rating is not based on just one visit. Over the past year I have made 3 online orders, one delivered and two pick up. I have visited the restaurant 3 times in person. To note this is the only Mexican attempted restaurant in the small town of galion. Food is commonly old and not fresh unless the dining room is busy. It is mediocre at best and this will be my last visit there. Deliver order arrived smashed, food seeping from bay, sauce cup crushed just a train wreck. I called to complain and their answer was it was fine when it left. Last night the food picked up was short in quantity. Regular bland in taste and not held down all night. The chips were the bottom broken pieces and for a large bag of chips, there were only a hand full of full size chips. The limes were so old that when you squeezed the half of lime absolutely nothing came out. This is not an over exaggeration. No need to, just for examples of quality. Mexican tacos had bone fragments and got annoying to eat the tough pieces. Management doesn't back up their product and since they are the only ones in Galion, you get what you get. First time I've ever been to this restaurant and was not impressed at all. Service was not bad from our waitress but after she took our order we didn't to see her again. Our server came out with our food within 5 minutes of ordering which to me is never a good sign. Our food was pretty plain to say the least. I had the 5 enchiladas which weren't terrible but hurriedly made and the enchilada sauce tasted like it was canned. The Chile relleno is another story, it was a Mound of hamburger with one small piece of chili in it and covered in cheese sauce? Definitely will not be back. There are a number of really good Mexican restaurants out there and this was the worst I have ever been to. Not sure I even seen anyone except the waitress smile. One woman ,owner maybe?, sat in the dining room are talking on the phone and servers must not be allowed to smile not a good experience. read more

Horrible.. food and service is horrible. Where to start... first off if you know what real Mexican food is don't come here it's tasteless. Their "salsa" is tomato purée essentially and when I asked if they had anything spicy he brought a small sample of "hot sauce " which wasn't good and then when I got the bill he had charged us $1.50 for the nasty "hot sauce".. not mentioning once that he was charging us. Then the manager up front just looked at me like I was dumb because I didn't know they charged for it. She was no help at all. This is not the first time I've been overcharged or deceived here but it is my LAST time trying it. Drive to Ontario and have Ponchos Tacos they are the real deal. read more

Coming from Chicago and visiting a small town in the middle of Ohio, I came to this restaurant was skepticism. There are plenty of bad Mexican restaurants in towns like this that serve bland versions of the food I love. This was a pleasant surprise on my first visit. I tried the deep fried Tex-Mex dish Chimichanga and found it crispy and tasty. Service was not especially good. The man taking my order seemed like he was still learning what to do. But I will be back. I'll try other dishes and see if they continue to surprise. read more

Oye amigos, bienvenidos a El Tarasco! I rather enjoyed this one, as I spent a few years in Latin America and remember it fondly. The staff is hispanic, and speak adequate spanglish for those of us so inclined. One of my colleagues is from Venezuela, the other Louisiana, that they're both understood is a testament to the language skills of the staff. Standard entrance with warm chips and salsa. Tasty! We're always on our 2nd bowl by the time our food arrives. The salsa is mild, but has nice flavors and is more than just tomatos, it's a nice compliment to the warm, crispy tortilla chips. The menu has a very nice selection of mexican combos, with tacos, enchilladas, burritos, etc... in various mixes and styles. My friends usually order a standard platter, but you know me, I have to adventure! So I can happily tell you the Juevos Rancheros con Churrizo is excellent! They make a decent meaty soup to accompany, but the tortillas are soft and warm, and their guac is creamy and tasty, nicely filling in with many of the main items, like the Pollo Loco, which isn't really too crazy, more of a slightly eccentric chicken. It's too easy to overeat here, the food value is excellent and the portions are fine, if a little more than some diners should have, lol. Like other nearby establishments, if you're in Galion looking for lunch, say hola to the staff and get your grub on. read more

When I entered the restaurant to pick up my order, it sat on the counter, right in front of 3 other customers, waiting to pay their bills. Who knows how many others my order was exposed to. El Tarasco is our family favorite. We don't get to eat out often due to family size but when we do we come here. My favorite off the menu is the Tarasco fajitas and pretty much get that every time. Although I have yet to have a bad meal here. Wait staff is excellent and love trying to talk to the staff in my broken high school lovely Spanish.
