This restaurant is cute. There are lots of instagrammable decorations that are worth taking photos of/with if you are into that. I came with my husband and we were seated right next to the windows so we could see the folks walking downtown. There were a lot of people dining here on a Saturday night. The salsa that comes with the complimentary chips is SPICY! The food was really good. I ordered the chicken chipotle (also SPICY) and my hubs had carne asada tacos.

Been here a few times over the years... not a bad place, but also not somewhere I really go outta my way for. Most of the times I end up here it's cause someone else suggested it and I just tag along. It's not that I dislike it--it's more just... I dunno... personal taste maybe? Restaurant is actually pretty clean inside. I don't remember the bathrooms bein bad, so that's probly a good sign. If they were gross it'd stick in my head for sure. There's this big fake tree in the middle of the dining area, all lit up with little lights--kinda gives the place a nice warm vibe. I'll give em credit for atmosphere, they nailed that part. Service has always been decent. Staff greets you when you walk in, checks in without being too pushy, and they usually get the food out in a fair amount of time. So no issues there... As for the food... it's okay. Nothin really blew me away, but nothin was terrible either. I've had a few dishes, tacos, enchiladas, even tried some of the seafood once. It all tasted fine, just not super memorable for me. Again... that's probly just my own taste buds bein picky. If I had to give a straight up yes or no on whether I'd recommend it... I'd say it's a solid maybe. Not gonna beg people to check it out, but if someone said "Hey let's go to El Tarasco," I wouldn't argue either. It's right in downtown Hanford on 7th street, and they've been around for a long time, so they must be doin something right. Just don't expect your socks to be knocked off.

This was such an amazing restaurant and I would've taken more photos if my Internet wasn't so shotty in Hanford. I was in town for my nieces high school musical and we went to eat at this restaurant after. The service was fast. The employees were friendly and the food was delicious. The restaurant was clean. The bathrooms were not only cleanly but really cute as well. We were here in the month of March and the tree they had up by the bar was decorated in green lights to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. The prices were reasonable and I would definitely come back again.

Always delicious and always have great margaritas with enough alcohol to feel something. The service is awesome. The ambience could be a little loud in one section, but there is another area where it is quiet. I highly recommend El Tarasco. I could go on and on and on about this place, but I choose to leave you with one last word - GO!

Always delicious food and quick n friendly service!! Chips were warm when they were brought to the table too!

Clean restaurant,Great atmosphere but please don't get the guacamole ... it's so small and for the price is not worth it .. I definitely felt robbed

Cute downtown restaurant. Food was good; salsa had a lightly smoky, spicy flavor, and enchilada tortillas seemed to have absorbed a mildly saucy flavor. The beans were good, and rice was light and fluffy. Overall, though, a good choice. I took away one point because service was good but a little slow and because prices were on the high side for the central valley - $21.99 for shrimp enchiladas with rice and beans.

This local spot recently got a facelift on the inside and I gotta say while I loved the old charm of this place compared to the remodel, the food is still delicious. Service is great and friendly. Favorite Mexican spot in town.

Today I had shrimp tacos with beans and rice! They were delicious!

Being a regular at any great restaurant has its advantages for both the restaurant and the customer. Being a regular at a restaurant enables one to know when something is off and it's probably just a bad day. For whatever reason. So hearing from a customer when something is wrong is better than hearing it from someone that rarely comes to eat there and might never come back because of a bad experience. For me personally. El Tarasco flat out has the best Mexican food in town. I've seen criticism on other platforms about different things. From service to the food. I myself have had experiences with pretty bad service while eating here. But El Tarasco always seems to get it together. I've been pretty hard on them in some of reviews. Some of it was well deserved. I have even stayed away and taken my business elsewhere for a while. But I always come back to see how things are and they usually step up. So today after a long drive we came in for lunch and our server was Alma. She has been our server many times and really is the best. She knows what you like to drink and remembers who you are. I find that to be an amazing thing these days. She also knows when she hasn't seen you in a while. She's very nice and is an example of how a server should be. My wife had the chili verde plate and I had the shrimp tacos. Both come with rice and beans. For drinks the wife had a cucumber margarita and I had a large mug of Modelo. The food as I always say was amazing! This is why we keep coming back and being regular customers.

We returned after about 4 years from trying El Tarasco. We waited about 15 mins to be seated for dinner which is not bad. We chose to sit on the bar side which was very nice and clean. I do think they could use a couple more TV's given it's the bar area. Our server was nice and attentive. I ordered the trio fajitas (chicken, shrimp, steak) with a side of house made corn tortillas which were very good. My only complaint was don't serve unpeeled shrimp in your trio! I've never had fajitas that way. Tip: add some more flavor to the meat. Other than that it was good but nothing to rave about.

THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS! Ask for the super hot salsa. Service was on point! I had the combo fajitas and my son had the beef ribeye.

Food was not equal to the price. $14 for a plain burrito is crazy. Plus servers seem to hate their job.

The atmosphere is a bit busy so I got my food in approx. 10 - 15 min. TACOS :: AL PASTOR TACO : The al pastor is a must try. It's nicely seasoned with lots of flavor, which makes the meats very flavorful. The seasoning taste like lots of sweet grilled onions stir fry with tomato, garlic, and cilantro. The meat is a bit warm and a little bit less juicy/nearly almost dry. It still taste pretty good. ASADA TACO : The asada seasoning is just basic salt. Nothing special. Same thing here, the meat is warm and a less juicy/near to almost dry. It still taste good though. RED SAUCE : I ask for everything on my tacos so they gave me red sauce on top. The sauce is very thick tomatoey. There's a little kick to the spice. Nothing special about the sauce. The best way to expain it is just a little kick of spicyness with very thick tomatoey sauce. It seems like they put less water on their sauce. OVERALL : I think their food is ok. It's not a 'wow and I would come back everyday.' Probably I would come back for their cheap and affordable food. Im looking for something fresh, hot and juicy with unique flavors. Not going to gatekeep this though, their al pastor seasoning is pretty unique and taste pretty good. Still, I do recommend it for a try.
