Pay attention to the owners. If you don't have people trained for customer service, I know you do a lot of business but dollar, dollar counts. When you see something named after the place and slightly pricier than similar items, go for it. Crammed with carne enchilada, avocado, beans and cheese, this is an impressive sandwich that left me with no regret that I didn't choose the enticing tacos such as pork leg. Have been coming here for years and I'm a huge fan! The tacos are very authentic and the prices are amazing! I always get the three taco combo with chorizo, and chicken. Portions are great too. We always have leftovers to take home. I definitely recommend the chips and guac as an appetizer, its always fresh with just enough spices! and again the portions are so generous we always have leftovers even with the guac! I called for a order to pick up, when I got to the restaurant I asked to see the menu and calculate how much I owe I was handed a menu with some prices written with a sharpie other did not have the price when I asked lady took a sharpie and put the price for example quesadillas were $9 per order she took the sharpie and price it at $15 I had placed the same order before didn't pay more than $40 she was charging me $ 59 ... There are multuple taco places in the area but this one is the best. They have a few locations but I go to the one on Bergenline. If you want truly authentic tacos with fresh homemade tortillas (is there any other way?), then this is your joint. They have various types to try, even tripe for the more adventurous. El pastor is my favorite. There are also multiple sauces to add. Some are very hot which I love. I haven't tried anything other then tacos, but I am looking forward to exploring more of the menu. Customer service is average, and they don't serve beer. Those are the only to cons. read more

The low down.... $7 steak tacos(4) yes please! Banging guacamole! Ok chips served with spicy salsa... yum and municipal parking lot is half a block away. I love the steak tacos here. They remind me of a taco truck on the streets of LA! The restaurant is no frills peeps. Get in, enjoy the tacos and bounce. It's located on bergenline, so street parking is non existent. Luckily theres a municipal parking lot between 51st and 52nd street, so go there to avoid a ticket. I'm going to go back to try some other dishes and other taco options..... beef tongue is calling me. The guacamole is fresh, creamy and chunky - so order up one of those too. Very tasty food. Got chorizo tacos and al pastor. I think al pastor was better. Adding the table salt and salsas made it very good.

At one point in time this was the most legit and authentic Mexican spot there was. I truly loved it with all my heart. But like most places they bought a second or third spot. Started to grow and it's been losing its luster. This place made amazing authentic tacos and other things at one point. Made it with real corn tortillas, home made probably. Recently they changed to a more American tasting tortilla and that has completely changed the taste. Not for the better. The rest of their food that doesn't include their new tortilla is still very good. There horchata is ok It is annoying how beggars and bootleggers can come into the restaurant and try to sell you their latest mixtapes "Maybe if they where to put some of their homemade salsa on it they would actually be fire!!! The food was amazing, but the service was horrible! Most of the customers walked out because it took them over hour just to either get water or take there order down! I went with my husband and 3 kids mind you one of my kids is 1 years old she didn't bother asking me if I need a high chair for the kids. we had to wait over 1 just for her to take our order then waited over another 30 min for her to bring us chip and dip, and when our food finally came after another 1 1/2 hours it was cold!!! We returned and when the manger came with our food and he tells us sorry but like I said the food was amazing once we was done we waited 30 min just for her to get us the bill! It's was crazy! The place was full of natives so I got even more excited (thats how you usually know the food is good). When we received our food...it was the most bland food I've ever tasted in my life. When I looked around for some black pepper to try to add a little life back to my food..there was none...okay..no big deal..I decided to ask the waiter....they had no black pepper at all in the restaurant...just salt. Maybe I should have just stuck to the steak tacos that I see everyone raving about, but I cant imagine that if my chicken wasn't seasoned..what the hell would my steak taste like? All had great flavor but the meats were kinda dry, except for the chorizo. This can have a quick fix by adding any of the complimentary salsas. 4 tacos were 9 dollars, which is average for the area, but a great price nonetheless compared to the city! Chips and three types of salsa are complimentary! It comes with an onion and long pepper that are smokey and charred with great flavor that make the meal! We have been coming here for years and this time the service was absolutely terrible. The food took an eternity and the customer service is horrible. Two of us are vegetarian and we specifically asked for no Ham or meat and they put the ham in and when we asked for a new one all they did was pick it out. Woke up hungry for some tacos, and you know what made it more awesome is today is Tuesday! Lol....doing a little Yelp searching stumbled upon this awesome place ...when I arrived was right when they opened, usually parking is horrible in the area on bergenline but since I went to get lunch early found a parking space right infront (lucky me!)...plenty of seating, and the lady handed me a menu as I seated myself where I wanted. Sooo, I went with the asada(steak) tacos...$8.50 for four tacos...portions were awesome, they didn't skimp on the beef...also received chips and salsa, and two other types of spicy sauce as I waited..fresh chips..yum! ...I pretty much dogged my tacos, so fresh, flavorful...got all messy, just the way I like it (just kidding) lol...with a Snapple everything came out to 11$... craving fulfilled here!
