The food is amazing here! While in this area I was craving tacos and I found this place with a quick search. I usually order take out therefore I call and my food is generally ready for pick up in 15-20 min. The area is a high traffic so it can be tough to find a parking spot for pick up or even dine in. So it requires a bit of patience before finding a parking spot. Once you are able to enter, they have many tables to dine in (limited now due to Covid and now a small outdoor eating area). The lighting is dimly lit and you will find a lot of traditional cultural decorations throughout the restaurant. They have a pick up area to get to go orders so it is efficient. I usually order the shrimp tacos, shrimp sopecito, elotes, and tres leches and I'm NEVER disappoint. The food is delicious! My only complaint is that the elotes are not always available for ordering per the staff. I hope that changes soon. I have done pick up and delivery from this place more times than I can count. When it comes to me wanting to each Mexican food in my own home, this is my first choice! I am so obsessed with their enchiladas I get them about 80% of the time, they are absolutely delicious! I also love how they cook their rice here and the side order of the crema they have. Their flautas have to be my second favorite, they are truly made perfectly along with a great tres leches for dessert. My husband enjoys their taco bowls and regular tacos. A gem! I mean the food is exceptional; the place is massive and don't get put off if you see it empty. Go in and try it. Had a pork taco and it was delicious and clean no silly dumb, unbearable add ons. Ordered delivery from this place and what a let down. I should've known better after seeing penne Alfredo on the menu. Ordered the enchilada verde, and hey I'm not Mexican but I know my Mexican food. The server and cashier isn't friendly with me from the moment I walk in. I don't have a Spanish accent. I asked what's in the taco bowl since it was no menu in front of me and and she stated "I don't know" the chef great guy, responds on her behalf to tell me. Cool. I'm now watching everyone be served chips and salsa after I asked for it. $6.95 for 3 tacos. We tried their fish tacos and cecina (salted beef) tacos. Both were good. The shells don't seem to be made in house and appeared to be flour tortillas rather than corn. I could be wrong but it didn't appear to be corn. It was good. The only hitch was that when we walked into the place the owner was standing right there staring at us and didn't greet us or anything. It was a full house and they were going to stick us in some back room broken tables. I wasn't feeling that. Especially when a large table was done and about to leave. I asked them to move me to the front of the restaurant and they obliged. That dingy dark backspace outside the bathroom should never have been a place for customers to dine. Instantly greeted by a nice staff upon walk in. They sat us down quickly and brought out chips and sauce. There's plenty of tables to sit at and a take out or online order station. I ordered horchata which was pretty good but a little watery. The drink was $3. In the picture is the birria tacos which came with 3 tacos with birria, cilantro, cheese, and onions with a cup of consommé. The dish came with a side of radishes and limes. Ordered delivery from their website. Delivery was on time and accurate. Conveniently only a $1 delivery fee when you order from their site (not Yelp). However, when you use a credit card to pay, the restaurant calls your number and asks you for your credit card information over the phone to make the charge. They need a better system. Also, the "suggested tips" listed on the receipt are highly inflated, so do your own math. Vegetarian tacos were overloaded with onions and otherwise did not have any flavor. For some reason the vegetarian burrito was not available on their website, or I would have gotten that. The guac tasted exactly like Chipotle guac (aka delicious)! Chips were nice and crunchy. My family came here for breakfast yesterday and we were not disappointed! So I'm going to preface this by saying that my mother-in-law makes the best champurrado and chilaquiles ever... but after eating at Sabor A Veracruz, I've found a close second to her's! The champurrado was perfect for a cold morning. It was warm and rich and not too sweet but just sweet enough. I like chilaquiles especially for breakfast but they're not usually my favorite food. But oh my gosh. These were AMAZING. The steak was so flavorful. The salsa verde was perfect. The chips were crispy and just dense enough that they held up. I was so impressed! My one and only complaint is that the egg I got with it didn't have runny yolk! I suppose I should have asked but normally with chilaquiles the egg has a runny yolk so I didn't think to ask... anyways! It was still amazing. The chips and salsa that we got to start with (even at 10AM!) were so good. They were some of the best restaurant chips I've ever had. Ordered takeout on UberEats new promotional launch, to try it out we decided to order from Sabor A Veracruz. Given that I ordered takeout, I can only comment on the food as we didn't visit the restaurant. - Food: I ordered the Pescado Tacos which come with three fish tacos and I added on Guacamole and Quaxaca Cheese for $1.50 each ($9.95 for taco order). The fish tacos were generally good, just wasn't a big fan of the way they preferred the fish, seemed a bit dry and not very well seasoned. Adding in the guacamole, cheese and salsa verde definitely helped. I also ordered a side of Rice and Beans ($3) and my co-workers ordered a side of Guacamole and Chips, both of which were absolutely delicious! The Guacamole was creamy, tasty and fresh. It's interesting that Sabor also serves Italian food, which two of my co-workers ordered. One got the Baked Ziti and said it was ok but nothing great. The other got a chicken sandwich with fries which he liked. Seems like Mexican is the way to go here. The prices seem very reasonable here with good portions and decent food. I wouldn't go out of my way to go here, but certainly would stop by if I was in the area. read more

When I first ordered from Sabor a Veracruz, I did not think I would receive as great of tacos from a half Mexican and half Italian restaurant, but boy was I wrong. The al pastor tacos from this restaurant are incredibly tasty. The meat is seasoned beautifully and it's juiciness really satisfies your palate. Something that is also very important for me when it comes to tacos is the quality of the soft shell. Their shells taste like fresh corn and there are two shells that hug the taco which makes it convenient and less messy. To top it off, there are slices of radishes and limes added for your taste. I've also had their flautas, enchiladas, and guacamole. The flautas are large and very filling. They are crispy and topped with avocado and crema which I love. For the guacamole you have the option to choose from two sizes (small or large). I usually order the small and am able to share it with 1 or 2 people as a side to enjoy while eating our entrees. The small is basically the size of Chipotle's side of guac. I'm not sure how big their large size is, but if you are sharing with more than 2 people, then I would suggest this size. I'm giving Sabor a Veracruz 4 out of 5 stars because although you can find tacos you truly love elsewhere, Sabor still delivers on quality and taste. read more

We ordered tacos de carne enchilada which were really salty that all you tasted was salt no seasoning. We also orders flautas and they were soggy, side note i did order delivery but i have ordered flautas for delivery in other places before and they do not come as soggy as these did. The avocado in the flautas were just sad i have added pictures. The steak quesadilla was okay not even good, oh the steak tostadas were packed on top of each other the whole thing was a hot mess, really wish i would have taken a picture. read more

Affordable, authentic, awesome Mexican cuisine. But I must confess... I always order the same thing, every time. Seriously. So take my review with a grain of salt. In this area there are a lot of Mexican restaurants and I mean a lot. And many are good, but if I'm in the area and I want tacos I come here. They have ahhhmazing tacos and I always get a side of chips and guac. Add a beer and I'm in heaven. Okay so here are the deets.. Tacos... soft, fresh, flour tortillas that are so full of meat, toppings and juicy goodness they break apart after the second bite. And in a good way... messy, fun, delicious finger licking good! And of course you pick the type... my favorite is al pastor. Chips... thick, crunchy, salty, and homemade. A small order is filling and addictive. Guac...creamy, chunky avocados, diced red onions, cilantro, a dash of salt and a hint of lime. Simply delicious. I love spicy and this doesn't have any, yet somehow I don't miss it at all. I contemplated writing this review because I am a selfish bastard and like keeping good things to myself but I do have a duty to the Yelp community and with my luck, if I didn't share this, the place would probably close down. Anyways, I don't need to say much. I've eaten at many taco places in northern NJ in search of the best taco and I think I've finally found it. Not only are their tacos delicious, but I actually prefer eating their sopecitos and empanadas. The meat quality and quantity is excellent! I also think their two sauces (salsas) are tasty and flavorful. I appreciate them cause they're not overwhelming spicy to the point I find my mouth on fire. In addition, the salsas also come with sour cream which I haven't seen other places do either. Oh yeah, it's BYOB too. EVERYTHING has been great. the food is cheap, and delivery is FAST. I can't wait to try their chilaquiles, but I'd have to eat in for that one. UPDATE: I had both the red chilaquiles and their green enchiladas (to go). The chilaquiles didn't have enough sauce, and I don't have anything to compare that red sauce to but it was ok. I am new to West New York so I have been looking to experiment. I have found my go to spot for Mexican! I ordered a few things with the notion I would taste a little of each and have leftovers for today. I have no leftovers... The al pastor tacos were absolutely delicious with only the squirt of lime. When I added the salsa, they got even better. A little messy but I like being able to go back after the taco is over with my fork and having a second round. The chips and guac - WHOA! Crunchy, salty, sturdy chips (that even taste good the morning after) and the flavors of the guac are perfection. It's just so balanced between the creaminess and acidity. I was surprised how much I liked the guac. My bonus buy... chicken burrito. I asked the waitress, what should I not miss (since they were out of empanadas) and she suggested this. She was RIGHT! The textures combined with the flavors (and that fantastic salsa) to make this the HOME RUN. The chicken was not boring at all - it packed an unexpected wallop of "sabor." Just great!
