The food was delicious and the drinks were so good that we ordered more at the end to go... The workers were super sweet and gave us free candies, treats, and tamarind straws for our drinks

Enchiladas verdes

Ordered delivery from this place and what a let down. I should've known better after seeing penne Alfredo on the menu. Ordered the enchilada verde, and hey I'm not Mexican but I know my Mexican food. The enchilada had ZERO tomatillo sauce, the cream was very sour and why really brought this whole meal to the trash was the tríeles chicken inside smh. This is supposed to be shredded chicken, not pieces of grilled chicken PLEASE DO BETTER. Can't comment on the service because this was a delivery order. The delivery time was pretty fast (I guess from the time they saved NOT making the chicken the right way lol. Gave I tel stars for their agua de sandia (watermelon juice) which it was tasty and 100% natural. The rice and beans were okay, nothing to go back to. I will not be ordering from this place ever again. There are lots of option in the area that would serve better food than this.

Food is so delicious!!! Beat food so far in the city of Jersey! Loving every bite! Bathrooms need a little upgrade, but it is so worth it!

The server is just rude.

I would love to give this restaurant more stars. However when you're being of service of any kind great customer service is always a first priority. I came in and ordered food, as I'm here now. The server and cashier isn't friendly with me from the moment I walk in. I don't have a Spanish accent. I asked what's in the taco bowl since it was no menu in front of me and and she stated "I don't know" the chef great guy, responds on her behalf to tell me. Cool. I'm now watching everyone be served chips and salsa after I asked for it. Super insulting I'm extremely nice and I'm alone dining not asking for anything special I ordered upon walking in and I seated myself shortly after with all I needed besides the chips and salsa. I'm still waiting for, I specifically love chips and salsa to accompany my Spanish meals.

Fish tacos.

$6.95 for 3 tacos. We tried their fish tacos and cecina (salted beef) tacos. Both were good. The shells don't seem to be made in house and appeared to be flour tortillas rather than corn. I could be wrong but it didn't appear to be corn. It was good. The only hitch was that when we walked into the place the owner was standing right there staring at us and didn't greet us or anything. It was a full house and they were going to stick us in some back room broken tables. I wasn't feeling that. Especially when a large table was done and about to leave. I asked them to move me to the front of the restaurant and they obliged. That dingy dark backspace outside the bathroom should never have been a place for customers to dine. Because of that drop off a star. We enjoyed the horchata and Jamaica juices. $2 each. I liked this place well enough but still prefer taqueria Mexicana a few blocks up.

My boyfriend took me here because I said I wanted tacos. Apparently he loves this place. I ordered the birria tacos and he got like some soup and rice thing. My food was okay overall. Our server was really nice. The atmosphere was cool too. We enjoyed our lil lunch date overall.

Tacos De Birria

Instantly greeted by a nice staff upon walk in. They sat us down quickly and brought out chips and sauce. There's plenty of tables to sit at and a take out or online order station. I ordered horchata which was pretty good but a little watery. The drink was $3. In the picture is the birria tacos which came with 3 tacos with birria, cilantro, cheese, and onions with a cup of consommé. The dish came with a side of radishes and limes. Everything tasted fresh the tacos were filling and tasted great. The birria was tender and juicy. The consommé was a little bland and salty but it was still a good dish costing $15.

vegetables rotting / wilting

I got some food yesterday. pork chops &&rice w a salad.. the salad was literally rotting && molding. Check your food before you leave the restaurant.

Steak chilaquiles. THEY WERE SO GOOD!

Shout out always to Will - manages this place with the utmost service and care for its customers. Food: 1. Huevos rancheros with chorizos 2. Crispy bird chicken sandwich The eggs and verde [green] sauce was fantastic. The chorizos were not salty or oily - just perfect. My wife loved her Burger. The restaurant has an interesting history. Even though the original opened in Cresskill, NJ, it unfortunately has permanently closed. However, not only is the Edgewater location amazing, but it had the guts to open during COVID (2022), survived, and is succeeding. The restaurant is beautiful inside and outside. Their decorations are tasteful, the presentation of the food is award winning, and the service is stellar. I started with a Mocha Cappuccino and it was so good. Served in a large mug, an airy/creamy top, and had the perfect amount of mocha happiness throughout. Before the meal even started, we were graciously given Za'atar (a popular Middle Eastern spice blend with an earthy, tangy, and nutty flavor, toasted sesame seeds, and sumac, with salt). It was crunchy, drizzled with oil, and I enjoyed how each thin pita bite made the spices explode all over the table. The entrees were: Strawberry French Toast. The next was the Falafel Platter (chickpeas and fava bean balls, served with tahini sauce, pickles, turnips, tomato, and mint). The last selection was the Avocado Toast (Citrus cured salmon over multigrain bread, tomatoes, onions, capers & citrus vinaigrette). Not only were all of these dishes beautifully presented, but all were filling, as well. My Avocado Toast kept me full for the rest of the day and the salmon was enjoyably salty, thin, and delicious. I noticed a dessert in their display case and ordered it. The dessert was the Riz Bil Ashta (Lebanese rice cream, infused with orange blossom water, blended with milk and cheese, and topped with crushed pistachios). This dessert tasted like a regal custard and the pistachios added an enjoyable texture that makes it recommended. Of course, I had to cap the meal with a Mocchiato. This amazing beverage followed the rest of the meal..... delicious, eyes closed good, and every sip was full-flavored. Thank you, Madison Café and Grill, for presenting a memorable meal and I wish you continued success.

The interior features a chic aesthetic with heavy rose gold accents that give it a high end feel (women will love this place). While the atmosphere is great, seating is limited so you should be prepared to wait for a spot especially if you visit on the weekend. I usually expect these Instagram or TikTok viral cafes to be all style and no substance but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the brew. I have visited three times now and the espresso is consistently excellent. Whoever is pulling the shots knows exactly what they are doing because the coffee is never burnt and tastes incredible even when ordered black as an espresso or Americano. On this visit I tried the Pistachio Latte with reduced sweetness and it was delicious. The pistachio flavor tasted authentic rather than synthetic and it melded perfectly with the coffee. My sister absolutely loved the Rose Matcha, which is the same drink my fiancee enjoyed on a previous visit. Even my mom was glowing about her Cappuccino which is a rare treat since she is notoriously hard to please. For our meal we ordered the Caprese Chicken Crepe and the Chipotle Chicken Melt. The crepe was a hit with my mom and sister and the portion size was just right. The Chipotle sandwich had great flavor though it was definitely on the greasy side. You will want a stack of napkins ready if you order it but it was still a solid sandwich overall. On a previous visit, we tried the Tres Leches which unfortunately did not live up to the rest of the experience. It tasted bland a bit like a boxed cake and I was not a fan, I might try the Tiramisu on my next trip instead. Despite the dessert miss the staff here is super friendly and sweet. They never make you feel rushed and take the time to explain the menu options thoroughly. If you're in the area and need a high quality cup of coffee Haute Dulce is a fantastic spot that will actually satisfy your expectations.

However, as I was leaving, I noticed a display of U.S. Presidents' photos. Most of the photos were neatly displayed, including President Trump and other presidents, but President Obama's photo appeared noticeably different and was not displayed in the same manner as the others. Whether intentional or not, the presentation stood out to me and left me feeling uncomfortable. I believe businesses should strive to present historical and political figures consistently and respectfully. Unfortunately, this observation detracted from an otherwise positive dining experience.
