Tacos: pastor on the right, steak kind of hidden on the left

Driving north on 23 super bright flashing lights caught my eye. First I thought it was the police but to my surprise, it was a food truck. I quickly looked it up and got super excited because it was a taco truck, so naturally I had to go. El Tuzo is located in the parking lot of the D1 training building on 23 it's kind of easy to miss which would explain the lights. When we got there, no line no wait. The menu was posted on the front and he had a few additional signs on the windows. Continuing my search for the best asada taco in Columbus I ordered 2 asada tacos $2.50 each and 2 pastor $2.00 each. We also got chips and salsa and horchata. The guy was super nice and quick, we sat in the car as he prepared everything. Once home, we dove in. The horchata was delicious, one of the best I've tasted and I don't even really like the stuff. The chips and salsa came with two diff salsas, a red one that was hot and a green one that reminded me of a guac/pico mixture. Both salsas were delicious. Now for the tacos, they were corn tortilla topped with cilantro and onions as well as grilled jalapeño and onion. I definitely preferred the pastor over the asada. It was much more flavorful. The asada was just okay, it felt like it was missing something and kind of fell flat. Over all our meal was tasty and I would go back if I'm in the area.

I came across El Tuzo Taco Truck at today's Festival Latino. After walking back and forth deciding which food stand to indulge in, I finally decided on El Tuzo Taco. The combination of having Spanish speaking customers and also having "lengua" (tongue) on their menu made me believe this place was legit. The educated guess paid off and I had some of the most delicious tacos ever. I had two $2 tacos. One al pastor and the other a carnita taco. Wow, they were good. The meat was well-seasoned, the tortillas were fresh and double-wrapped which prevented the tacos from falling apart after each bite. The bountiful cilantro and onion toppings also added much flavor. The tacos were served with limes and a side of vinegared cucumbers which was a nice touch. They also had a homemade guacamole sauce which was delicious and a spicy pepper and onion condiment that gave it a nice kick. Finally, the customer service and friendliness of the staff at EL Tuzo Taco are amazing. They are seemingly a family-run business, with the children and adults working together to make it all work. One of the owners (I think) came out to greet us and made sure we enjoyed the food. El Tuzo Taco totally has my support! I'm a fan!

Tacos - lengua and al pastor - $2 each!

This is a taco food truck in the parking lot of the D1 Columbus Sports Training Building. Even though I work like 2 minutes away from here, it's tucked back a bit, so I've never seen it before. I was heading home from work, saw that another yelper had checked in, realized how close it was and HAD to stop by! I had lengua and al pastor tacos with onions and cilantro. These are street tacos so they're small, but they're also only $2 so, you can get several. The meat was tender and delicious. I love when meat has so much flavor that you don't even need sauce, and these tacos fit the bill. They come with big slices of sauteed onions and peppers that I hadn't had before on street tacos. Seeing as how this is right down the street from my job and street tacos give me LIFE I will absolutely be back!!

Great prices. Large enough portions for 2 to share. Love the mild green sauce. I don't normally like chorizo, but that's even good!

His English was not the best but he understood what we wanted. He gave us a sample of tea while we waited. It was a beautiful sunny day so we sat at one of the tables. The wait was around 10 minutes and well worth it. We took the food home to share with my husband. I loved how everything was so fresh and flavorful. It's so delicious and authentic. The chicken fried rice was not the Chinese version but an Indian version with all the Indian flavors. The chicken in our curry did have some bones but I really enjoyed all the spices and flavors. It's my new favorite food truck if I want something spicy and different. I will be back!

Bestie and I were blown away by the quality, freshness and flavors of our meal last night. If you're up for a culinary adventure, head up 23 to Sandy's; pull in just north of the motorcycle shop and BBQ cabin and drive around to the back. We tried the potato masala dosa - a huge crispy crepe bigger than your head and folded with tasty filling tucked inside. Also the dahi puri appetizer was flavorful and perfectly spiced. Our favorite was the Masala punugulu - little fried dough balls with spicy dipping sauces. To die for!

I ordered the two sandwiches platter which comes with 3 sides. I had the Brisket and Pulled Pork sandwiches. Each came with coleslaw on top. My 3 sides were baked beans, Mac N Cheese and Cowboy Corn. I'll start with the sandwiches. Totally surprised by both sandwiches, they both had nice and moist meat that was smoked perfectly. The coleslaw on top just added that perfect crunch to the sandwich. I used Bangin Bourbon on one and Homestyle which was tangy and sweet. Both had great flavor. On to the sides. The Mac n Cheese was made with a Rotini style noodle and was made with Colby, Cheddar and Jack cheese. It was super flavorful. And finally there was the Cowboy Corn which of course had corn, peppers red and green made with a super flavorful sauce. So Tasty!! Almost forgot a star in the menu, the Baked Beans, OMG!!!! These were TOTALLY homemade with so much flavor, could have 2-3 of these alone. You can find them on StreetFoodFinder.com or Facebook. Check them out!!!!

He made me a refreshing and flavorful Strawberry Basil Margarita in a mason jar, from the specialty drinks menu. I chose 3 tacos: Catfish Po'Boy, Kung Powell Shrimp, and Grilled Fish. I ate the Po'Boy first, which essentially ruined the other two for me because it was far better. I wanted to choke down two more Po'Boy tacos. Um, next time. I got an order of Avocado Salsa and Chips to go; I used to get this from the truck when I worked downtown and know how delicious it is. The place is about 20 minutes from my work, but it is worth the drive. Keep in mind the tacos are small for $3, but they are filled with quality ingredients. The space itself is funky and comfortable. When you enter, the takeout counter is clearly marked to order there, or to dine-in, proceed to the dining room which has several tables, as well as bar seating. I was the only person who dined in during my hour long visit, but someone came in to order takeout and I heard the takeout employee tell him he would bring it over shortly, then saw him walk the order over (I am assuming to a neighboring business). I recommend it if you are in the area for lunch or dinner.
