We were really excited to try this after reading the reviews, but it didn't quite hit the mark. Taco truck is easy to spot. Service was fast. We ordered 6 tacos, the price was super reasonable, and it took about 5 minutes. We only got the street tacos, so maybe we need to try something else next time. The chicken was a little tough with some crispy edges and not a ton of flavor. The green salsa tasted more avocado-based and came off a bit watery. We'd give it another try. read more

This was my second stop during Taco Fest. I ordered the street tacos because it was the only truck I saw that listed cucumbers as an ingredient. I was happy to see the line moved faster than other trucks because I was starving. I added the green sauce to the tacos, squirted some lime juice on them, then went to town. They were good! We stop in at least once per week and everything has always been perfect. The quality is 6 out of 5 stars and the taste is always consistent. We have never had a bad meal- as a matter of fact, it's so good, we dream of it. We have tried everything on the menu. Their machetes and sopes are our favorite but the chips and guacamole are to die for. I am telling you, not only is it delicious, but it is really healthy food. Driving north on 23 super bright flashing lights caught my eye. First I thought it was the police but to my surprise, it was a food truck. I quickly looked it up and got super excited because it was a taco truck, so naturally I had to go. El Tuzo is located in the parking lot of the D1 training building on 23 it's kind of easy to miss which would explain the lights. When we got there, no line no wait. The menu was posted on the front and he had a few additional signs on the windows. Continuing my search for the best asada taco in Columbus I ordered 2 asada tacos $2.50 each and 2 pastor $2.00 each. We also got chips and salsa and horchata. The guy was super nice and quick, we sat in the car as he prepared everything. Once home, we dove in. The horchata was delicious, one of the best I've tasted and I don't even really like the stuff. The chips and salsa came with two diff salsas, a red one that was hot and a green one that reminded me of a guac/pico mixture. Both salsas were delicious. Now for the tacos, they were corn tortilla topped with cilantro and onions as well as grilled jalapeño and onion. I definitely preferred the pastor over the asada. It was much more flavorful. The asada was just okay, it felt like it was missing something and kind of fell flat. Over all our meal was tasty and I would go back if I'm in the area. read more

I came across El Tuzo Taco Truck at today's Festival Latino. After walking back and forth deciding which food stand to indulge in, I finally decided on El Tuzo Taco. The combination of having Spanish speaking customers and also having "lengua" (tongue) on their menu made me believe this place was legit. The educated guess paid off and I had some of the most delicious tacos ever. I had two $2 tacos. One al pastor and the other a carnita taco. Wow, they were good. The meat was well-seasoned, the tortillas were fresh and double-wrapped which prevented the tacos from falling apart after each bite. The bountiful cilantro and onion toppings also added much flavor. The tacos were served with limes and a side of vinegared cucumbers which was a nice touch. They also had a homemade guacamole sauce which was delicious and a spicy pepper and onion condiment that gave it a nice kick. Finally, the customer service and friendliness of the staff at EL Tuzo Taco are amazing. They are seemingly a family-run business, with the children and adults working together to make it all work. One of the owners (I think) came out to greet us and made sure we enjoyed the food. El Tuzo Taco totally has my support! I'm a fan! read more

This is a taco food truck in the parking lot of the D1 Columbus Sports Training Building. Even though I work like 2 minutes away from here, it's tucked back a bit, so I've never seen it before. I was heading home from work, saw that another yelper had checked in, realized how close it was and HAD to stop by! I had lengua and al pastor tacos with onions and cilantro. These are street tacos so they're small, but they're also only $2 so, you can get several. The meat was tender and delicious. I love when meat has so much flavor that you don't even need sauce, and these tacos fit the bill. They come with big slices of sauteed onions and peppers that I hadn't had before on street tacos. Seeing as how this is right down the street from my job and street tacos give me LIFE I will absolutely be back!! read more

This truck is legit! Awesome tacos, fabulous burrito, and superb nachos!! The prices are good, too. The tacos are on the small side so buy several. It gives you an opportunity to try different meats anyway. We tried pork and chicken, American style, and both were very good. We got steak on the burrito, which was great, too. Overall I preferred the tacos. The nachos were tasty and had meat, cheese, sour cream, tomatoes, etc. There is only one table outside the truck but several people got food to go while we sat there and ate. After passing by this taco truck every day, I decided to give it a shot. If you're craving authentic Mexican tacos (Taco Bell does not count!!) then you need to try this place! The al pastor (pork) tacos are my favorite! The nachos are really good too. My husband and I get the smaller portion of nachos and it's plenty to share. I would ask for more cheese next time because I love cheesy nachos, but other than that, it's pretty solid. P.S. The truck has recently changed location to the parking lot by the D1 sports facility. Just went to this place for lunch upon rave Yelp reviews and suggestion from the wheel of lunch and I must say I unfortunately was completely unimpressed. The one star is because the food was prepared quickly and the price was ok. I got three tacos, two beef and one chicken. These were probably the least flavorful tacos i have ever eaten. The tortilla was bland and there was absolutely no seasoning whatsoever on the meat. The only flavor was from the salsa, which wasnt even enjoyable because it was way too spicy (which i wasnt made aware of). This has become my go to taco place in Columbus. Prices are great (usually spend $10 or less) for the quantity of food. The owners of the truck are always welcoming and friendly. As mentioned before, they have moved to the D1 parking lot (down the road from their previous location). Also they do take cards. I would recommend calling ahead if you have a big order, especially around lunch time. Generally it's about a 5-10 minute wait depending on how busy it is. read more

Finding this is worth the hunt. (9/2016) It is located in the front of the now closed liquor store. The parking lot is all torn up. But when you get there, you will love the quick service and delicious taste. My wife likes corn tortillas rather than flour. Don't trust the hours listed on Yelp. And when you call, the guy running the one man show might be too busy to answer. I'm from out of state and we were going to pick up food a second night in a row but they were closed Saturday in spite of hours listed as open. El Tuzo Taco is real Mexican food! I grew up in a Mexican community in Southern California, and when I would go to my friend's homes to eat, this is the kind of food we had. So much better than all these Midwest "Mexican restaurants". Today I had a burrito al pastor, and a tostada con pollo. They tasted awesome. The burritos are large, made with a 16 inch tortilla.
