Tacos: pastor on the right, steak kind of hidden on the left

Driving north on 23 super bright flashing lights caught my eye. First I thought it was the police but to my surprise, it was a food truck. I quickly looked it up and got super excited because it was a taco truck, so naturally I had to go. El Tuzo is located in the parking lot of the D1 training building on 23 it's kind of easy to miss which would explain the lights. When we got there, no line no wait. The menu was posted on the front and he had a few additional signs on the windows. Continuing my search for the best asada taco in Columbus I ordered 2 asada tacos $2.50 each and 2 pastor $2.00 each. We also got chips and salsa and horchata. The guy was super nice and quick, we sat in the car as he prepared everything. Once home, we dove in. The horchata was delicious, one of the best I've tasted and I don't even really like the stuff. The chips and salsa came with two diff salsas, a red one that was hot and a green one that reminded me of a guac/pico mixture. Both salsas were delicious. Now for the tacos, they were corn tortilla topped with cilantro and onions as well as grilled jalapeño and onion. I definitely preferred the pastor over the asada. It was much more flavorful. The asada was just okay, it felt like it was missing something and kind of fell flat. Over all our meal was tasty and I would go back if I'm in the area.

I came across El Tuzo Taco Truck at today's Festival Latino. After walking back and forth deciding which food stand to indulge in, I finally decided on El Tuzo Taco. The combination of having Spanish speaking customers and also having "lengua" (tongue) on their menu made me believe this place was legit. The educated guess paid off and I had some of the most delicious tacos ever. I had two $2 tacos. One al pastor and the other a carnita taco. Wow, they were good. The meat was well-seasoned, the tortillas were fresh and double-wrapped which prevented the tacos from falling apart after each bite. The bountiful cilantro and onion toppings also added much flavor. The tacos were served with limes and a side of vinegared cucumbers which was a nice touch. They also had a homemade guacamole sauce which was delicious and a spicy pepper and onion condiment that gave it a nice kick. Finally, the customer service and friendliness of the staff at EL Tuzo Taco are amazing. They are seemingly a family-run business, with the children and adults working together to make it all work. One of the owners (I think) came out to greet us and made sure we enjoyed the food. El Tuzo Taco totally has my support! I'm a fan!

Tacos - lengua and al pastor - $2 each!

This is a taco food truck in the parking lot of the D1 Columbus Sports Training Building. Even though I work like 2 minutes away from here, it's tucked back a bit, so I've never seen it before. I was heading home from work, saw that another yelper had checked in, realized how close it was and HAD to stop by! I had lengua and al pastor tacos with onions and cilantro. These are street tacos so they're small, but they're also only $2 so, you can get several. The meat was tender and delicious. I love when meat has so much flavor that you don't even need sauce, and these tacos fit the bill. They come with big slices of sauteed onions and peppers that I hadn't had before on street tacos. Seeing as how this is right down the street from my job and street tacos give me LIFE I will absolutely be back!!

This is the best place to go for authentic Mexican street food! It is delicious comfort food and one of my favorite places to grab a bite.

So quick and so yummy. The sandwiches and burritos are the way to go to get bang for your buck. Probably wouldn't get the churro again

This place possibly makes the best tacos in Columbus. Al Pastor and Chorizo tacos , burrito loco are good choices. Highly recommended.

Great prices. Large enough portions for 2 to share. Love the mild green sauce. I don't normally like chorizo, but that's even good!

The place was mostly empty at this time, but slowly filled as it approached dinner time, signifying it is popular in the area. I would say I enjoyed the visit overall. My margarita was tasty, the chips and salsa were great, and the queso was fantastic. The downside was the service. We told the waiter, who asked us immediately upon arrival if we wanted drinks, that we needed a few minutes to look things over. It took him 10-15 minutes to return to us to take drink orders, which was crazy considering the restaurant was empty. He also barely checked on us throughout the evening, as we had to signal to someone else that we were out of chips. Like I said, I would return here for food and drinks as they were great, but the slow and inattentive service would make me choosy with the times of day I would go and who I would go with.

My brother and I both ordered the shrimp taco dinner ($15.95) that came with a choice of side. The tacos were good but could have been much better as there was just way too much salsa. All we could taste was salsa and it was a little sweet and oddly enough, it had broccoli in it. If they added one more shrimp and cut back to just a tablespoon of salsa on each taco, they would have given it a much more balanced flavor and texture profile. This was a bunt, not a grand slam... El Vaqueros are all pretty much the same, and this one is no different. Could have been 4 stars but ended up as 3.

Clouds are threatening rain but the day is in the 70's and inside/outside patio doors are open. After a warm greating, we were seated and our favorite chips and salsa were delivered . We are off to a great start! The salsa is house made with chunks of tomato, onion, peppers sourced from New Mexico and other spices that come together perfectly. This is one of those things you want a day old - it gives the flavors a chance to deepen and is the best salsa EVER. Our son joined us for lunch (which was a treat for us). BUT he is deeply committed to their kid's Mac & Cheese. (SMH) and the chips and salsa. Dont blame us; he was raised better than that! Hubs and I ordered the Lunch Shredded Beef Burrito. (Our favorite meal at Chili Verde.). The beef is fork tender and so flavorable. Wrapped in a fresh tortilla and served with your choice of red or green sauce on top. We opted to use that awesome salsa to top our burtito tableside. Lunch burritos include one side. Rice and beans are the default options but I ordered the corn and hubs ordered the mashed potatoes. Dinner includes 2 sides and a larger burrito. The mashed potatoes are hand-mashed with a few chunks here and there and lightly spiced. These potatoes are a family favorite. The corn is whole kernals seasoned with onions and bacon and lightly sweetened. This is my all time go-to! Hubs also recommends the pinto beans. Served as a whole bean served in a little gravy/liquid; the side dish is peppery and yummy. The secret is out about this restaurant and it is always busy. I recommend making a reservation through open table before you visit. I posted pics of today's lunch including our empty plates that we easily could have licked clean!

We each had different dishes-- Green Chile Stew, Three Sisters (I asked for a combo of chorizo and beef and they said, "Of course!"), Sandia Sopapilla with shredded beef. All were excellent and were attractively plated-- it wouldn't have mattered, but it was those little extras that really elevated the experience. We were also given a bowl of their latest salsa to try-- sweet and mildly spicy watermelon! We are regulars here and always enjoy the food and the pleasant ambiance, but this brunch was truly exceptional. We ended our meal with a plate of puffy Sopapillas with honey to share. Delicious! **This is New Mexican and NM-inspired food, not the same as Mexican or Tex-Mex.** If you're not familiar with it, you may ask for samples of sauces and meats before you order! NM cuisine is less about piles of cheese and taco shells and more about the flavors of their regional peppers (which they fly in fresh here!). It's a blend of Mexican, Spanish and Pueblo Indigenous foods, not American-Mexican. And yes, you still get great chips & salsa, but you're going to want to pass on the refills to make room for the stars of the meal-- the e
