"BIRRIA" PLATE (Allegedly) My dining partner's dish. Just... wack. Dry beef, no flavor, confusing presentation. Also returned. Don Tequila in Powell is my favorite place to go for a frozen margarita, no frills. They taste great and feel strong. The have the regular and jumbo sizes then mini and full size pitchers. The food and service is good as well, I typically order the campechano tacos. We recently ordered their cheese dip and it was okay - very runny. I like the taste of their salsa. read more

Good stop for Mexican when you are in Powell area. Stopped in for a last minute bite and they were full. Lucked out for two seats at the bar and service was awesome. Oscar (Bartender) and the bar staff were magicians dealing with a packed house. Patron next to us and Oscar both recommended the Pollo Fundido. It was outstanding combo of chicken, veggies, and shrimp. Two jumbo house margaritas on the rocks and you have a nice dinner. Food was high quality (fresh) and tasted great. DT is nothing fancy but food, personalities and service was great. Look forward to going back. read more

Stopped here after all afternoon at the zoo. In the mood for a margarita and their jumbo margarita did not disappoint! We ordered the chorizo cheese appetizer and the trio (three seafoods, sorry can't remember the exact name) and everything was delicious and the service was excellent. My only "complaint" was I ordered a Mich ultra draft for hubby and instead got what we believe was a regular Michelob. We know this because he then ordered a short Mich Ultra and it was correct. But overall there break was wonderful, delicious and service was quick and friendly. Parking is ample and the prices are average. Stop in for a delicious Mexican meal. read more

So I found a roach in the table we were seated at which is gross we had ordered our drinks but we walked out because seeing that thing crawl on our table imagine the food know the place used to be tidy and clean good atmosphere and everything but that's gross the manage is a jerk we asked to speak to him and he never came sent the waiter instead to apologize. At this point the restaurant should be shut down not Bec of the waiters I feel like they try and go above and beyond but because of the manager he seems like he couldn't care less of what happens. And when you meet him he gives off such a bad attitude with everyone not just the customers. read more

Came craving Mexican food - and I heard they had good queso fundido. First off, they have no clue what I was asking for - I said "queso with chorizo" okay! The dude brought just queso. My date ordered Quesadilla Rellena. They brought her the quesadilla appetizer. I ordered Chori Pollo (chicken, pineapple, chorizo, queso) - this was DELICIOUS. So... I guess be VERY EXPLICIT with your order, and double check, since they have several variations of dishes with similar names. My dish was good, but the overall miscommunication made me less happy about choosing it for dinner. Maybe a second trip will help us figure out if it's a hiccup on a slow night, or if every night is like that. read more

First let me say, save yourself the time and $$ and go to Senior Antonio's in Lewis Center! Ordered my son a kids quesadilla, server asked if we wanted to add any meat- I said chicken. Quesadilla came without chicken I ordered my entree, although my meal stated it didn't come with any tomatoes, I advised to the server 'no tomato' just to be safe. Entree came with tomatoes all over the top of my burrito. My husband ordered a tall domestic beer on tap- $9.99. I ordered a corona light bottle- $6. After eating our meal, a side of guacamole arrived at our table to which I declined- we didn't order this?? But rest assured there was a $6 charge for this on our receipt when we cashed out. Service was SLOW and left a lot to be desired. I am actually disheartened to write this review as my husband and I have driven past this location multiple times over the years and have both kicked ourselves for not trying sooner! Didn't seem like the usual Don Tequila this evening. The restaurant was very busy. I think more folks have discovered it. Every table was booked and folks were actually waiting for a table. Great to see business doing well. Unfortunately, service and food were a bit disappointing tonight. Host and servers were friendly and welcoming, but definitely stretched due to being such a full house. They had plenty of staff on hand, too. While we had one lady who was our server, we had at least three different folks waiting on us. A different lady took our order because our server was busy. While the team was trying to wait on us, they were a bit out of sync and rushed. I ordered the Gran Fiesta Special. The dish is suppose to be shrimp, lobster and tilapia over a bed steamed vegetables, topped with cheese and tomatoes. I kept thinking there was something missing about the dish. Checked the menu afterwards and realized that there was no cheese or tomatoes on the dish like there had been in the past. In the past, there were nice filets of tilapia, but this time I had to actually search through the dish to see if there was any there - very tiny filets. My partner ordered a combo. Honestly, the enchilada looked burnt when it came out of the kitchen. It was suppose to be chicken enchilada. When we caught the attention of the server, we pointed out the mistake and they promptly provided a replacement. Honestly, (and I hope), the restaurant was just having an off night with their service and their kitchen and were not handling the high demand efficiently. Don't expect coupons for this restaurant to be honored, even if the date has not expired yet. The manager gave us a song and dance regarding how they basically haven't authorized the coupons to be printed, and they're trying to stop them, but he didn't adjust our bill accordingly. Food was disgusting, the tortillas for street tacos were drowned in oil. My plate was also swimming In oil, description said one thing and it came with something else. When I asked if I can get what the picture on my plate had / description said and I was told oh no that's just on the picture if you want that is extra when the items were clearly listed in the description of the dish. Not to mention no flavor all I tasted was the oils that were all over our plates. Service was a whole different level, server didn't know anything, I spoke Spanish she had a I don't understand Spanish face and tone, spoke English he couldn't answer me correctly, he made it to table maybe 3 times to order bring food and check. I expected a bit of flavor or good food as it was highly recommended and I had read reviews. I mean as Mexican I should have know a restaurant in Powell will not be anywhere near authentic. We came here on a whim When another restaurant was too packed to take us and we were not disappointed! The frozen strawberry margarita was one of the best i have had and the queso was one of my favorites as well! My husband thought the queso wasn't spicy enough for him, but i don't like a ton of spice. The restaurant itself is very pretty! I noticed the tables were all a stone (granite or something similar) and was well decorated. The plate presentation was superb, you can tell the chefs take pride in that....i mean my rice was in a perfect loaf! Additionally they have little stands for the hard tacos.....this doesn't seem like much but it makes a huge difference! I frequent all different Mexican restaurants and every time i get a hard taco it ends up getting soggy because it lays on the plate that is covered in red sauce, but not here! The portion sizes were great too! It is rare that my husband and i leave a restaurant without a box of food, but not this time! We were STUFFED, but no leftovers (which i find as a plus!) This used to be one of our favorite restaurants. We probably ate there twice a month. However, they have raised the prices and dropped the food quality. It's now at a price comparable to some upscale restaurants. There are so many better options for good casual Mexican food in the area. We will not return. read more

Don Tequila is located in a former Applebee's. It certainly is better than the former occupant. The margaritas are the best thing. It also has some pretty average sounding food. The food is too pricey for what you get so just try cocktails and margaritas. I had the mango margarita with chips. It's about $5 for the 16 ounce. This comes in a mason jar. It tastes much better frozen. This is good when it's hot. If you want food you can get similar quality at almost any other Mexican restaurant around Columbus. The service was pretty good. It took no time to be seated at the bar. The drinks came out in a few minutes. If you're in Powell try Don Tequilas and get some great cocktails. It has the best margaritas in that area. This is our family go to for dinner every Sunday night after mass. It is absolutely delicious and the portions are ginormous. The family that runs it is great and the customer service is next to none. They are willing to make any changes to any meal, to accommodate the customer's needs. Don Tequila was our local go to place for Mexican food however since they remodeled and expanded their menu, the food quality seems to have dropped. The chicken and steak fajitas I had were dry along with some of the steak with unchewable nerves. The service was slow and sub par for the evening we went. Their drinks now cost $4.99 each (tea, soda) and were not offered refills until we were finished with our meal. Looking for another Mexican restaurant going forward. read more

Waited over 30 minutes just to order (practically finished our entire margarita tower before even ordering.) I ordered a taco with no lettuce, add pico, cheese, cilantro and sour cream. I'm not a big Mexican food fan, but I really like this place. My favorite is the Texas Dip with its 3 meats - steak, chicken, and shrimp in a white queso dip. I've never been here before and didn't see one on the menu but requested it anyways, and they were happy to make it for me. Literally the best vegetarian chimichanga I've ever had. I do not even really like Mexican cuisine, but Don Tequila has some awesome food! I love their tilapia! I get the trio with the tilapia, shrimp and lobster and wow is it good!!! They have great margueritas too! Their salsa and cheese/bean dip is fabulous as well. The Dublin location near Tuttle is much better than the Powell one though. read more

We went here after a funeral to have happy hour with all of our family that was in town. They were awesome enough to put a ton of tables together for us did a great job of serving our huge group. We only ordered appetizers and drinks so I can't say a ton about the food. (My family loves it, though, so that's why we all went). The queso and chorizo queso were great. The margaritas and Long Island iced tea were strong. They definitely don't skimp on the alcohol, which is great. The homemade sangria was strong as well, but very good. The peach daiquiri was awesome. The place is very clean and new and love the decor. The metal tree with all of the alcohol bottles was very cool. The vat area looked awesome. My extended family loves to go here. It's a great new place. We will be back for sure. read more

Salsa was very lifeless. Just like a can of tomatoes ground up with no flavor. Very thin with no garlic, jalapeño or onions. Chips had no salt and were greasy. Finally the entree arrived. A 4.5 star. Flaming cheese Quicidea. Steak chicken zucchini onions tomatoes melted white cheese. 5 out of 5 stars. Need to improve on salsa. Busy but quick service. read more

You HAVE to eat here. We have lived in the area for 12 years and when our old favorite started to fail service and food wise we weren't sure where to go for great Mexican food. This place is now in weekly rotation for our little family of four (our 3 year old LOVES their kids taco meal and our 1 year old is happy he can get chicken nuggets at a Mexican place!) Service is amazing for both dine in and carry out plus their prices are a complete steal! I cannot say enough great things about this place (our favorite waiter even works there now!) Dropped one star off of my previous 5 star review because not only did they raise their prices like crazy (I used to be able to get a scallop and shrimp salad with tons of seafood for 10.99- now ANY seafood is a minimum of like 16.99!) but they got rid of most of our favorites. Makes me sad because we were hoping this would stay in our weekly rotation. Will say it was nice of them to give me a $10 gift certificate for Mother's Day and service was great read more
