Well... being from out of town, we didn't really know where to go for a nice Valentine's evening out. We chose this establishment. We arrived to a 2/3rds full eatery and was told we had a wait for a booth... no problem. My wife and I went to the bar and ordered Margaritas. All well, so far. After 15-20 minutes... my wife had to remind the host that we were waiting. He pointed to a booth that was free and we walked over and sat down with our Margaritas. I snagged two menus from the service station so we could decide what we wanted to order. Waitresses walked past us back and forth attending to other tables... but none came to us. The bus woman served us a basket of chips and salsa... and we waited. And waited. And waited. 15 minutes at the bar, and over 20 minutes at the booth. That was enough. We stood and walked to the host at the door and asked to be billed for the Margaritas... I told him how long we waited with no service and his only words were, "Cash or card?". No apologies, no discounted return visit, no "no charge for the two Margaritas, no "sorry folks".... Nothing. If this is how they treat customers... we will certainly never return. My wife and I just bought land here and look to build our family compound/Homestead. So, we were hoping to find a good spot to frequent. But, equally important... this place helped us find a "no go" spot. Check this eatery off the list. I guess our expectations were set to high by "Leanna's" on Main St., the customer service there, the food, coffee.... AMAZING!!! This place should study their business model. read more

I read a lot of not so good reviews about this place which almost made me select a different place. But I decided to see for myself. My findings were nothing close to what I had read about. I got seated right away and my waitress was friendly and took care of my order. She checked on me twice to see if all was good. Twice is perfect. I can't stand places where they check on you every five minutes. Now the food. I read it was bland. That is not the case. They had enough spices to make it a good meal. The meal was delivered hot and had great flavors. If you're looking for a Posh place to eat, this is not for you. This is a very relaxing place to eat with no frills. My kind of place. read more

I'm baffled that El Valle has only a 2.5 star rating. The food is legitimate & the family that owns it from the state of Jalisco. We split a small pitcher of margaritas & an order of carnitas. We asked for a side of tomatillo salsa which they gladly supplied. The carnitas were marinated & deliciously tender with crunchy carmelized onions, homemade guacamole, retried beans & Spanish rice. The meal exceeded our expectations, especially for South Georgia. We'll certainly eat here again on our next trip through! read more

If you are starving and there are no other options, maybe eat here. If not, stay away. The service was average at best, food was mediocre, and the management was horrible. I ordered a chimichanga which was burnt, dry, and camouflaged by damn near an entire head of lettuce. My buddy ordered a stuffed pepper which consisted of a slice of pepper covered with meat and cheese. Very lackluster!!! When I went to pay, I was told one price and charged a different one. When I asked the manager about the difference in price, he nonchalantly pointed to an inconspicuous sign which said there would be a 3.5% charge for anyone not paying with cash! They are either stuck in the Stone Age, or prefer keeping the bulk of their income untraceable! Do yourself a favor - and I can't believe I'm writing this - go to Taco Bell instead! read more

This is a decent Mexican Restraunt. It is in an old building that could use major remodeling. The bathrooms are not great due to the same issue of an old building. Service can be a little spotty. Depends on the time of day. My observation of Mexican food is that you become accustomed to the flavor of your local restraunt. Unless your a regular at a Mexican Restraunt, it is hard to judge it on one visit. I have been eating at this restraunt for 14 years. I have gotten tired of it because my kids LOVE it so much that they want to eat here all the time. The food is good- not great- but good. I have never gotten ill from eating here. Taquitos are delicious. Chips/ salsa are good. Beans are good (not OVERLY salted like the other Mex rest in town.) Flan is good. Fajitas -good. El Valle special - GOOD! In conclusion, it is not a 5 star restraunt on any level. It is simply good MOST of the time. More "hole in the wall" type place. Decided to try this place because my husband had lunch there before and said it was decent. I don't know if it's just a different experience for dinner, but El Valle is terrible. The service was horrible. We waited at least 10 minutes just for menus and drinks, and a different person stopped by our table every couple of minutes to ask if we'd been helped yet. Good grief. How can the servers expect to know what's going on when patrons are allowed to seat themselves? Laid-back, yes. But not organized. Anyway, the rice was decent and the cheese enchilada I ordered was at least edible. But the beans tasted like dirt. They were bland and probably straight from a can. The restaurant itself was not very clean, especially the restrooms. Just a very disappointing experience overall. I decided to try this due to not wanting to drive anywhere to get food as I am staying at the hotel across the street from it. I walked in, saw the "Please seat yourself." sign and did so. Several minutes later, I saw a party of 6-8 people come in and sit at one of the large tables behind me and getting chips and salsa as well as menus while I was just there. I started to wait to see if I would get waited on and changed my mind. I told the gentleman at the cash register about others getting menus and chips before I had even received a menu though they came in after I did. I told him that I would not be back. The cheese was gritty, when I inquired about it as I was leaving, I was informed that they had stuffed it with MASHED POTATOS! I've been eating here for 15 years and even though it has its good days and bad days it's still a fantastic place for Mexican food. I love their queso and tacos. They could do some remodeling. They are never slow and are are always packed. It always has a strong pine sol smell. I'm glad they clean, but the smell is very off-putting.
