The restaurant is clean, has an open kitchen, festive Hispanic music filling the airwaves and a tortilla maker busy at work! The birria taco and chicken taco arrived quickly, were plated with sautéed onions and topped with fresh cilantro and diced onion were good. However, the chicken and beef were a bit dry. The food has the best seasoning, is prepared in ways that nobody would expect, and the service was exceptional. While it was a little hot inside, the place and the parking lot were packed. Our food was cooked perfectly to order and the kids loved the queso. The ambiance of a small taqueria made it feel like home but we didnt have to bus our own table. We got the chicken tamale chicken tacos - 8/10 solid taco wish there was a lil more salt but the tortilla and salsa made this taco! shrimp tacos - 7/10 shrimp was a bit overcooked but again the tortilla and salsas made the taco Chicken quesadilla - 9/10 best thing we got. Must get. But on the smaller size be warned. Chicken tortito burrito - 7/10 we didn't love the amount of cheese on the outside but once we took the cheese off it was solid and a big portion. Had an absolutely fantastic meal here! Called in on Christmas Eve to see if they were open and they were smart enough to answer their phones that morning to let people know that they were open. Yay! I ordered a Birria tacos combo, fountain Coke and a pork tamale for $16.79. My order arrives with no tamales and no cup for my fountain Coke. So the server says I'll be back with your cup but you weren't charged for the tamale. I go to the front counter and order the tamale $4.21. The tamales brought to the table and I'm still waiting for my cup for the fountain Coke. I go back up to the front counter where I have to wait behind two people to order to finally get my cup. Awesome find off I-20 near Augusta! We were traveling back from Atlanta and were getting hungry, me and two co-workers one of which is from Puerto Rico desent. Eddie and myself started looking on our phones for options while the big guy drove, we both simultaneously said hey I found a spot and it was the same place. So obviously we had to stop and try it even though we had passed the exit. So we made a U-turn at the next exit and headed in for lunch. Boy it was so worth the effort! My buddy got a traditional dish with eggs, beans, meat unfortunately I didn't catch the name of it but he said if it was on the menu they were authentic and knew what was going on and a Mexican sprite. I had the Torito chicken burrito and a Mexican Topo Chico, man it was good! Never had a cheese skirt covered burrito before and I hope it is not my last! So much flavor in the chicken and the cheese was amazing! The big guy got the steak nachos with a fountain coke, it looked like it was missing all the goodness Eddie and were enjoying but he said he liked it. The guacamole dip was huge and came with a big basket of fresh chips, the queso dip was also nice size and came with the same size basket of fresh chips. Surprised to see a drive through. This is our first time dining here. I got the steak and chorizo burrito. It's huge and they give plenty of meat. The flavor is absolutely amazing. It's so much I could only eat half. Everything is cooked to order. The salsa is spicy to me because I am a whimp when it comes to spice but it's delicious. The only thing that disappointed me was that I couldn't get a margarita because they don't sell them. 10/10 and highly recommend. The food came out quickly. Don't let "modern Mexican" make you think Americanized. you order at the front, take a number, then sit down to wait for your food to be delivered. They bring salsa and a basket of chips. The street tacos just made it to my top fav street tacos, which is my favorite Mexican food. Hand-made corn tortillas! i got the birria (amazing!!), chicken and pastor. The pastor was the best pastor taco I have ever had too! We got guacamole and it was SO GOOD. Though not on the menu, I ordered Texas rice for my kids to share and it was excellent. Tasted very fresh and if I couod have, I would have ordered another one. It's a little pricier than other places but they give a lot of food and the fresh salsa bar is the best! If you can't handle spice maybe skip some of the things on the salsa bar like pickled onions and green sauce. The ambiance is cozy and sportsbar vibe. Hubby got the fish taco and thought it best one in this area (sorry didnt get pics of the fish...but included one of my friends shrimp taco). Omg, I am thoroughly in love with Mi Casita, I think about their agua fresca all the time and I love combining several flavors. It is the best Mexican place hands down in Augusta. It will be the one place I miss. They are so fast at getting things out to you after you order at the counter. The chips and salsa are crisp and fresh and they feel light. Their corn tortilla is hand made and just so delicious. I love the vibe of the place as it feels like family. It's so clean and well kept. Every thing is delicious from their queso dip to their tacos, the bowls, shrimp nachos, tacos etc. They also have the proper al pastor. I just moved to Augusta from Los Angeles and was really craving some tacos. I drove to this place, walked inside and was a little surprised by the amount of people and filled tables. As per my usual, I did a round robin of almost every single taco they had to offer. Let me tell you I was honestly blown away by how authentic and absolutely delicious these tacos were. I had asada, pastor, carnitas, pollo, and Birria. 10/10. The handmade tortillas are AMAZING. It has been hard living in the south multiple times and finding adequate let alone fantastic tacos -- but this place has them. Augusta is awash in Mexican restaurants, some good some "meh" but Taqueria Mi Casita shines brightest of them all! When my mom suggested going out to dinner I said "sure, if I can get a margarita" and started reviewing Mexican restaurants on Yelp. When I read the reviews for Mi Casita I gave up my margarita dream in favor of trying something new and, if the reviews were to be believed, great. Well all those 5 star reviews were on point! Mi Casita is in the old Edmunds BBQ building on Washington Road but it's completely renovated and you'd never guess it was the same place. The new decor is very appealing, modern and clean. The wait staff was super friendly and brought us menus to look over as soon as we sat down. It took us a few minutes because this menu isn't like any other Mexican restaurant I've been to. There are pictures of the menu already posted and if you go you might want to peruse them beforehand. After we had decided what we wanted we went to the counter to order. Mom went with the Carnita Bowl fajita style while I choose the Carne Asada Burrito, and following a fellow yelper's suggestion, got it Alambre style - cooked bell pepper, onion, bacon, chorizo, and cheese. We also ordered a chicken tamale and cheese dip. My mom was asking the young man at the cash register about the place and he told us it was a family run business and pointed out grandpa cooking in the kitchen. The pride that they had in the restaurant was very apparent. While waiting, a server brought a basket of perfectly fried crispy tortilla chips and the freshest, yummiest salsa we had ever had. I also got some items from the salsa bar to try. Thé pico de gallo was so good we could have eaten it with a spoon but we behaved ourselves and used it liberally as a garnish. Our food was ready quickly and jeez was it fantastic! Mom's bowl was brimming with tender delicious pork and cooked peppers and onions. It was served with rice, whole beans, lettuce, tomato, cheese, sour cream and guacamole. My steak burrito was so full of meat I could only eat half! The tamale was a little spicy for mom but I thought it was really good. Even the cheese dip was better than the usual cheese dip. They offer frescoes to drink and Coke products but we just had water. The wait staff checked on us continually and were quick to pick up our dirty plates and bring us to go containers. When mom forgot her to go container, one of the wait staff ran after her and gave it to her in the parking lot! So next time you feel like eating Mexican cuisine drive past the chains and hit up Mi Casita. You and your tummy will be very happy! read more

Great new addition to the Mexican food scene on the area, was expecting another sit-down style restaurant but it is a counter with plenty of seating space. You still get the free chips and salsa when you sit down, however it was quiet spicy so I wouldn't go too hard on it till you have something to drink. The menu is almost overwhelming with how many options they have so it was hard to decide. I love anything Al Pastor so I went with the quesadilla and it was amazing, so juicy and full of flavor compared to other places that offer it.
