There was one person waiting tables and hosting, but the service was incredible. I got a chicken chimichanga and it was perfect with lots of guac and cheese.

    Fajita Nachos to go

Basic and ok in a pinch...but nothing special to go out of your way for. Nachos had only a tiny tiny bit of meat...mostly peppers and onions. A tad of sour cream and smaller tad of guacamole. From the rave reviews we expected better than what we got. As you can see from the photo the nachos are big on peppers plus it had little cheese- like barely any . The price for these was almost $14 - This is in reality $14 for a cup of peppers !!! Very disappointing my husband's quesadillas were more like hot pocket sized- we were both hungry after- over priced and small portions.

The food was really good and filling, but there was a surprise survive Fee for my small party, my service was good until the end where I had to wait 10 or so minutes just to receive the check we had to stand up and ask for the check which was inconvenient. And the environment was nothing special.

First time here and probably the last ... best part of the experience was the mango margarita ... my fiancé and I got the chicken enchiladas but I think the flys and fruit flies enjoyed our meal more than we did .. I could see having these if I were eating outside but inside and at the abundance they were lets me know that this place is not as clean as it may appear. Food was just ok chicken was extremely dry even with the salsa I loaded up on it . Our server was decent . If you're going just for a drink I'd recommend it but I e definitely had better Mexican food here in MHC and without the extra unwanted guests

There aren't a lot of restaurants locally, so we decided to try this place because we were hungry from a day at the beach. Upon walking in, we eventually received a greeting from a hostess who apparently did not want to be at work that evening. We were seated right at the front near the door, and were left waiting a very long time before our server even showed up to the table. We didn't take long to order, and even ordered an app of Choriqueso to start with. On a constant basis, we were left waiting for refills for all of our drinks. The queso was so-so, and it took a very long time for our food to come out. When our food finally reached the table, it was not even room temperature anymore. Not even Luke warm. We ordered crab enchiladas, camarones de diablo, and a children's quesadilla plate. None of us, including our child could choke down what was served. Our server again, barely showed his face. We eventually ate what we could stand and paid and left. Please save your money and either eat elsewhere, or go to the grocery store and cook if you have the means to do so. This was a poor excuse for "authentic Mexican", and a slap in the face to your wallet. Nothing about this establishment was even close to a one star.

    Shrimp Chimichanga

This was our first stop when we arrived in Atlantic Beach. They offer your typical Mexican fare along with some seafood dishes you won't find in the Piedmont Triad. I ordered the Shrimp Chimichangas. I wasn't particularly impressed because they were skimpy on the white cheese sauce. The shrimp had an overpowering cumin taste and I was not prepared for this. I'm not a big fan of cumin. However the rice was delicious. The chips were very thin, which I love, and the salsa tasted like it had been made fresh that day. My partner ordered the Carnitas. The meat was very dry and he had to really "doctor" it up by adding lots of salsa and sour cream to make it palatable. We were hungry and ate it after an afternoon of traveling in very congested Friday afternoon traffic. It filled our bellies so we didn't have to get groceries until the next day. If we go back I will definitely not order a seafood dish. I will stay with what I know is familiar. They do make a mean margarita. Strawberry, frozen and rimmed in sugar. This was the best thing about my meal. The service was excellent. The staff was friendly and attentive. Honestly, I think I just ordered the wrong thing.

The bill so the convenience fee is if you pay with card $3.15 came out to be $81.93 If you pay in cash it would be 78.78

This is an unexpectedly great restaurant right at the center of activity in Atlantic Beach. In my…read moreexperience, finding good seafood restaurants in and around Atlantic Beach (even including Morehead City - where there are a dwindling few) can be surprisingly difficult, especially compared to the pelagic bounty of most coastal Carolina towns. Bahia has probably the best food I've had from any of the current crop of Atlantic Beach places. Every dish I've tried so far has been excellent. One in particular needs to be highlighted. The crab dip is possibly the best I've ever eaten, anywhere. You need to try it. Pro tip: Be prepared for the generous amount of butter and oil in and on the food -- it adds to the richness and is definitely a good thing, but you'll want to be careful if you're planning on performing microsurgery or wiping your eyeglasses. There is unobtrusive but good quality live music, which is always a plus (and seems more well-considered than the solo guitar dudes repeatedly playing "Free Fallin" at the neighboring restaurants and bars). The air conditioning indoors does a heroic job of keeping the restaurant a relatively nice temperature, as well.

We will come back as we enjoyed it.

We sat roughly between 5:45-6pm today. Not very busy but a large table was ahead of us (10-12 people) that were waiting on food. Initially we ordered cheese dip, dr.pepper and a water. All was fine. Then when I got my first water refill, it came back as starry, did not think much of it and maybe the server got mixed up with another's. No big deal at that time. Then we ordered food, it arrived approx 45 min later. While waiting for food, we had 2 baskets of chips and give or take 10-12 salsas brought to us, not all were eaten but the server never informed us of a possible delay. Just put more salsa out than people sitting which seemed odd. The item I ordered was a quesadilla fajita supreme. Now everywhere else I've been it's been meat, cheese and bell peppers/ onions. My own fault for not reading all the way because this one was meat cheese and mushrooms, again my own fault but definitely not a fajita quesadilla if I've seen one. The server. Very minimal English, especially in a tourist town. No words the whole night until it was time to collect his money. He threw food down and did not say much ever and kinda wandered around (not very big floor space so a lot of pacing). Time for the check. Now initially it was supposed to be water, dr.pepper, queso, fajita quesadilla supreme, and a chicken quesadilla. Well since the server thought to bring me a starry instead of water, I now was charged an additional $4.47 because he wanted to charge higher? I don't know but this sucked a lot. I see why there hasn't been reviews in a good bit, if you're on vacation or even live here, DONT GO. oh and this whole cash vs credit card price, like I get there's a credit card fee but just charge one price. I don't always have cash on me but it's part of business. I don't see dicks sporting goods offering discounts because I pay cash. I don't know just weird stuff and awful experience.

I have to give Alvaro five stars. He was funny and paid attention to us but did not hover over us. Appitizer- Stuffed jalapenos $5.25- do not get them. The breading was not right. It fell off the jalapeno and was also doughy. Very disappointed. Mixed Fajitas $13.45- it was bland and got cold quickly. Had one fajitas and the meat was cold. We took it home and doctored it up and had it for lunch the next day. The size it large and plentiful. The chips and salsa were better than other Mexican places we have been to.
