I was in town for a short stay and noticed Tower 7 was in Morehead city. Being very familiar and love the Wrightsville location! In short the Morehead location was not up to same standards. - decor is more of a contemporary beach theme verses a Baja beach tiki hut surfer feel - diners were having to wait for tables when PLENTY were available - only one bartender servicing the whole restaurant. She was doing the best she could but set tone of over worked and sub par quality in drinks - food came out visually good and taste was good as well. Could be a little more hotter in food temp - loved the on the water vibe - just miss the overhead music, surf videos on tvs and tikki hut vibe Management hire an extra bartender, the bar seemed to be a hot seating location read more

I was back in town to see someone I met here over a decade ago when it was a seafood restaurant, and since I was back in town, I wanted to see what the new place was like. The layout is very similar and mainly it's just been re-themed with some new paint schemes, but it had a good ambience and vibe. Margaritas were tasty and the food we had was good with excellent flavor. The service was friendly and efficient, and if I lived locally, this would be one of my hangouts. read more

The table behind us sat dirty the entire time we ate and was empty even before we arrive so was not bussed for at least 45 minutes, which is ridiculous seeing how we had a wait for table. Drinks did not arrive until after the food was already eaten, waitress did not have knowledge of menu. I left my phone and went back to get it a few minutes after leaving- our table and the one behind still not cleaned, plus another one where people had left sitting dirty. Really poor experience to want to eat lunch on the water but end up staring at half eaten food the entire time. read more

First off the Cantinarita is the best Margarita in Carteret County. That was a great sipper but be careful! You might want several. I had the Tacos In A Beach Towel,and my dining companions got a Fajita Burrito and an ACP. The Salsa and Queso were on point. You can't beat the waterfront outdoor dining location of Tower 7! A great place to enjoy a beautiful day and their excellent Mexican fare. The Tower 7 Burrito is a sizable sucker so either be hungry, plan to share, or get a box. The Pineapple Enchiladas were a big hit with our group as was the Taco Salad. Service is very friendly and prompt. Overall, I can't imagine a better place to enjoy the waterfront and a great Mexican meal. read more

Tower 7 was the best place for some killer tacos and burritos and had incredible service! This place has the coastal vibe you're looking for without sacrificing on quality. We ordered the tower 7 burrito and their carnitas with a side of fries. I'm a big critic of fries but these were absolutely amazing! One star because the chips were warm and the app won't let me give zero or negative numbers. Every other one star review here? Believe every word of them. I did believe but to my regret I had no input in choosing the restaurant. The burrito seemed one of the less objectionable choices. It took 3 tries for the server to hear me say "pulled chicken." I might as well have said "soggy shredded cardboard" as that likely would have had more flavor. No seasoning whatsoever, not even salt. Same with the black beans - completely unseasoned in any form. According to the menu, this burrito should have included tomatoes and shredded cheese. It didn't. So what I got was the unappetizing mess you see below. I knew it was going to be bad when the server said the food would be out "very quickly." Sure. How long does it take to open a few cans, grab huge handfuls of pre-shredded lettuce, forget some of the ingredients, and fling them on an empty plate? I left most of it and nobody noticed or cared. In general, the service was stunningly indifferent. Also rather telling was the server's response when asked for a recommendation between 2 fish dishes. "I've never had them. We're not allowed to order those." Good job, management. The decor is identical to its previous incarnation as the Ruddy Duck. I'm thinking that was a good call on the owner's part. Nice place, I like it. The service was excellent. Very pleasant and very prompt. Ample seats and seating options. The is the bar with an inside and outside seating. Inside seating, or outside seating. Outside you have the option of in the shade or in the sun. We opted for outside in the shade under the overhang. It was 86 out but with the shade and nice breeze it was perfect. Excellent views of the sound and passing boats. The food was good. We all had leftovers. read more

Awesome meal last night. Perfect end to our day on the beach. Wanted a casual waterfront meal and wandered into Tower7. Manager seated us (2) at a high top with a breeze and a view. My bride was craving frozen drinks and they had a great house margarita. They checked all the boxes for us. Food was great, Trinity our server was super friendly and made us feel at home. The Poor Surfer tacos are a great bang-for-your buck at a place that has terrific waterfront views. Black beans, pickled red onions, jalapeños, cilantro, avocado, rice, and pico all served up in a make-your-own style taco with 3 corn tortillas. Unbelievably slow to bring out drinks and food. The beans and rice were obviously pre-prepped and sitting under a heat lamp. I had a wrap that had a chewy tortilla and the shrimp was rubbery. Drinks were good but took forever. From the time we sat down, it took 45 mins for drinks and 55 mins for food. And this was a "normal" Saturday afternoon. I gave it two stars for the drinks only. As a local, this is NOT a place I will be revisiting. read more

Husband and I stopped in here for a margarita and light bite on a warm October night. I hadn't been here since the place was Ruddy Duck. We sat at the outside section of the bar and were quickly greeted by one of the bartenders who introduced himself and the other bartender. He brought us menus and chips and salsa. The chips were not overly salty and salsa was fresh and flavorful. I ordered the skinny margarita and husband the house. Both were not too sweet and you could taste the tequila. Just how I like them. We split the yellowfin tuna with black beans and corn tortillas. I ordered the tuna rare knowing it would continue to cook on the fajita pan. It was all good and nicely presented. Not a huge portion -- I could have eaten the whole thing myself. Overall great service with bartenders keeping our waters refilled and checking on us. We were seated immediately and server was right there and was friendly. As usual the chips were great and the salsa this evening was spicy and hot but for me hot isn't pleasant. I ordered Taco salad with beef and yes it was delicious but the flour shell was stale and tasted old. I've ordered many times and the shell has been fresh tasting. We've eaten @ Tower 7 four times; we're done. We only chose it for convenience because we were @ Big Rock Fishing tournament Weigh-In (on the same street). The food is awful, and the drinks are not much better. I had a chicken quesadilla; Taco Bell serves better. Their guacamole was tasteless and their margarita was 1/4 the size of those served @ Mezcalito in Beaufort. The one thing T7 has going for it is the view. Sooo, if tasty food/drinks are not high on your list, it's OK. The service was good, but if the food is low caliber, it doesn't really matter. The entire back of the restaurant is open to the water so it is hot, sticky with humidity and flies buzzing around your food. If you want outstanding Mexican food, Mezcalito in Beaufort is hands down 100% the best as well as their margaritas! It's also air-conditioned and free of bugs flying around your food! read more

There was food all over the floor from prior customers, the wait staff was using dirty rags to clean tables and a women in a blue t-shirt was yelling at wait staff in front on customers, and I caught her eye as she walked by. Highly recommend this place for delicious food, strong drinks (yummo), beautifully decorated atmosphere, and spectacular waterfront views....we delightfully enjoyed the Tres Amigos app, Chimichanga pulled chicken, chicken and ground beef enchiladas! Oh and don't forget to try the Cantanrita margarita - and ask for a side of Mike's Hot Honey for a a little bit of spice in ur life! My wife and I stopped in last night to try the newest Mexican restaurant in town. Place was empty. We sat at the bar. Chips and Salsa were promptly served, along with cold beers. Thin chips. So thin that the bottom of the basket was all crumbled up. Like eating the last remnants in a potato chip bag. Salsa was very good, nice spice. Server asked if I wanted cheese sauce. Said, "sure". It came out with a thick layer on top. You know how it get's when it's been sitting for awhile? It tasted fine when you dug to the bottom. We started looking over the menu. It was a one page menu, front and back. When the server came back, I commented that is the smallest Menu I had ever seen in a Mexican restaurant. She informed me that this was not a Mexican restaurant, it was a California Baja Mexican grill. A little on the lighter side. What?????? They bring chips and salsa, don't they. Don't California my Mexican! Looked through the menu and was having a hard time figuring out what to try. Found the fish tacos. OK maybe,, until I see the phrase , "Dos Equis Beer Battered Cod". Noticed it on several other menu items. They are proud of their cod. That did it. We are on the Crystal Coast at a restaurant at a famous location (Ruddy Duck) sitting over the water. and you mean to tell me that you're serving "Dos Equis Beer Battered Cod. Ain't no way! You have to do lot better than frozen cod off the USSyscoFood truck. This is not going to cut it when we are surrounded by an abundance of fresh local seafood. "Dos Equis Beer Battered Cod", Come on! So we kindly told the server, thank you very much, we'll pass on the entrees,paid our tab and headed to another restaurant. ......To a place known for fresh local seafood. It was GREAT. read more
