I've been here once and I thought she did a good job. What infuriated me is the fact they pick and choose their customers. I have a coworker that started going to her first, anytime she texts them to make a appointment, they answer immediately and make time for her. Every time I call, I get ignored. When I told my coworker to text her, then they texted me back hours later and said we will check tomorrow to see if we have that certain day available. 3 days gone by and they texted saying that the certain day isn't available. No kidding I figured that out. They have done this to me a few times or always having a excuse. It's so rude to leave customers hanging especially with a big event coming up. They will not be accepting of new customers bc clearly they are satisfied with the handful that they already have. So don't even bother giving them a call. And their excuse btw is that they only answer to people that give them a text rather than a call. So unprofessional read more

I went to this salon once with a groupon a while back, for highlights, haircut and blow dry. Not one hair was trimmed but they tried to tell me it was... No hair on the floor and scissors were never used so not sure what kind of magical haircut technique they used. Highlights looked like tiger stripes.... The following weekend, I had them redone at a reputable salon. I never posted a negative review because I decided to move on. But I see they have 4 stars and am baffled because this is not a 4star salon. The salon itself is TINY! No ventilation, it is in a space that is not meant for a salon, it is in a space built for a small office. They would be better off running this office out of their home than this location. Amazing hairstylist!!! She always does a wonderful job, very personable, warm and welcoming. Malu is the first hairdresser to get my hair the way I want it. No other stylist could pull my hair a platinum blonde tone that I wanted without damaging it. She does an amazing job with cut, color & highlights. Walking in here for my pre-purchased Couptessa deals I felt right at home at Ela Beauty Salon. Angelica welcomed me, sat me in the chair and patiently helped me choose the right color for my highlights. She then asked me how I'd like my hair cut. The initial consultation was thorough and I felt that she was really listening. Sylvia, the nail technician, brought over some color pallets for me to choose the shellac mani & spa pedi colors. My highlights came out beautifully. Just the way I'd wanted them. (how often are we lucky enough for that to happen?). The cut, blow dry, and styling were also done beautifully. My nails were perfect as well. This salon is cozy, clean, and uses high quality products for hair and nails. I felt comfortable and well pampered after my "day of beauty" here. I came to Ela with a Couptessa certificate for a Moroccan oil treatment and a haircut. It was a little difficult to find, but once inside, Mother & Daughter owners made everyone feel like family. Everyone seemed to know each other and clients were instant friends. As for the hair services, the hair treatment made my hair silky smooth. I was a little surprised that she cut my hair after she dried it, but the cut was nice, and my hair looks and feels healthy. Mens haircut done by Angelica. Very nice person but the cut was uneven around the ears. A rather large patch was cut into behind the ear and the sideburns on 1 side had more taken off so that I had a white patch of un-tanned skin while the other side did not. Also I did not want it to short and the top had enough hair taken off that I can no longer part it to the side. Thank goodness hair grows back. read more

Found this place on Yelp, had only one review but I decided to give it a try. I have hot head extensions and I just needed some maintenance so I called a few places around Miami Beach and was shocked with the prices which range from $300 to $700 just to have them retaped. I called Ela's Salon and made an appointment. When I came it I got greeted by a nice lady which was one of the owners . It's a small and cozy place owned by mother and a daughter. One of the worst haircuts I've ever gotten. Malu was so rude. First she was arguing on the phone with her mother. Then when her mother arrived at the salon the arguing intensified. 2-3 times she put down the scissors and blow dryer to battle with her mom who works there. Never again. I found this hidden gem on yelp and saw that it had amazing reviews so I called and made my appointment and I'm so happy I did!! Malu the owner and the other nice lady at the front greeted me with smiles and I instantly felt welcomed. After an amazing eyebrow wax that left my eyebrows looking PERFECT, I showed Malu a picture of what I wanted for my hair and she made me look just like the picture! These ladies (mother-daughter team) are wonderful! Angelica does my color, cut and keratin and Malu did my extensions. No, it's not a fancy salon but that's part of what I love about it.
