Our Aunt and Uncle have been at the Gardens of GreenRidge for almost a year now and we are so…read morepleased to have found this caring home staffed with such competent people. Our Uncle is in the memory unit - he needs a higher level of care and the ability to be kept from wandering away. His wife is literally on the other side of a locked door, able to see him and visit with him at any hour of the day or night - but without the constant worry that he will fall or wander away when she is sleeping. It's a good solution that allows them to be together without worry. Our Aunt is quite mobile, active, and socially engaged. And although neither wanted to leave their home of 60 years, she is no longer lonely, and no longer worries constantly about the ability to care for her husband. When our Aunt took a fall, she was placed in the hospital care portion of the Gardens of GreenRidge next door, and received excellent physical therapy. She is now back up walking around and feeling great. She loves the weekly bath in the deep soaking tub (attended by staff member) and the in-home hair stylist appointment each week. She raves about the meals, and loves seeing so many people she knew from years ago with whom she had lost touch. My husband and I are very pleased that the staff welcomes our visits, never asks us to call ahead, and always seems happy to see us. The facility is brightly lit, well taken care of, and smells fresh. Our Aunt and Uncle have good things to say about everyone and about the facility itself. Yes, they miss living at home, but both seem less stressed and are adjusting to a new style of life. We feel so fortunate that my sister-in-law and her husband found this facility, made the arrangements to have our Aunt and Uncle accepted here, and have a peace of mind that our family is well taken care of. We highly recommend a visit. The only reason I did not rate it 5 star for activities is that I am not aware of any "outings" into the community to go shopping, etc. This would add additional costs, I am sure, but would be a nice bonus.

They would know this how?? So I am reposting my original review of ACTUAL experience with this hell hole. If I could rate it any worse I would. Skilled nursing is a joke. No information relayed to family regarding changing conditions nor medications. Patient left in the same clothes for 4 days although their records indicate a bath was given- seems odd they would put dirty clothes back on a patient after bathing..... Patient allowed to deteriorate and it was only due to family intervention patient was removed to hospital with CHF.

They did…read morejust about no physical therapy, did not brush her teeth or clean her during her entire 14 day stay. She left with a UTI and completely bedridden, with multiple bedsores. She was supposed to go to Allied to get PT, but she left a complete invalid. Not sure if any companies are better, but Allied was awful in every way. They have one social worker trying to handle over 100 patients. Nurses are caring, but entire system is broken. No doctor involvement, no oversight, no communication at all. After they milked our insurance to the max, they gave us 3 days notice to remove her and sent her home with no hospital bed, no gear, no nursing services (all of which they were supposed to handle through Geisinger insurance). They then ensured they delayed the delivery of the bed and ambulance to be about to add $2440 in charges completely out of pocket. My mom is failing and now in hospice, and I hold Allied mainly responsible. Go somewhere else.

She sits at the nurses station from morning till night with other residents. They just sit there.no tv or window to look out. My mom has bruises and sores. She sits in soiled diapers for long periods of time so often she soils through her clothes. When we ring her buzzer the aids go up and down the hall and pass her room. When we tell them she has to go to the bathroom they tell us she doesnt have to go or she just went. The staff is lazy.my mother gets terrible car. we want to transfer her to a better facility but unfortunately our other sister won't allow it. If you care about your family member Greenridge Care Center is not for you. My advice is to stay away! The director and social worker are no help. They are poor business people. This has been my experience with this care center.

Our family lost our mother in March of 2019. She was an amazing woman who never let anything rise…read moreabove her top priority of caring for her family, especially my father, Bill. My father is a disabled veteran with crippling arthritis and knee problems and a multitude of health issues and needs. He is a diabetic that requires insulin, has lymphedema that requires daily treatments, needs medications four times per day and after a two serious falls, required someone to be with him while he transferred from chair to walker, walker to bed, etc. My father was from a generation where his wife cooked, cleaned, raised us at home, gave us baths at night, did the laundry, went shopping and had dinner on the table when he got home from work. As we grew up and moved on, my father grew older and his world became smaller as his ailments and medical needs became his focus. My mother took care of him with tireless effort, literally, up to the moment that she died. When she passed, he was lost. With our family spread across the globe (literally) and having families of our own, caring for my father was an impossibility given the degree of care that he requires. We were referred to Visiting Angels who came to meet and evaluate my father and had him set up with care givers within a week. It was an adjustment for my father going from a doting wife who cared for his every emotional and physical need to have caregivers who he did not know come to his home to cook and care for him, but he adjusted and accepted that this was his new reality. We watched this unfold and took great comfort in knowing he was receiving the care that he needed. There were some bumps along the way, which I sheepishly have to admit were caused mostly by my father's attempts trying to alter a situation to get his way instead of what was safe and necessary. These situations were mitigated with great communication between my family, my dad and from Visiting Angels and resolved. Over the last year, his mobility has declined. He went from requiring 12 hours a day of care to 24 hour care after falling in his bedroom at night while alone. He injured his shoulder, but Visiting Angels was even able to provide a care giver for several hours at night during the week while he was in his rehab center for companionship. When we realized we needed 24 hour care, Visiting Angels amazed us with their ability to provide a live-in care giver. This allowed my father to fall into a daily routine with the same person (something extremely important to him). He found it very comforting to get to know someone who also got to know him. Unfortunately this scenario ended yesterday as my father, regrettably, has reached the point that he requires multiple people to transfer him which would put any single caregiver at risk so he has to be placed in a nursing home. We had to say goodbye to Kristin, his most recent and utterly amazing live-in care giver. She was sweet, caring, a wonderful cook and dedicated and was very much part of the family. If it weren't for Visiting Angels, my father would have probably ended up in a nursing home or an extended care facility immediately after his wife's death which would have been devastating as he would have had to say goodbye to her and to the life he had always known at home all at once. However, Visiting Angels provided the means for him to stay at home, provide amazing care which allowed him to continue his life as normally as possible. No one could ever replace my mom, but Visiting Angels gave us all peace of mind knowing they were providing the care we wanted to be able to provide my father on our own, but couldn't. Visiting Angels gave my father the ability to carry on with his life for over a a year in the comfort of his home. I highly recommend them.
