Fortunately there wasn't any electric fire or shorts at the house's electric panel. My brother put out a bid on Yelp to find a capable electrician who could replace it at a reasonable cost and we decided on taking a shot with J Powers Electric. They showed up at the time of the appointment which is a big plus in my book and they gave me an estimated time of completion barring any unforeseen complications. The current outlet was replaced with a brand new GFCI outlet with an in use weather cover and everything went smoothly and quickly. Most stairs at Home Depot won't go high enough but we luckily found one that's 15 feet. Even then, it was still slightly short. Rodrigo was able to creatively connect one end of my 2nd floor to one of the landing of the staircase to create a magical bridge that helped to get near center ceiling spot of where the installation need to happen. Magical. With the help of his assistant, he finished the installation job in about 4 hours. Fished the new wire through our attic and did not drill any new hole into our wall to create place for a new chandelier switch. He split one of the current switches into a twin switch setup and that's how we can control our new chandelier light. Hallelujah! He was so nice that he even helped to nail in my battery operated scones quickly too before he leaves. No charge. What a great man. Highly recommend his service if you need an electrician!

Sean came by to give me an inspection and an estimate, but while pushing the breakers back in so at least my fridge would run, there was another arc, and a glob of molten aluminum dropped down from the meter. At that point it moved on from estimate to immediate repair. He disconnected everything, went out and bought an all-new panel and breakers and re-fitted the new buss bar and connections into the existing box. The fact that I'm writing this now shows he was successful; everything is back up and better than new, at a price I figured would be double what it was. Scheduling with them initially was a little confusing - first we were messaging through Yelp, then text, then they sent me to their website. They were communicative but I never knew which channel to reach out to first. They did come out quickly which was appreciated. The first two gentleman that came to replace my fan and fix my ceiling light were not great. They would look at something, and then disappear and call someone and be on the phone with someone while they were looking at the fan or light fixture, almost like they were calling someone and asking them what they should do. Shouldn't they know? They were at my house for HOURS. WAY longer than I think they should have been. They would just look at the light fixture and talk to each other for like 5 minutes, then step out to make a phone call, then come back and start working on it. Over and over and over. They took a brand new fan out of the box and replaced it, but it wobbled like crazy (turns out they just didn't put the fan together really well because the second guys that came back made it much better). When they replaced my dimmer switch and celiing light, it looked AWFUL. Wasn't flush to the ceiling at all. They told me just to patch it, but this clearly needed more than a patch! I couldn't believe they just left it like that. I called and told them I was unhappy with their work, and they offered to come back and fix it. The second guys that came back were in and out so fast. They fixed the light and it looks perfect, just as it should. Clearly the first guys that came out had no idea what they were doing. Disappointed to have had a less than stellar experience, considering how highly reviewed they are. It must depend on what service folks you have come out to actually do the work.
