Elder's Ace Hardware in Bearden is just like an old hardware store. They don't have nearly as many old nuts and bolts as Parker Brother's used to have but they have that sense of service and knowledge to help you with your next 'Do it yourself' project. Great service ,great staff ,okay deals But I'm here for something else. The Throne. Comfortable yes, vibrant lighting.. it could be better however the music was a plus i enjoyed it. Also the air freshener smelt rather delightful. I would recommend buying not soap and toilet paper as always double wrapping would be my recommendation.. the throne water pressure wasn't the strongest but got the job done.if the coffee hitting extra hard in the morning you may have trouble.. Over i was at easy on the Throne thus morning. Highly recommend if need a stop-and-go. read more

I don't know why I go back. I will not be going forward. Just rude and condescending service. The Ace that was in the Old North Knox and 4th and Gill area was great. Nice, helpful people. I have been snapped at for taking my propane tank to wrong area. I didn't know where to take it. Also, I will go to another line when this particular woman is working register. She is unpleasant. Do not get me started about the person working paint desk acting like she was doing me a favor. Actually that phrase best describes the experience at that store. My favorite neighborhood hardware and garden store. I go here for any range of things, getting keys copied, vent filters, garden accessories, paint, etc. You name it they most likely have it and if they don't they can either try and get it or suggest a place that will have it. Many of the employees have been there for years/decades. If you are looking for a good hardware store then give this Ace a shot, it's my go to store. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!! My friend and I got a flat tire on Kingston Pike right outside Ace. We went in, not expecting help, just to see if anyone had a jack, and Ron and Paden were amazing angels who just went ahead and put the spare on for us - we didn't have to do anything. This just goes to show how much these employees care about their customers and we are so grateful to them for helping us out. Will definitely be going back to this Ace for all future hardware needs. I went into Elder's to use a coupon I had received in the mail. This is the cleanest and most courteous place I've been to. All the staff was very friendly and assisted me even though it was 7:55 PM. I didn't realize they closed at 8:00. When I did see a sign and realized I apologized to them, as I had worked retail and after a full days work I was ready to get off my feet. They said "oh don't worry about it, take your time." These young men and women didn't say a peep or even announce the store would be closing. NO one could ask for finer service than this. Even if you're not in the market for something from a hardware store I'd suggest you stop in and enjoy the top quality service you get. Highly recommend as most retail stores could take a lesson from the example set. Thank you and I will return. read more

Generally speaking a good business to get what you need fast and get out but (on more than one occasion and concerning more than just one cashier) 2 of the cashiers have been almost out right rude & off putting. To be clear, I do not think one of them works there any more and these cashiers were some of your younger ones. Just a week ago one rolled her eyes in reference to me during our transaction (and did not think I noticed). Sorry but I did and I did NOT appreciate it. She and that experience (alone) is the reason why you are not getting 5 stars with this review. And, as I am thinking about it (because of that experience), I just might be being to generous with 4 stars! read more

This is my favorite store in Knoxville! The variety is incredible... From Yetis to corrugated piping to keys made to mower blade sharpening, this place has it all. This place is great. Pretty much as soon as you walk in the door someone is there to help you. If you know what you need they quickly just tell you the aisle and leave you alone. If you need more assistance, they will walk you through the entire purchasing process and even give you suggestions. I didn't really notice the price being too much different but for the service I would be willing to pay an extra little bit. read more

I don't know a darn thing about hardware and have no desire to learn. Fortunately, I don't have to thanks to Elder's. This store is always well staffed with people who are eager to help you find the solution to whatever your hardware needs are. They will also help you with pesky projects like drilling holes in a plant container and cutting dowels to size for your kid's science projects. They have a nursery if you're into landscaping, as well as a good selection of premade baskets, containers, and pots if you don't have the time or inclination to garden. They have items like Yetis and stadium seats seasonally. I come here often to have keys made because someone at my house loses a key about once a week, or so it seems. They have a small but well-stocked section of seasonal decor and gifts, which is a go-to spot for me at Christmas. Their prices are slightly higher than going to Walmart or Home Depot, but it's a always a win in my book not to have to go to Walmart or HD, especially if I can shop at Elder's and get great service. read more

Super friendly staff (Ron and Joseph are great to work with), well organized and clean store. I'm installing a 6' H x 14' W IKEA Besta wall unit in my den, and the staff at Elder's Ace Hardware listened to me describe and sketch my project. The Elder's staff then helped me pick the appropriate screws and hardware while taking into consideration the baseboards, wall-mounted TV, and other details in my den. Elder's has a large selection of screws, brackets/braces, and other construction necessities. They also sell 2" x 4" x 8' wood boards and Benjamin Moore paint. Best of all, Elder's is extremely convenient for individuals living near UT, Sequoyah Hills, or Bearden. read more

I had gone into this location looking for a specific item that I needed several of. I had been advised to go there by the other 2 locations of Elders Ace (South Knoxville and Rocky Hill) as they did not have as many of the items as I needed. I asked for the same 49% off that I had received on these items at the other locations - due to the Founders Day sale - all week long. And, they advised me that it was not applicable. Pretty abruptly, at that. Upon returning to my office, I checked the website and there it was - advertised big as life. They were pretty darned confident in their wrong information... I called and advised them of the situation and that I would be posting this on Yelp and the tune really changed. I advised them that their location was not exactly convenient and that I would not be coming back in again - ever. Not impressed with them at all at this location. They don't even know the details of their own sales. How can I take their advise on repairing something.... read more
