Everyone was wonderful! It felt very much like hanging out with a close knit family; supporting of everyones' goals and passions, joking with one another. It truly was a delight hanging out, while waiting for my turn.
My tattoo is beautiful! He really is very light handed, and his linework is very clean. I would love to come back!
But I wont.
I'm a transman, I use He/They pronouns, however I dont go out of my way to tell people my pronouns. I'm in a red state, I just dont wanna start problems and only wanna live my life, in peace. People misgender me all the time and I just go about my day. Its not a big deal to me, anymore. It use to be but I've since learned that its just a them problem.
My tattoo artist Went Out of His Way to ask for my pronouns. I was excited to find someone willing to work on me, that was an ally of us trans people!
But then he proceeded to misgender me the rest of the time I was there. Not only did he misgender me, but he then explained that he has many trans family members that he misgenders, dead names, and shames for "not dressing like how they say they are", "just wanting attention", and also "they will always be the gender they were assigned at birth, to me" OH! But he "is still supportive" by the way. I tried to get my opinion into our 2 person conversation but he very much is set in his ways. And thats fine. Just not for me.
I still have a DD chest, and I wear pastel colors, like pink. I grow a beard, and am married to a man. Trans People dont own you anything. I have felt this way for at least 17 years. I'm not faking anything, and I dont think they are. If its "just a phase" then cool. Thumbs up to your family members trying to find themselves. If its not though, you are just being a jerk(to put it Very lightly)
TL:DR: Cisgender People, you will have a great time and get beautiful work done. Trans Folx, if you go, he is transphobic and if that bothers you even a little, find somewhere else. read more
