Definitely consider making reservations because the restaurant gets quite busy during peak times. I chose to go with the fish pie and it was absolutely delicious. Everything was seasoned perfectly. We left with our tummies full and satisfied! Make sure you make this part of your Cork stops.

The second night I had an appetizer of seafood chowder and the John Dory fish. The cheese cake was unique, , very satisfying taste of cocoa, and the crunchy and gritty texture really felt like Ferrero Roche. For the other dishes I found something interesting. The prawns and crab sandwiches tasted standard, but the oily sauce (prawns) and the sweet and sour puree (crab sandwiches) had exquisite flavor that made one want to finish them all with a piece of bread (which I did). On the other hand, the John Dory was nicely done, texture spot-on, juicy and savoy flavor, but the white sauce looked broken and watery, and the taste was a bit on the bland side. In general I enjoyed my experience, but I wonder if they could match the quality of the sauce and the main ingredients better :)

I paired it with one of their locally brewed lagers, which was crisp, refreshing, and a great match for the meal. The biggest surprise was the mushroom soup. It was rich, velvety, and absolutely exquisite, served with warm house made bread that was impossible to stop eating. What truly made the experience exceptional was the hospitality. Every member of the staff was warm, welcoming, and genuinely made us feel at home. Fresh local ingredients, fantastic beer, unforgettable food, and wonderful service. Market Lane deserves every bit of its five stars. Highly recommended!

Small pork pie's pastry had some slightly overburnt and had spots, but it was crispy overall. The filling was seasoned nicely, but could use a bit more gravy or juice. The blackberry sundae with ice cream was nicely done, silky texture ice cream, sundae was rich in blackberry flavor. Other elements provide a diversity of mouthfeel, but I felt some of them were a bit of nuisance as their textures sometimes did not feel harmonized together.

This is a must visit in Cork. We went for dinner and were seated comfortable upstairs. To start they bring "snacks" to the table which includes fish nuggets, potato chips, and marinated olives. The fish nuggets were absolutely great and served with a basil aioli. For starters I highly recommend the unusual oyster pate. Smooth subtle and perfect. For mains we went with the John Dory which was wonderful. And they bring sides family style. The colcannon was the standout side. What I wouldn't have given to take it home for a fried egg breakfast. The dessert was caramelized white chocolate and ice cream. Amazing way to top off a superb evening. The servers were over the top great. Attentive, sense of humor and knowledge. A Michelin star is probably in their future if they even care about that because they have received so many accolades.

Fresh, clean, and the kind of flavour that makes you pause for a second like... wow, ok. I didn't have a reservation, but I had a serious oyster craving, and the manager was kind enough to fit me in. That alone deserves a thank you. Service was good, friendly, and attentive without hovering. The atmosphere was great too, lively and comfortable, perfect for a quick treat or a casual seafood stop.

There is a reason that everyone rants and raves about Fishy Fishy!!…read more Make reservations and make your stomach happy. The staff is friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Our server even gave us excellent suggestions of a hike. The food was the best that I had on this trip. No matter what make sure you do not miss out on the sticky toffee. I do have to mention that we had a table near the kitchen. Not once during our meal did we hear the typical kitchen chatter or noise. The fish and chips were delicious and absolutely perfect. The best I had all week. I wish I knew the young lads name that assisted us and told us about the hike because he was amazing

After a full day of touring Ireland's coastline, we ended our evening in Kinsale and chose Fishy…read moreFishy for dinner. We started with the multigrain bread and house-made butter, which was a simple but tasty way to begin the meal. The lobster bisque followed and was rich, creamy, and hearty. While the lobster flavor became a bit overpowering toward the end, it was still well worth ordering. For our mains, I had Jody Hurley's Wok Fried Crab Claws with white rice, and my wife ordered the Baked Local Lobster with spring onion mash and salad. The crab claws were tossed in a creamy lemon sweet chili sauce that was packed with flavor, and the rice balanced the richness perfectly. The generous portion was an added bonus. The standout, however, was the baked lobster--fresh, perfectly cooked, and topped with a delicious mustard cream sauce. Paired with the mash and salad, it made for an excellent meal. Fishy Fishy delivered fresh seafood, generous portions, and flavors that made it a memorable stop in Kinsale.
